'Little dove, you look gorgeous,' her mother spoke while walking in. Anthea immediately turned around to face her. She looked down at her dress and smiled at Cersei.
'Thank you, mother.' The girl bowed. 'My septa made it for me.'
Cersei didn't even blink an eye. 'Did she? How wonderful.'
Anthea sat down on a comfortable chair, her blond hair falling over her shoulders.
Her mother also took a seat and poured herself a goblet of wine. She slightly cocked her head to the side and looked at her daughter. She held the can up. Anthea shook her head.
'You need to learn to drink wine. As a queen, your life will be hard and sometimes you just need a moment to relax. Wine helps, really,' her mother sighed, disappointed that her daughter was still as stubborn as always.
'I don't like the taste, mother,' Anthea responded. Her handmaiden started brushing and braiding her hair.
Her mother eyed the handmaiden suspiciously.
'Who are you, child?'
Anthea frowned before realizing that her mother was speaking to the handmaiden. The poor girl swallowed and almost dropped the brush she held in her shaking hands.
Cersei showing interest in maidens? Something was off.
'Have you lost your tongue?' Cersei sneered. The handmaiden shook her head.
'N-no, my lady. My name is A-Alayane,' the handmaiden answered.
'That sounds exotic. You are not from here, are you?'
'I am from Dorne, my lady.'
Cersei raised her eyebrows, but didn't look surprised.
'Of course you are.' She smiled, but Anthea could tell it was a fake smile.
'Mother-' Anthea started, but she was cut off by her mother who suddenly stood up, straightened her dress and took a step closer to the two girls. The handmaiden's eyes grew a little wider.

'Your people killed my eldest daughter. The sister of your queen. My beautiful baby girl was taken from me. Do you know how she was killed? I guess not. She was murdered by Ellaria Sand the paramour of your prince Oberyn. Our people have hated your people for as long as I can remember, but never had I thought they would do such a thing. Killing an innocent child is considered one of the heaviest sins. And I will make them pay for it,' Cersei hissed trough gritted teeth. Her eyes were cold and full of hate. Anthea knew this Cersei, the cold and hard one.
The handmaiden looked like she would rather die than be in the same room as Cersei. Anthea couldn't blame her. Her mother truly was a scary person when she was mad. She was even a scary person when she wasn't.
Cersei faced Anthea. The coldness disappeared from her blue eyes. She took her daughters hand and smiled softly.
'I won't ever let someone harm you. I will avenge your sister. By killing this one first,' she said while turning her head to the trembling girl next to her daughter. The poor maiden fell to her knees and begged the queen mercy. Anthea softly tapped her on the shoulder.
'I won't hurt you, Alayane,' Anthea promised. The handmaiden looked up to her queen and wiped away her tears. A look of relief on her face.
'But I will.'
With those words, Cersei stabbed the girl in the neck. Anthea screamed as she tried to stop her mother, but Cersei pushed her away.
The blood started pouring out the girls body. The queen started crying as she saw the face of Alayane turn cold and pale.
When Cersei was done, she remained silent. You could hear nothing, but the sobs of the queen.

'Little dove, stand. You are the queen. The queen doesn't mourn unimportant peasants.'
'She wasn't a peasant,' Anthea whispered angrily. 'She was my friend and my handmaiden and you killed her for no reason. You are just as cruel as that murderer that killed my sister.'
'Get dressed. The small council is waiting for you.' With that her mother left the room.
As soon as she was gone, Anthea crawled to the dead body of Alayane. She took her face in between her hands and pressed a kiss to her forhead.
'I am sorry, Alayane.'

I Became a [Biologist] in a Fantasy World!
I loved Biology - always have, and always will. Unfortunately for me, years of fruitless research whittled away what little joy I had left in what I did. Escapism came in the form of reading isekai works, where the stresses of real life seemed so far away.Luckily, I was summoned to a fantasy world of magic, dragons, and other mythical beasts. I didn't even need to deal with the Demon Lord threat, since it seemed that my summoning was a mistake, and all they needed was the Hero who was coincidentally summoned together with me! There was no revenge subplot, no hidden trap directed against me, and they even paid me compensation for their mistake. At long last, I could finally do what I ever wanted to do - experiment for the fun of it!With my new class as a [Biologist], none of this fantasy world's mysteries will be left untouched. Even if the Demon Lord himself comes knocking, nothing will stop me from researching every nook and cranny there is to discover of the magical biology of this world! ----I write extremely casually, and purely for leisure. Updates will likely be irregular, depending on when inspiration strikes and whether I can spare the time to work on this. Don't expect too much out of this, and certainly not anything close to professional quality! Inspired by an overconsumption of Japanese light novels, manga, and anime... expect their influence to slowly but surely take hold.
8 213Apocalypse King: Progression System LitRPG
Hail, Apocalypse King! A LitRPG where the MC fights the System Apocalypse Invaders with military training, dark magic, and a Humanity, Fuck Yeah attitude! Hounded by trauma from combat and his childhood upbringing, Sergeant DeSean Solomon left the U.S. Marines and attends college alone. While at a house party, the world as DeSean knows it ends. All of humanity receives a System notification. Do you wish to be saved from the taint of chaos? A countdown starts. Time is of the essence. To say yes will transform you into a monstrous zealot controlled by a genocidal eldritch invader. To say no is to be marked for the slaughter and forced into a high-stakes and vicious survival game. Even with the introduction of system progression stats, magical powers, and contracts with otherworldly creatures, all signs point toward the earth and its people getting subjugated. Or suffering a worse fate. Unless DeSean has a say in it. When the end of the world comes knocking, it's not a hero or someone with a special bloodline that rises to the occasion. It's a slightly demented Marine Veteran who storms the breach, summoning demons, evoking dark magic, and using all of his military skills and System Skills to bring down the enemy. 8 272Dragon's Soul
Synopsis of my story, A young boy faces the end of his life, born a genius, gifted with an incredible memory and a passion for knowledge. As he takes his last breathe his life flashed before his eyes , from an early age he had been like a sponge soaking in all the knowledge around him, science, history, culture, literature, and even military strategy he absorbed it all. But as his life was coming to an end he scorned all his knowledge, what was the point of knowing everything when you weren’t even able to protect yourself or the ones you loved. As the boy closed his eyes for one final time,he laughed at how blinded he had been about the world and people and thought that if there was indeed a next life he would obtain power, power to protect himself and his loved one. And so this marked the end of his life, but for some, the end is only the beginning. My first story so it won't be too great so bare with me as I try to get better.
8 392I Only Wish I Had a Cliché Adventure
There are many legendary stories about the greatest hero ever known. A hero who owns many names. Or that's how the public speaks of him. The truth, however, is something very different. The real story talks about a man, whose life was filled with books and his own made-up adventurer stories. But as he ran out of his parent's inheritance, he was forced to get an odd job. But what he ended up doing was accidentally killing the strongest Demon King known. As the law stated, he gained the strongest title one can have - Hero. The title so powerful, that even the greatest show some respect. But sadly, that was only the beginning of his story. As a fresh title owner, he now had responsibilities of the hero, which weren't easy. Being weak - without any known powers or experience - there was now a lot on his plate. And not all responsibilities and worries were about fighting or even dangerous... This is the writing of the legend himself. The Nameless Hero's Chronicles. But then again... Let the man speak for himself... ---- Thank you, everyone, who have decided to follow my writing. I appreciate each and every one of you. 8 263Of Sheep & Sisters (Tales of the Axe Book 2)
The indominatable Fraker the Axe returns! This time in the company of his older sister, this collection of short stories set in the fantasy Six Worlds of Shtar is a tongue in cheek look at what a great hero gets up to in between the times of legends and when prophecy isn't really telling him what to do. From a kitten and a rosebush, to a civil war, Fraker stumbles from one "adventure" to the next, never quite comfortable with the world outside the battlefield he was bred for.
