《Slam Poetry》Society Sucks
Advertisement
Its tragic that the society treats the death of a football player through an accident,
As one of the most heartbreaking things.
That society chooses to idolize their death.
That football player could have been the worse person.
Yet they idolize them as a God.
"Society sucks". A phrase stated after the suicide of a young girl.
Its ridiculous.
The girl has been bullied
Tormented.
Abused.
By the football player that you so idolized.
It isn't Society's fault that the football player died.
It is Society's fault that the girl died.
She had a life to live.
Valedictorian.
College.
Masters degree.
Doctorate.
Who knows.
And it is Society's fault.
But do you know why.
Society chose the football player.
Society made him the bully.
Society created the image of perfection, and threw it in the girls face.
But who created Society's image.
The people of the society of course.
You, her, him, the viewers.
Even me.
We shove the image of perfectionism into the faces of the young.
The innocent.
An impossible idea, that no one cared to correct.
So isn't it our fault.
"Society Sucks."
This is true.
But it's your fault.
And mine too.
Together we can do this.
We can make the world right.
We can correct the incorrect.
And show them the light.

Single Mother Cultivator: Determination to deny her naïve son a terrible destiny
Lucia Martinez had to fight for every little victory in her life, especially when she was responsible for raising a teenage son by herself. But when the teen gets summoned to another world by a dysfunctional martial sect as their would-be savior, she’ll have to fight harder than ever just to get him back. Brought along to a world of Eastern fantasy, Lucia finds herself face to face with obscure magical creatures, various rich cultures, and a familiar yet unique chi-based magic system that every faction has their own way of looking at. Single Mother Cultivator is as the title suggests, a Cultivation novel. Unlike other Cultivation stories, this one focuses on multiple Asian mythologies rather than just Chinese myth, and isn’t just a generic power fantasy. It explores the very nature of strength itself, and how it could and should be used. The foundational power system is the same for both major factions, with differences in their philosophies on how to pursue it. New chapters on Mon-Wed-Fri

Totally Not a Chosen Hero
Jesse's life just started to get great. He bought a comfy apartment, received an offer for a six-figure job, and scored a date with the girl of his dreams. But then, parallel world wizards magically kidnapped Jesse alongside a dozen of strangers. Has no one taught them consent?! The emperor and his confidants told Jesse and other earthlings that they were the Chosen Heroes and a bright future awaited them. Bullshit. That they just needed to learn magical combat at the academy, and then defeating Dark Lords would be easy-peasy. Oh yeah? That as long as they completed their sacred duty, they could choose to return to Earth or continue living on Aethelrend as kings and queens. No thanks. While other so-called Heroes were easily tricked by empty promises of power, riches, and even immortality, Jesse knew better than to believe his kidnappers. He was getting the hell out.

Shakespeare's 154 Sonnets (Completed )
Shakespeare's Sonnets is the title of a collection of 154 sonnets by William Shakespeare, which covers themes such as the passage of time, love, beauty and mortality. The first 126 sonnets are addressed to a young man; the last 28 to a woman. The sonnets are almost all constructed from three quatrains, which are four-line stanzas, and a final couplet composed in iambic pentameter. This is also the meter used extensively in Shakespeare's plays. The rhyme scheme is abab cdcd efef gg. Sonnets using this scheme are known as Shakespearean sonnets. Often, the beginning of the third quatrain marks the volta ("turn"), or the line in which the mood of the poem shifts, and the poet expresses a revelation or epiphany.
