This takes place about almost three months after Jack, Pt. 1 Prequel and Daxamite. The news of the spaceship and mini-invasion went global, so Lena knew everything. Lena's twenty-three.

"Jack!!!"

"What?" His head shoots up from whatever science he's reading on and immediately stands up when Lena bursts into the garage.

"I'm going to National City!!" she tells him, her hands shaking with excitement.

"That's great, Lena. That's amazing."

She cocks her head and an eyebrow at him. "You don't sound enthusiastic." He sighs and looks away from her. Lena takes his hands and looks up at him. "Talk to me, Jackie."

"I just don't want you to go. We're so close I just don't see you leaving this. Leaving me," he whispers the last part.

"Jack, you're an intelligent man. I need to go rebuild my name and company that my brother and father left behind. I know you can figure it out- with or without me."

"That's the thing, I don't want to do it without you." He looks back into her eyes.

"What are you saying, Jack?"

"I'm saying I love you, Lena. I don't want you to go, I want you to stay here and try and find a cure for cancer with me. Please. It's either me or National City."

Lena lets go of his hands and steps back. Other than Sam and Maggie, it's been a while since she's heard those words from someone else. Her mind automatically goes to Kara, the only other person she's loved in her life.

She shakes her head. "Honestly, I'm flattered, Jack, but I-I can't. We can't do this."

"Why not? Nothing can stop us, Le-"

"Yes, there is, because there's someone else," she snaps at him. She sighs as she regrets snapping at him. "I never told you because I thought it wasn't important." She scoffs at herself for being so arrogant. "Guess I was wrong."

Jack's mouth goes into a line. "So who is he, then?"

She chuckles at the thought of her smile, her laugh, and also that he inferred that it was a guy she was in love with. "I'm not saying her name."

His face falls a bit as he realizes his accusation. "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-"

"No, no it's fine, Jackie. A lot of people do it. It's not just you." She rubs her upper arm as she tries to find something else to talk about. "My flight leaves in a little less than a month. I really am sorry, Jack. But this is a big opportunity for me. To find somewhere new and try to make a difference for my name."

He nods his head slowly. "Okay. Okay. You go, then. I know you'll do great."

She gives him a weak smile. "I know you will, too." To her surprise and Jack's, she gives him a hug. "Goodbye, Jack."

"Goodbye, Lena."

Lena gathers her supplies and walks out of the garage, leaving a heartbroken man, standing there alone.
