"My brother is taking sometime to research our family history in Italy. In his absence I will do my best to lead Sparrow Industries." Luca spun a simple lie about Marcello's disappearance. "I thank you for your time today. I have no further comments."
The reporters continue to call Luca's name as he steps back into his house. Luca walks the stairs to his brother's room. Luca made the decision to have Marcello recover in his house. After all Luciano can care for his brother himself. With the help of some nurses, his wife and of course Anna he had no doubt Marcello would make a full recovery.
Opening the door he finds Anna desperately clinging to Marcello.
"Anna, you need to get some rest."
"I'll sleep when he wakes up."
"He'll shoot me when he finds out I didn't take care of you." Luca says lightheartedly and Anna manages a small smile.
"Will he be ok?"
"Are you asking me as his doctor or as his brother?"
"Luca..."
"He is tough Anna. Marcello doesn't let anything go with out a fight. I'm certain he will pull through." Luca says not taking his eyes off his brother's unmoving body. "But you need to eat and shower."
"I-"
"I'm not taking no for an answer Anastasia. Marcello will be here waiting for you. Get something to eat and have a shower and I'll sit with him."
Anna reluctantly stands from Marcello's bedside and walks towards Luca. She kisses his cheek before starting towards the door.
"Thank you." Luca's voice stops Anna before she reaches the hallway. Anna turns to face him with her eyebrows furrowed.
"For what?"
"For loving him."
...
It has been two weeks since the shooting. Marcello's wound is almost healed but he still has shown no signs of waking up. Anna holds his hands, her head resting on his chest. Dry tears coat her face but that is nothing compared to the birds nest on top of her head.

"I love you. I hope you know that." Anna whispers to the peaceful looking Marcello, her voice muffled slightly against his chest. "I wish it was me."
"We would have all feared for our lives then." Eddison's voice snaps Anna out of her reverie. "It is that time of day Anna. I'll sit with him while you shower and eat."
Anna leans forward pressing a kiss to his forehead. The hand she is holding she squeezes tight. In his ear she whispers in Italian.
"Ritornero il mio amore."
The movement is so slight Anna almost convinces herself she imagined it. When it happens again Anna gasps and Eddison's eyes go wide. The two women hold their breath as the injured Italian starts to wake.
Marc's eyelids start to flutter and Anna squeezes his hand even tighter. Eddie leaves the room in search of her husband and Anna wait with baited breath as she stares at the man she loves. He squeezes her hand for a third time and this time his lips part slightly.
"S-Sie..."
"Marc. Talk to me. I'm here." Anna's voice is desperate.
Marc's eyes flutter open and he tries to sit up. Anna's knees goes weak at the sight of those piercing green eyes.
"Woah. Take it easy." Anna says softly.
"S-Sien..."
"Let me get you some water." Grabbing a glass from the nightstand she helps him take a sip.
"T-Thank you." Marcello croaks out. "Where is Sienna?"
The question makes Anna freeze on the spot. Her breathing stops and she feels her hands go cold.
"W-What d-do you remember?" Anna stutters willing herself not to cry.
"My stupid brother decided that rock climbing would be a nice double date activity. I'm guessing I fell right?"

"Y-Yeah. That's it." Anna says biting back a sob.
"Did Luca hire you to look after me? Bastard can't even look after me himself." Marcello mutters playfully and Anna can't help but notice how different this Marcello is.
"N-No I... H-He-"
"Anna is he-" Luca cuts Anna off marching into the room. Eddie is close behind him. Luca stops short when he sees his older brother awake.
"There he is, the idiot who thought rock climbing would be fun!" Marcello says with a smile his eyes darting between Luca and Eddie.
"Rock climbing?" Luca and Eddie question together.
"Marc we haven't been rock climbing since-"
"Where is Sienna?" Marc asks ignoring Eddie.
"Sienna?"
"My girlfriend you dick." Marc laughs at his brother.
Not being able to take anymore Anna starts towards the door.
"Anna wait-"
"I should be going." Anna cuts Luca off. Unable to bring herself to look at Marc she stares at her feet as she talks. "I hope you feel better soon Mr Morretti." She says quickly hurrying out the door.
"Anna!" Anna hears Luca calling her but doesn't slow down. Anna walks out of the estate. Pulling her phone out of her back pocket she calls a cab.
"Anna what are you doing?"
"Leaving."
"He will remember."
"No-"
"He will Anna and then he will kill me when he realises I let you go."
"Or he won't remember and I will be left loving a man who has no idea who I am."
"Anna please-"
"I can't Luca." I cab pull up beside them and Anna opens the door.
"Where will I find you?"
"You won't" Anna says sliding in to the cab.
"What am I going to tell him when we remembers?" Luca eyes please with Anna.
"Tell him I love him."

The General Core {The Sphere}
The life cycle in the Sphere is on the brink of collapse because one of its elements, the Dungeons, have been exploited too much by the mortals. The group who created the Sphere already tried and failed with several modifications, because the original computer-like dungeon cores are too inflexible to handle changing approaches. So they try another type of solution – taking souls from other worlds to try to find a solution before the Sphere Cycle breaks down completely. The General was one of the best soldiers of his world, rising from the ranks of a private through Officer School to the highest command with honors. But when his world faced a zombie apocalypse, even that was not enough and he had to make the ultimate sacrifice. Now he is asked for a repeat performance of planning and controlling a dungeon and its spawns in a world that he knows nothing about… But what is the Sphere really? What is that [Xenotic conversion] he has to go through to even enter the Sphere? Something is really strange and he will have to find out what is going on to get to his promised rewards – whatever they will be. Being a soul in a dungeon core means that the General has better chances of finding hints to the truth about the sphere – a knowledge that would help him survive. And no, the sphere is NOT a virtual reality – the key to its secrets is the place where it was physically constructed (Author’s hint). This is a dungeon core story - but there are quite a number of things that I will do differently than common to those stories. 1) I will describe the floors when they are explored, NOT when they are build. Yes, that will mean it will take longer to get to those parts - but I think describing floors both when they are build and when they are explored destroys quite a lot of chances for suspense when adventurers enter the dungeon. After all, if you as the reader already know where the traps are, then you can't really be surprised when the surfacers encounter them. 2) How the world works (and how not) is an integral part of the story, so it will be explained I'm a world-builder first and the Sphere is NOT a regular world (as hinted in the synopsis above). Things will work differently than in your 08/15 default dungeon core stories - as the General and Gunny have already learned in the second arc (and more of that is already scheduled for the next weeks (July/Aug 2019) when the Sky Arrows continue to explore and evaluate that strange dungeon) If you don't like these premises, then I'm sure you'll find a lot of other Dungeon Core stories more to your liking. But if you are interested in more than "Dungeon builds another room and corridor in medieval earth" and are not afraid of a longer and slower story, then go on. I have two more stories in the Sphere, although they both have lower priority than this one: Shaleen the Wanderer (Adventurer, NSFW) (currently on hold after some chapters) Info's on the Sphere (System Docu and Short Stories) (irregular updates when needed) Current Status reports have been moved to a new discord server: https://discord.gg/EaHkXCfm9y

GLADIUS // Eret X Reader
PHANTASM SERIES BOOK 4---Gladius, (noun): (in ancient Rome) a short sword.---Eret perked up as soon as you and Simon walked into the room, a wide and welcoming smile coming onto his face. He was softer looking than his father had been, but you could still see some of the similar traits. He had a head of thick dark curls, and the same sharp jaw that his father had had. He wasn't as bulky though - he was tall and thin - and his face was a lot more open. What separated him most from his father's likeness though was the colorful cape, and the large mirrored glasses he wore - swirling with colors reflected from the room. He stood from his seat when Maven let the doors swing shut behind her, that wide smile still on his face. "You must be the embassy.""And you must be King Eret." You said, stooping into a bow. "Oh, there's no need for that." Eret said as you rose from your bow. He stepped down from the dias where his throne sat - colorful cape trailing behind him - and came to stand in front of you, taking your hand instead. "I'm not really one for formalities." He grinned, shaking your hand. His palm was warm against yours, and you could feel some slight callouses - most likely from practicing his sword work.
