《Falling for the Muslimah》Chapter 2

I went to my first class which was Physics, after a few minutes, the teacher entered the room and the class went silent. Our teacher was Miss Grace, a strict but wonderful teacher. She could explain anything very well and also gave detention easily. I've known her for a year now. She is really kind, but believe you do not want to get on her bad side.

Austin entered the room a few moments later and sat in front of me.

He sat down and turned to face me saying, "I'm sorry for the way I acted earlier".

I nodded and turned away, leaving my eyes to rest on the textbook on my desk.

I didn't expect an apology from "The Austin". I was really surprised.

"Class for this year, you have to work in pairs for a project. The one sitting in front of you will be your partner."

Like seriously I'm supposed to be working with that jerk. Great just great.

He turned around and said,"So we're partners".

"Yes I know, we'll start as soon as possible and don't waste time" I said while looking at his hand.

I stood up as soon as the bell rang to go meet Khaleel for science class. Luckily for him he got paired with Firdaus, I was just blabbing about how I didn't want to be paired with a jerk like Austin.

"Ooh well,'jerk' ? That's not nice of you" a heavy voice interrupted.

It was Austin. Great, could this day get any worse.

I told Khaleel that I'd talk to him later and gave him permission to leave.

"So what's your problem with me?" Austin asked.

"You should know why" I whispered.

"Okay but can I at least get your number, so that we could meet for the project?" Austin said.

I had to choice but to give it to him, just so to avoid any disturbances.

"Thank you" he said and left.

My eyes followed him when he left until I realized I was gonna be late for science class, and I was happy I wouldn't meet him there.

Alhamduillah (Thank God) for that.

I entered Miss Grace's class and my eyes immediately fell on Umaira. Never did anyone talk to me the way she did, but in someway I kinda deserved it. She was always wearing a towel on her head. I really don't get why Muslims need to wear those things. It doesn't make any sense. I'm an atheist so l don't really understand much about the other religions.

Anyways, Umaira was the type of girl that actually speaks her mind. She's very beautiful, she's very thin but doesn't show much due to the long blouse she wears everyday. She had green eyes that glow like emerald, rosy plump lips, perfect white teeth and a fair skin. I realized that when she was talking to me earlier.

I decided to apologize for my behavior. I looked at her and I could tell she really felt uncomfortable. She nodded and I turned my face back to the teacher. I know Umaira really hates me, maybe it's because I used to bully her a couple of times (Ok, maybe a lot of times), but I don't blame her, I would have felt the same way.
