Ava continued to read the message in the small card, which was simply a short statement that Beatrice had written on the card with the present she had just left on her study table. When she was sleeping, she felt Beatrice's presence and the kiss Beatrice had given on her forehead.

She couldn't get the scene where she almost kissed the older girl out of her thoughts, so Ava told herself that she had never liked a female before and had never imagined having one because, for all she knew, she was exclusively drawn to boys.

Ava is unsure of how to behave at the time, and she is ashamed rather than awkward in front of Beatrice. Her body was instantly filled with a fearful feeling, and her mind began to rumble with a variety of thoughts. When she heard a faint knock on the door, she was jolted out of her reverie.

She got out of bed and walked over to the door, a little sluggishly. She unlocked it and was taken aback when she was kissed on the lips, and she knew who it was the moment those lips contacted hers. JC. She nearly forgot that after that brief meaningful conversation with Beatrice on the beach, she decided that giving her and JC another chance isn't such a bad idea after all.

"Good morning sunshine. How'd you sleep?" JC asked, smiling sweetly like he usually does.

"I, uh. It was great. I'm still sleepy but I'll just sleep later after I eat and drink my medicine." Ava responded.

"I figured, I brought you breakfast. It's your favorite blueberry pancake with your favorite black coffee." JC said.

"Strawberry pancakes were my favorite and I drank coffee with milk, babe. Remember?" Ava replied.

"Oh shoot. I guess... I was thinking about my favorite." JC said. Ava gave a gentle chuckle and motioned for him to take a seat near her. Just before they were going to dine, JC opened the lunchbox he had brought with him. Ava feigned to look into the lunch bag and see the delicious round pancakes, but her eyes was drawn back to Beatrice, who was standing on the small fridge looking for something. When she looked at Beatrice from behind, she saw for the first time how beautiful her back was.

Beatrice was dressed casually in a white polo shirt with long sleeves, black pants, and white and black high-top Converse. Beatrice wore her glasses, which made her look more gorgeous and simple; the dress, Ava could tell, was appropriate for an older girl. Ava snapped back to reality as Beatrice shut the lid of the little fridge.

"Are you okay, baby?" JC whispered to Ava.

"Huh? Uh yeah. I was just lost in my own thoughts." Ava said.

"Are you sure you can really work for the booth in the carnival? Maybe you need more rest babe." JC replied.

"I've been laying down since I was in the hospital, I need to do something at least." Ava said.

"Are you even sure?" JC asked. Right before she said anything, the door swung open and closed. Beatrice had left the dorm room, Ava felt something weigh on her but she couldn't put a word into it.

"Hmm yeah. I'm okay. This is my duty for today! I'm excited to meet the kids." Ava replied.

"This is all very heavy duty babe. Why don't you just stick with cooking food instead? Or prepare the cold drinks?" JC asked.

"Baby, I told you I'm fine! I can take care of myself. I didn't break any bones alright, I only hurt my head." Ava said.

"I'll just ask some of the boys in the food booth to help you out, alright? Don't want you to get too tired from overworking." JC replied. Ava smiled and just nodded her head.

JC was holding Ava's phone and browsing through her phone as they were eating and talking when he came across an album with a couple of photographs of Ava and Beatrice.

"You and your partner are getting close." JC said this while showing her a photo of herself and Beatrice, in which Ava has her right arm over Beatrice's nape and Beatrice has a serious expression on her face. Ava's cheeks were on fire after recalling that she and Beatrice were on the verge of kissing.

"Yeah. We are... Catching up." Ava replied with a nervous smile. She avoided eye contact just so she could hide her embarrassment.

"That's great. That could be the start of everything; you'll have new memories to make," JC said. "I mean, you've always wanted to catch up with her since the last time you saw her." Ava did nothing except nod her head. The couple continued to dine and converse about various topics, with JC primarily discussing football and his pals.

Ava was buried in her thoughts once more as she returned to the shore where she and Beatrice had almost kissed. Ava began cursing at herself once more. 'Perhaps I was hallucinating? Beatrice had no intention of kissing me. I misled her about what she was up to. That's what she does. That was something she did all the time when we were kids.' Ava pondered her thoughts.

Her heart was pounding in her ears. 'What's the matter with me?'

Beatrice had to inspect each booth to ensure that they had all they required. The carnival is about to begin, and the M.U. students will have a long day ahead of them. Her mind, though, keeps returning to the memory of her and Ava almost kissing.

She wondered if she kissed Ava, if she did, if Ava would smack her and shove her away. Be disgusted and vow to never speak to her again? What happens if they kiss and Ava realizes she made a mistake? She was having a lot of bad ideas in her head, but she was attempting to concentrate on her task. Beatrice was deep in thought when she felt a tap on the shoulder. She turned around to see Lea smiling and waving at her, and she also noticed Clara standing beside her.

Beatrice returned her glance to Lea when Clara nervously smiled at the council president and lowered her head. "Is there anything I can do to assist you?" Beatrice inquired as she returned her attention to what she was doing.

"Well, we're hoping you'll come to the after party after this event?" Lea inquired, but when Clara elbowed her, she groaned.

"Would you like to join in the kissing booth, as she put it? Just to get the ball rolling on the opening. Students from other institutions also attended, and the majority of them are huge fans of yours. So." Clara clarified.

Perhaps that would enable her to forget about what had almost transpired between her and Ava. Beatrice pondered it for a moment before nodding slowly, almost as if she agreed with the question.

"Hmm sure. If that would help." Beatrice finally answered.

"Don't worry, I'll make sure you're just making out with women." Lea smiled and winked at her. Beatrice rolled her eyes and went about her business. After that, Lea and Clara left Beatrice alone, and she was buried in her thoughts once more.

"Bea." Shivers ran up and down her spine when she heard a familiar voice. She turned around to discover Ava standing in front of her, dressed in a fitting v-neck white shirt with a brown belt, denim shorts with a brown belt, white rubber shoes, and nicely curled hair. She has a modest but gorgeous appearance.

"Bea?" Ava called her name again, Beatrice cleared her throat and pulled herself together.

"Ava, can I help you?" Beatrice asked as she moved away from the younger girl to avoid making eye contact with her or she would lose control and kiss her right away.

"I went to my stand and they said I should ask you about the changes because you changed my work," Ava said hesitantly.

"You're only going to work at one booth," Beatrice explained, "The popcorn and cotton candy stand with Sam and Dana, though those two will be helping out at the kissing booth, which you can assist with as well. But light works because you just got out of the hospital." She continued.

"Bea, you know I'm fine. I wasn't physically hurt anywhere else," Ava said, grabbing the older girl's arm. Ava was taken aback by the strength of the older girl's arm, and she was speechless.

"You still can't do hard duty," Beatrice stated, "so please stick to the new works I gave you." Turning around to face the younger girl, who returned her attention with a pout. Beatrice felt herself weakening but opted to fight it; she carefully lifted her hand and hesitated before softly patting Ava's head and walking away.

Ava walked away, heavy sighing, and went straight to the food stall, where she saw Sam and Dana setting up the tables and cups. When Sam noticed Ava arriving, she waved, and Camila, who was also present, grinned and raced up to her twin sister.

"Ava! I'm so glad you could come here; we were worried you'd stay in the dorm." Camila was the one who talked.

"Mila, every carnival, we have a little routine! Of course, I'm not going to miss it!" Ava hugged and replied to her sister.

"We're relieved to hear you're okay." Luna murmured this as she wrapped her arm around Camila, who leaned her head on Luna's chest and embraced her tightly. Ava thought it was both adorable and amusing.

Because Lilith is marrying Mary first, then Luna, and now Camila. 'If I, too, am astonished, our parents will be astounded.' Will be smitten by a woman.' As she heard that familiar voice with her british accent, Ava thought to herself.

With a clipboard in one hand and a pen in the other, Beatrice strolled by them, inspecting everything on every corner. "We have a lot of food stock, so don't be scared to sell as many as you can." Beatrice remarked.

"Until tonight's premiere, we had plenty. Also suitable for movie marathons." Beatrice nodded as Luna spoke.

"You know where to find me if there's an issue." Beatrice remarked.

"Don't forget about the kissing booth!" says the narrator. With a mischievous smile on her lips, Lea said to Beatrice. Ava cast a peek at Beatrice, who simply shook her head and continued walking away. After learning that Beatrice will be participating in the kissing booth fundraiser, Ava had a strange sensation in her stomach, as if her bowels were twisted.

"Are you all right?" Camila inquired of Ava, who simply nodded and smiled at her twin sister. As soon as the clock hit 10:30 a.m., the carnival event began. It was Friday, so there would be some visitors, including families, teenagers, and students from different colleges.

They all had their own occupations, with Ava distributing popcorn and cotton candy to the cheerful and laughing children. Ava was also simply assisting with the preparation of the fries and burgers. Since this morning, they've been selling a lot and taking turns shifting.

Ava was exhausted, but two more hours and they'd be on their way home, with Camila and Luna passing out in the back while Dana, Sam, and Lea served the food she had prepared. Sam then took over her culinary duties and informed her that she needed to rest and that JC would be waiting for her near the rollercoaster ride.

When Ava arrived at the location where JC was waiting for her, JC turned around clutching a teddy animal. It was a miniature panda with a heart in its hand. After seeing her partner holding something like that, Ava couldn't help but feel shy. JC suddenly became aware of Ava's presence and gave her a short smile.

"Hey there." Ava embraced JC with a hug.

"You're lovely, but you didn't appear to notice my messages. Is there an excessive number of customers?" JC expressed his thoughts.

"After the breaks, we took turns. Camila and Luna had been knocked out for the most part." Ava retorted.

"I got this for you at the game booth," says the narrator. JC expressed his thoughts.

"You didn't have to, babe. But this is so adorable, I adore it!" As soon as she had the small panda in her hands, Ava responded.

"And I... Love you." JC stated as he wrapped his arm around her and the two of them locked gazes. Ava moved in and kissed JC after a few seconds of staring at each other. They continued kissing as JC guided Ava to the side of the booth stand where it was a little darker. JC hoisted Ava up after she let out a small groan.

The atmosphere was heating up; Ava had no idea what was going on, but she was missing him. Of course, a part of her opposes what would happen next between her and JC, but she doesn't want to lose it, especially in front of a large crowd of children. Ava tried to push against JC's grip, but he wouldn't budge. For a few seconds, it kept on like this until they heard someone clearing their throat.

When Ava and JC saw Beatrice, they stopped kissing and turned to the left. Ava noticed how Beatrice's eyes went cold, just like the eyes she saw the first time she met her. Ava was humiliated and remorseful, and she felt compelled to apologize to the elder girl.

"They need you at the other food booth stand, Mr. Lawrence. Ms. Silva, you must be present in the vicinity of the kissing booth." Beatrice murmured something and walked away without looking back at the younger girl. Ava was immediately sad. Ava was perplexed, but she kissed JC goodbye and promised him she'd text him.

Ava dashed after Beatrice to catch up with the older girl, who didn't seem to notice her. "Are you mad, Bea?" Ava inquired, almost innocently, as to what they had done wrong. Beatrice didn't say anything and continued walking; Ava didn't appreciate the treatment and stood in front of her, placing her hand on Beatrice's chest to stop her.

Because Ava was gently pressing her hand on her chest, almost near her neck, Beatrice immediately came to a halt. She swallowed hard before gently grabbing her wrist. "I'm... I'm not mad at all, Ava." Beatrice said something gently.

"However, you addressed me as Ms. Silva." Ava murmured, giving the elder girl puppy eyes, which made Beatrice's stomach flutter. 'Fuck,' she thought to herself.

"Please accept my apologies, Ava. When there are a lot of people around, I'm used to being formal." Beatrice responded with a yes.

"So you're a fan of formality. So, Ms. President, let's get started." "Ava teased the elder girl," she remarked. She walked away, smirking at her as she moved towards the kissing booth where Sam and Dana were.

Beatrice spotted a large number of kids from other schools, as well as the opposing school's cheerleading squad. Everyone is going to give Beatrice points for kissing, but she doesn't seem to mind. During high school, she was always messing around, especially with Quinton.

Beatrice simply rolled her eyes when she remembered Quinton, who was in town with her child, Clara, who was still perplexed as to why Quinton had returned to their town and no one knew what she was up to. Beatrice didn't want to be bothered by a lady who had destroyed her and her life.

"She's right there! The alpha of this kingdom, our undefeated champion in swimming competition. Ms. Beatrice Hansen, our dearest council president! It's now your chance to bestow good luck kisses." Everyone began clapping their hands for Beatrice once the speaker said something to the microphone.

Beatrice walked up to the stage and dropped her belongings on the table next to Luna and Lea, while Ava stood beside Sam and Dana, knowing exactly what was about to happen. Beatrice will be able to kiss someone from the audience, and Ava will be envious?

'Ava, be quiet.' Ava remarked to herself.

"Alright! Only one individual will be chosen to kiss our beloved President! There's only one! Please, Roland, spin that spinner and choose one of the papers." According to the MC.

The anxious atmosphere, with everyone clapping their hands and wishing that they would be the ones to kiss Beatrice. The well-known lady. Everyone who was frightened to cross her path was looking forward to the moment when she would reveal who was the lucky one.

"And the lucky girl is!" exclaimed the MC, eliciting a gasp from the audience. Camila muttered to Ava as soon as he opened the small paper.

"On that piece of paper, I scribbled your name." Camila whispered to Ava just as the MC was announcing the winner's name.

"Ava Silva!" exclaims the speaker. The name was announced by the MC. Ava's eyes widened, and Beatrice found herself on the verge of collapsing.

"Oh my god. That was unexpected!" Camila was the one who talked.

"Mila!" Ava grumbled. Everyone began to clap, and Luna and Sam grabbed Ava and carried her up to the platform, where Beatrice was staring at her. She didn't move her gaze away from Ava, who was likewise taken aback by the unexpected event.

Ava muttered to herself, 'Shit.'

Beatrice muttered to herself, 'This can't be.'
