Aquila and Edward are sitting on the deck with a dramatic watefrall fountain shimmering behind them. A waitress placed a plate of lasagna, four garlic breads and two glasses of coke.
"Are you sure you don't want anything to eat?" The waitress who had been eyeing Edward asked.
"I'm sure." Edward said without even looking at the waitress, his attention focused solely on Aquila who had been staring into space. The waitress grumbled under her breath as she walk away, not liking the lack of attention from Edward.
The moment Aquila sat, everything that happened finally sinked in. She was almost taken advantage of. If Edward didn't come for her rescue, she would've either exposed herself or she'd be dead by now. She knew Edward said something about Bella being involved and she can't let Charlie know.
If Charlie knew, Andromeda, Narcissa and hell, even Bellatrix would know. Bellatrix might hate Aquila but she hated muggles more. And a muggle taking advantage of a pureblood witch, especially a Black, is as good as dead. Plus if Bellatrix knew, she'll surely tell Evan Rosier, Aquila's uncle or was it cousin? But Aquila knew Evan wanted Aquila to join them even if it means putting Aquila under the imperious curse forever.
Aquila turned towards Edward and looked at him in the eyes, "Nobody must know about this. The frat boys didn't happen okay?"
"Why? Aquila you understand that this encounter is caused by your cousin right? Bella might do something to you again if we let this go easily." Edward stated matter of factly. It was clear Bella wanted Aquila to get hurt and he can't let his mate be in the same house as the person who wants to harm her.
"No, Edward. If we tell Charlie, he'll tell my aunts and it wouldn't end up well. Believe me in this, yeah?" She asked with pleasing eyes.
He sighed and nodded at her which made the young Black smile and kiss his cheeks on instincts. Aquila started to eat while Edward froze. His mate is driving him crazy. He was thankful that she didn't ask why he wasn't eating but then he feared he already knew about him. What made him afraid is that despite her possibly knowing what he is already, she still wasn't running away from him.

"How did you know where I was? Can you see the future or something?" Aquila asked. Maggie told her Cold Ones have gifts and her gift is knowing if someone was lying. Maybe her best friend was a vampire seer?
"What makes you think that?"
"Are you stalking me, Eddie boy?" Aquila teased which made Edward chuckle.
"No, AC. I was keeping my distance until you need my help." Edward stated matter of factly. Aquila almost laugh at Edward's use of the nickname he came up. He said he couldn't choose which one is better, Aquila or Callisto so he told her he'd prefer AC to be his personal nickname for her.
"That's basically stalking, mate! Keeping distance, following, po-tay-to, po-ta-tow. Now tell me how you knew where I was?" Aquila said, rolling her eyes at the denial vampire.
"I wanted to stey in the sahdows but then I heard what those low lives were thinking--"
"So you're a mind reader. Hmm... interesting." Aquila said while nodding as she bites into the garlic bread.
Edward smiled at his mate, "I can read every mind in this room except yours." He said as he looked around the restaurant, Aquila following his gaze. "Work, sex, money, sex, sex, cat. With you, nothing. It's frustrating and painful. I can't read Bella's thoughts too but her mind is just blank, unlike yours that makes me feel like I'm being stabbed and burned every time I try reading yours."
"Well, I'm bloody awesome. That shouldn't be a surprise anymore." Aquila said smugly which made Edward snort before they both bursted into laughter. But then Edward stopped and looked at her with seriousness. This made Aquila stop laughing too. "What?"
"I don't have the strength to stay away from you anymore." He said with all honesty. "It has been a while since I met someone who..."
"Who what?" Aquila prompted nervously.
"Who makes me happy." Edward answered which made Aquila let off a relieved sight. "Finished?" He asked, in which she nodded after drinking her second glass of coke. "We should go."

The car ride wasn't silent for long. Aquila went bored with the comfortable silence and started to play Abba on the radio. She sang along with Dancing Queen and Take a Chance on me. Then she forced Edward to sing along with her to Voulez-Vous, Mamma Mia, Angel Eyes and Waterloo. The two were having the time of their lives singing along when something caught their attention.
As they passed on the Forks police station, they saw a sheriff car pull away. Charlie's cruiser is still parked outside the station. This made Aquila worry. Charlie is supposed to be home now.
"Uncle C is here late. Something must have happened." Aquila noted. Edward understood what she wanted so he parked outside the station and got out of the car with Aquila.
"That's my father's car. What is he doing?" Edward asked.
They saw Charlie and Carlisle studying photographs and evidence in distress. As they wrap up the discussion, they saw the two teens approach them. Carlisle exited the police station with a grim look.
"Hello Dr. Cullen. What happened?" Aquila asked.
"Hello, Aquila. Waylon Forge was found in the woods out near his place. I just examined his body." Carlisle answered.
This made Aquila look horrified as Edward pulled her closer to him. He could hear how her heart races and this made his face darken. He will not let anyone influct fear onto Aquila.
"He died? How?" The girl asked.
"Animal attack." Carlisle
"Was it like the same one that killed the security guard in Mason County? I heard about it from Uncle C a week or so ago."
"Most likely." Carlisle agreed.
"So it's getting closer to town. I better go to Uncle C. Mason was Uncle C and mom's friend. By Dr. Cullen." Aquila said. Before running inside to comfort her uncle, she gave Edward a tight hug.
Edward smiled softly at his mate's figure. This didn't go unnoticed by his father.
"You're falling for her, aren't you?" The doctor asked.
"Yes. And it isn't just because of the mate bond. The bond eliminated my urge to kill her. But... she's the one giving me a million reasons to love her." Edward smiled. This made Carlisle happy so he patted his son in the shoulder.
Aquila hugged Charlie tightly the moment she was near him. Charlie couldn't stop a couple of tears escape. No one but his adopted sister had seen past his strong front before. And now, he had Aquila. Aqula and Luna are the only people who could make him cry. He begged Aquila to take a pepper spray with her all the time. He knew his niece is more than capable to handle herself. She is a witch after all. And above all else, she is Luna Black's daughter.
As Charlie and Aquila went home, the young Black took it upon herself to cheer her uncle up. So she searved him butterbeer and ordered some pizza they could eat with it. The two were too busy talking about Luna Black as Charlie tell Aquila stories about her mother. Aquila also told him some stories about her childhood especially her time at Hogwarts.
It was safe to say that Charlie almost marched out of the house with a shotgun after hearing about Aquila's encounter with a basilisk in her second year. He wanted to shoot the irresponsible headmaster that put his niece at risk but Aquila calmed him down by telling him that Albus was already dead.
They were oblivious about the nosy teenager who had been searching the net and scanning a book about cold ones in her room. Bella Swan finally found out about the Cullen's secret. She could use this as a leverage for Edward to stick with her instead of Aquila.
Meanwhile, at the Cullens household, Alice was sucked into a vision. Then her eyes met Edward as the whole family stood around her and Jasper.
"Bella knew. She'd want to talk to you tomorrow." Alice said which made Rosalie growl.
