The school week went by with nothing memorable happening. I wasn't officially dating Rodrick but we hung out a lot. Kim made a bet that he'd ask me to be his girlfriend on his date tonight and I pretended not to care.

It was Friday night and I was getting ready for a date with Rodrick. He never told me where we were going, he just told me to be ready.

I was wearing a black jean skirt with a cream-ish sweater.

I look out my bedroom window and I see his car outside my house. He honks the horn and I run downstairs.

I say goodbye to my parents and I hop into the front seat of his van.

"Hey, how are you" he asks me as I put on my seatbelt.

"You're really acting like we didn't see each other at school a few hours ago?" I ask him jokingly. He smirks at me.

"So you're ready for tonight?" He asks. "Uh what is it we're doing exactly?" I ask him.

"We're going to watch a movie" He says.

"What movie?" I say raising an eyebrow at him. "You'll see" He says confidently.

The rest of the car ride was filled with us joking around. We step inside the mall and walk to the movie theater.

"2 tickets to the watch the muddy hand please" Rodrick says to the lady at the counter. "The muddy hand? that's not even scary" I tell him.

"Sure, you aren't allowed to get scared then" He teases me. I roll my eyes.

After we got the tickets Rodrick went to get snacks and drinks while I checked my phone. I had a text message from my friends.

hows your date going? we'll be on standby if anything bad happens

I look up from my phone and see Rodrick heading towards me.

Rodrick comes up to me with 2 drinks and 1 bag of popcorn.

"Oh you only got one bag of popcorn?" I ask him.

"You thought this was yours? It's all mine" He says jokingly. I playfully hit him.

"I can get more if you want" He suggested. "No, it's fine" I say.

We walk into the movie theater and sit down at one of the last rows. After what seemed to feel like an hour worth of commercials the movie finally started.

The movie wasn't that scary except for a few jump-scare scenes I flinched at. Rodrick made fun of me but I knew he was more scared of the muddy hand then I was. After the movie we were headed to Mcdonald's but we walked past the arcade.

"Hey, we should totally take another photo booth picture" I say stopping Rodrick.

He goes along with it and as we step inside the photo booth Rodrick leans in and kisses me.

The pictures ended up having the first one panel looking normal and the next two of us kissing. "These pictures are cute, now i have to hide them from my mother or she will literally kill me" I tell Rodrick as he laughs.

"Shall we go to Mcdonalds?" Rodrick says putting his arm out. I intertwined my arm with his "We shall"

At Mcdonalds I ordered chicken nuggets and fries. Rodrick ordered a burger and fries. We were talking about the movie when Rodrick stopped.

He stared into my eyes. "Are you okay?" I ask him.

"It's just.. do you want to be my girlfriend..?" He asks me nervously.

"Of course you idiot"

"This is probably the most romantic spot ever, a Mcdonalds" I say jokingly. "Only the best for my.. girlfriend" he said nervously.

"Aww girlfriend I like that" I say blushing.

"I really enjoyed tonight" I tell Rodrick as he pulls up outside of my house. "Me too, we're going to have a lot more nights like that one" He smiles at me.

"Guess I should go now, bye" I say awkwardly as I get out of his van.

As soon as I walk inside my house my mom greets me "So, how was your date?" She asks me.

"Oh uh... I kinda.. have a boyfriend now" I tell her hesitantly.

"What! Aw your first boyfriend, I remember when you were a year old and—" I cut her off "Okay i get it, you don't have to be emotional on me" I tell her jokingly.

"Sorry, you know me I'm just so excited" She says "You know what? Tell Rodrick to invite his family over tomorrow night, we're going to have them over for dinner" She adds on

"Ughh mom do we have to?" I sigh.

"Only if you want to be allowed to have a boyfriend" She says sarcastically.
