"So class I have some good news." Professor Jones interrupted the chatter amongst the students. "Your short story has been postponed to the end of the year." The class cheered, "However, it will now need to be a novel with no fewer than 20 chapter and each consisting of a minimum of 10 000 words." That got a gasp. "Don't worry, there's an upside to all this. Your piece about a person that should have been handed in today will be graded but you will have a chance to redo it and that will be your midterm."

Cass leaned over to me, "I don't know whether to be excited or nervous. I already started on my book and now I'll have to go back and edit it."

I understood her. Hunter had already read what I had written and he was impressed and gave me areas to improve on and ideas to add.

"I'll meet you some time and we can swop. Add anything on or give ideas." I suggested.

"And grammar! I tend to forget about it when I write really quickly."

I laughed, "Me too."

"Hey you wanna go grab some coffee?" Hunter was leaning over me, his arms on my desk.

"I can't today. Skylar, Ivy and I have our girl's day today."

Hunter nodded, "I remember now. I have some work to catch up on anyway."

I gave Hunter a kiss before he left and then turned to Cass, "You wanna come with?"

"Me?" Her eyes wide in surprise, "But I thought since the other night - "

"Drunk mistake." I shrugged, "I'll give you a second chance since this time you'll be more sober."

She laughed nervously before asking, "Skylar and Ivy won't mind? I mean I got the feeling that they didn't like me that much."

"It's not a problem. After all we're just going to the amusement park. Plus I think having four would be better since we can be in pairs for the rides.

"Thanks Emilia."

-

"You're inviting grinder?" Ivy asked. She was waiting outside for me to finish my class and Cass was still packing up.

I laughed at the name, "Yes. But I'll be there the whole time so don't stress. She does anything to or with my Hunter again and she'll be gone before she can say supercalafragalisticexpilalidousous."

"That's a long word." Ivy was looking at me with wide eyes.

"Well you gotta give me enough time to give her a good punch and kick her out of school."

"Emilia." Ivy laughed, "You're not punching anyone." She looked at something behind me before saying, "On second thought. Let me punch that bitch."

I turned around to look at the building and saw Cass with her arm resting on Hunter's shoulder. Her eyes were wide and she covered her mouth when she giggled. The noise travelled all the way to where Ivy and I were. Hunter was looking anywhere but her and kept trying to shift his shoulder to get rid of her hand.

"What the fuck is she doing?" Sky interrupted our staring.

"I'm seriously about to cut a - " Ivy started walking towards them.

"Just wait." I gritted my teeth and put my arm out to stop Ivy. "Give her a second to fix what she's just done."

We all gasped when we saw what she did next. She slowly leaned up to give Hunter a kiss on the cheek but before she could Hunter moved back, said something to her and then left. I smiled smugly to myself. Thankful and proud of Hunter.

"What happened to that punch?" Ivy asked still glaring at Cass.

"I'll deal with her later." I said as I ran off to Hunter and gave him a deep kiss making sure Cass saw. He was surprised but still smiled into the embrace.

"I love it when you get protective." He whispered once I pulled back.

"I'll see you at home." I whispered to him before casually walking back to the girls.

"I'll do some punching later if it's necessary." I said just before Cass arrived.

"Who's punching who?" Cass interrupted.

Ivy looked at me expectedly, worried that Cass would hear what we were speaking about, "My boxing session."

"You - " she gulped, "box?"

"Mhmm and she can knock anyone's lights out. You don't wanna get on the wrong side of Emilia." Ivy glared at Cass.

"Right." She nodded nervously.

-

"I swear if I go on the seashells one more time I'm going to throw up." Cass said stumbling over to the nearest bench.

Ivy and I high fived each other and looked for the next thrill ride.

"You scream that loudly for Hunter too?" Ivy bumped me with her hip as she teased me.

"Ivy! No! We haven't... Done that yet..."

Ivy raised her eyebrows, "You're telling me that Hunter, Hunter Maddox, has not slept with you yet?"

I rolled my eyes and glared at her.

"We're talking about the same Hunter, right?" She held her hands up defensively.

"Yes Ivy. By the way I think Theo's calling you." I looked down at the phone in her hands.

"Must be about the play." She tried covering up the smile that was slowly creeping into her face. "Theo, yeah?"

I walked away to join Skylar and Cass, "You guys okay? You look a bit pale."

"Why did we have to do the seashells five times in a row?" Cass breathed out.

I shrugged, "It was fun."

"You have a different idea of fun." Sky said. Her eyes were closed and she was leaning back. "Who's Ivy talking to?" She opened her eyes and nodded her head in Ivy's direction.

"Theo." I wangled my eyebrows.

Before Skylar could fangirl we were interrupted by the sound of someone throwing up. Cass was hunched over the closest bin.

"Sorry." She said as she wiped her mouth.

"I think that's our cue to go home." I announced. I creeped up behind Ivy to listen in to her conversation with Theo for awhile before grabbing her phone out of her hand and saying to Theo, "Leave your future girlfriend ALONE!"

Ivy glared at me and grabbed her phone back while Skylar was trying to suppress a laugh and Cass was just looking paler by the second.

"Grinder got sick, huh?" Ivy scoffed.

"Told you seashells were better than punching." I whispered back and we laughed evilly before walking back to the other two.

-

I silently creeped back into my apartment seeing Hunter sitting on the couch. I decided to creep up behind him and wrapped my hands around his eyes.

"Guess who?" I said in a gruff voice.

"Theo, baby, is that you?" Hunter mocked in a high pitched voice.

I rolled my eyes as Hunter pulled my hands off his eyes and gently pulled them forward to make me look at him.

"Oh. You're not Theo." He said faking disappointment.

"You suck." I said as I joined Hunter on the couch, snuggling into his embrace.

"That's your job, sweetheart." Hunter teased and I fake gagged. "I know you want it!" He started singing. I started pushing him back to try get out of his tight embrace. When I wouldn't stop moving he eventually let go but then he smirked at me.

"Oh no." I whispered as I saw Hunter's hands moving towards my stomach. "I'm not ticklish" I crossed my arms and tried to look intimidating.

"Is that so?" He was enjoying this too much.

"No! Hunter! Stop!" I breathed between laughing. "You can't tickle me!"

He cocked an eyebrow, "Is that a challenge, sweetheart."

"No Hunter please." I begged trying to cover my stomach and sides as his hands tickled me.

"Hunter I'm seriously gonna piss myself!"

"As long as you clean it up." He said with a smirk.

"Hunt, please." I squirmed trying to get away. By now tears were outing down my face as I unwillingly laughed. "This is torture."

So I stopped him the only way I knew I could. I kissed him. Immediately his hands stopped tickling me and instead moved to cup my face.

"You're beautiful." He whispered and I tried stopping the inevitable blush. "I got you a surprise."

"For what?" I said softly.

"Well we didn't celebrate our one month and that's like a milestone for couples like us, right?" I nodded, "and we've nearly been together for two months so I decided to make you a countdown gift." He smiled shyly. "Come on."

He slowly got off the couch and I followed him into my room where there were 10 bags waiting patiently on my bed.

"Are all of these for me?" I turned to look at Hunter who looked nervous.

He nodded, "You can open the first one now if you want?"

"Ten bags for ten days? Hunt you're brilliant." I walked over to the first bag that had a big ten on the side. I screamed when I saw what was inside.

"No way." I whispered staring down at the book in my hands. "It's beautiful." I realized I had started crying because I was so happy. "Hunter," I sniffled, "This is so amazing."

"I didn't know you'd like it that much." He laughed at me and gently wiped a tear away with his thumb.

"You got me a signed copy of The Selection Colouring Book. How could I not be crying right now?" We both laughed. "You didn't have to do this Hunt. You make me feel like the worst girlfriend for not getting you anything."

"I've got you and that's all I need." I put down the book and hugged him tightly.

He softly kissed my forehead and then held me closer to him,"You mean so much to me, sweetheart."

-

Nawww I need me a Hunter. Anyway as I'm sure you could tell by now... I'm kind of obsessed with The Selection series. I decided to include the coloring book because I actually recently got it for my birthday from my friend and I literally just started crying cause I was so happy and it's so stunning. Anyway there's this crazy thing I read called The Maxon (😍😍😍) Effect where basically after finishing The Selection you start liking guys with blonde hair more which definitely happened to me 😂😂 Please tell me I'm not the only one out there and that one of you have experienced this too 😂😂😂

And sorry for the delay in updating... Internet problems 🙄

Hope you still love this book enough even after the news I've given you to vote and comment.
