When April reached the wall it was bordering on midnight.

There were no soldier guarding the back of the wall, this made April a little afraid. When she came to the wall for her Father's birthday, there had been soldiers all over the place.

If they weren't at their post means that they must've been needed else where and that scared April to death.

"Do you think it's strange that I want to sleep with a troll woman."

"How many times will we speak of this Walton?, must you always bring up your grotesque fetish."

"I just want to know if there's something-"

"They are 4 feet tall, corpulent, green women with huge noses and gigantic tits. I understand your attraction but I do not want to talk about it anymore."

"I don't know how I started seeing them this way-"

"Ask Ethan he speaks the trollish tongue, perhaps you can get you a blowjob from those pigs."

April approached the guards.

"Is general Kenya here?" She asked smoothing her hand over her tainted dress.

"And you are?" One of the guards asked

"April Kenya" April replies.

"The flower of the south." The other guard said.

April furrowed her brows.

"Just April is fine."

"I'll call the general you stay right ther-"

"Call me for what?" The general said appearing behind the two guards.

"Father, mother sent me here. We have to talk." April said and her father pushed passed the two guards revealing himself as a tall burly man with a long thick black bread and a shaved head.

He wore the guard protection mats as well as black pants, neck protection and black gloves.

"April?, what are you doing here darling?!, shouldn't you be preparing for your wedding or something more scandalous."

"Wedding?, What do you mean by wedding?" April asked.

"Have you grown dumb dear?, your wedding to our king?"

"Father, I'm April." April said and the old man laughed.

"Alright your majesty, you can come out now. Your practical jokes are never funny." General Kenya said looking around. April turns to look with him, unsure of what was going on

with her usually mentally stable father.

"Father... it's me April." April said quietly this time, afraid to embarrass her father.

"I KNOW IT'S YOU APRIL, BUT WHAT IN THE SUN GODDESS'S NAME IS GOING ON HERE?"

"Mother sent me because Akia is marrying the king on your approval." April said, the man in front of her starts to laugh.

"... why would Akia be marrying the king when you are ?" General Kenya asked.

"Father, The king asked for Akia's hand in marriage and not my own."

"What you're trying to tell me is that Akia is in the palace right now..? What you're trying to tell me is that the king tricked me into giving permission for him to marry my Akia?"

The general said, his voice barely below a whisper.

"Father- you didn't know?" April asked and the man snapped.

"OF FUCKING COURSE I DIDN'T KNOW." The man snapped, Donovan winced at the loud sound and the guards behind him straightened up.

"Get my horse." The General commanded

".. the vampires-"

"I SAID FUCKING GET MY HORSE."

"YES GENERAL." Both the guards said before jogging away.

"How long?"

"A couple weeks sir-"

"A couple weeks, my little girl has been trapped in that dreadful place for a week." The General said walking toward Donovan and Rose.

"Who are this?"

"This is rose, she lives in the village a little while from here-"

"Not her, I know rose quite well, I meant this thing right next to her."

Donovan's head fell, avoiding eye contact.

It was nature for his kind to show submission to those stronger than them. A way for them to look less threatening and therefore guarantee their survival.

"His name is Donovan, we've been traveling together for a while now." April answered.

"Traveling nights together too?." General Kenya asked.

"Yes sir- but there's nothing intimate about our relationship."

"Is that so?" General Kenya asked eying Donovan.

"Not at all." Donovan answered in one breath.

"Good, then he won't mind going off on his way now." General Kenya said and April stared at Donovan who looked at her with pleading eyes. She narrowed her eyes and shook her head in a manner saying ' I can't save you this time' .

"I-I don't remember which way home is." Donovan said in a stutter. April started laughing until her father turned to look at her, she choked at the harshness of the stare before starting a coughing fit.

The two guards bring back a black stallion.

April jumps on her horse and Donovan goes to get on as well but he's pulled down quickly by the general.

"Where do you think you're going roach?" He asked Donovan who gulped as he gestured to the general's high horse.

As Donovan got closer the horse started to jump and make loud noises of discontent.

"I don't like you either buddy." Donovan mumbled under his breath before he Was briskly lifted and thrown on top of the tall horse.

The general put a smaller man in charge before climbing onto his house and ridding into the forest with Donovan on his back, struggling awkwardly to find a comfortable place to hold on on the bumpy horse ride.

"I'll tell you something right now, my April isn't to be wed to any man."

"You were going to let her marry the king-"

"The king is hardly just a man. Get any ideas of any of that out of your head."

"Can I ask why you don't want any of your daughters getting married." Donovan asked and the general slowed down his horse.

"Women are often treated worse than servants in the house of cold hearted vile men. They're used as breeding stock and punching sacks. My children are my entire world. To think about letting them be used as objects rather than humans is too dreadful of a thought."

"Couldn't someone prove themselves, prove themselves as a warm hearted kind person."

" don't you get any ideas."

The horse started moving faster and April and rose struggled to keep up the pace.

The general seemly disconnected with everyone, rides restlessly. Sometimes even leaving behind the rest of the crew.

The moment April had let the words leave her mouth she had regretted it. The expression of pure betray on her Father's face was enough to say that whatever was going to follow this reaction was not going to be good.

The man was furious, his face twisted in a way that abandoned his usually youthful face and feel.

Neither the less, April remains silent. She stirs her horse just as recklessly as her father and does her very best to catch up with him.

They had stopped at a farm and per the general's request, Donovan was given a horse.

The horse struggled as Donovan tried to get on but Donovan's persistence got him on the horse.

Donovan was on his own horse now behind April , he rode the horse as if it was his first time and the tall woman behind him struggled as well.

They pass through fields of corn made for the military, passed through fields of fruits and vegetables and into a dark forest.

By this time, the sun had set halting all travel for the night.

The only sound that were audible now were the sounds of birds, crickets and the occasion hissing of a hissing cockroach.

April resented the smell of the forest, hates the sound of small reckless animals and the sounds of the big hungrier creatures also taking shelter in the forest.

She felt unsure falling asleep, especially when Charlie was here, completely unprotected.

She closed her eyes and turned on her side so she was on the side that Charlie was and let herself just drift in her mind, letting her hearing strain at the lose of sight.

Donovan was shaking.

He could smell so many different scents and hear so many different sounds all too loudly.

His body was burning hot, sweat was sizzling on his skin and he had this eternal feeling as if his skin felt like it was melting.

He turned around looking at April, his night vision was completely blurry and yet when it adjusted it was too keen on details.

He was so hot and uncomfortable.

A groan slips passed his lips and then a growl threatens to get out but he covers his mouth hoping to keep all his animalistic characteristics in.

He was trying not to cry or panic any more than he already was, he was the only member of his pack who'd never had a rut and on his first one he was in the woods with humans.

His nose was stretching he could feel it. The first crack of bones was frightening loud in his ear.

His bones were cracking to make his wolf's psyche.

April turned around to hear whimpering and groans from besides her. She looked over to see Donovan with his clothes off shivering and sweating with his entire body.

"Are you alright?" April asked and Donovan's breath hitched at the smooth voice. When no answer came April began to worry, she sits up to stand and then walks to where the man was laying.

At first glance Donovan looked like he was having a fever but as April look closer she saw a wound on his back. A big nasty Avulsion. A gasp left her lips as she ran to his side.

A snap was heard and she turns around fearing that some animal had smelled the blood and had gathered an interest.

There was another snap, a crack of some kind, louder this time and right in front of her. When she turned to look the only thing left to see was a wet spot on the floor and traces of broken off and fallen pieces of tan skin.

"DONOVAN-" April yelled into the woods.

Multiple howls was the only response.

-

"Wake up, Michael ... hey.. wake up."

There was a light patting on Michael frozen cheek. Michael's frozen eye lashes fluttered open, his eyes opening to see clast in front of him.

"What happened to you?"

"I think the witches did something" Michael mumbled and clast nodded.

"Why didn't they just kill you?" Clast asked and Michael snickers.

"Don't sound so disappointed." Michael said as he stood up and got on his feet.

"So what happened?" Michael asked

"They killed them selves, now the witch doctor is trying to find out what spell they planted before they died."

Clast replied.

Akia was helped up by maids, she avoided eye contact with her mother and any other type of contact.

She was completely in shocked.

As she was about to exit the room her mother grabbed onto her dress sleeve.

Her mother pulled her into an embrace and whispered into her ear.

"In two days I'll bring you the potion, put them in your soup every morning for 3 weeks and then poof, The king will realize that you are not the one and he'll let you leave."

"What if he finds out I hurt the baby..."

"You're Akialine Kenya, who could imagine you'd do such a thing" her mother said and the words sunk into Akia's skin and itched like chicken pox.
