《Unknown Love ~{discontinued}~》Chapter 3

I decided to do everything else before visiting Edd and Matt. What are they going to think of me? For joining Tords army? They'll understand... right? I walked down the hallway of the cells. Until I saw a green hooded boy with another, wearing a purple hoodie and green over coat.
"Edd!! Matt!!" I was so happy to see them. Edd looked up with a smile on his face.
"Tom!!" Edd yelled with excitement.
"Tim!!" So did Matt.
I didn't care if Matt said my name wrong. At least they were safe.
"Hey.. why aren't you in here with us?"
"Oh um.. I may have.. joined Tords army.."
I laughed nervously.
"How could you?!"
"I did it to protect you Edd!"
"How would you protect me by joining an army!"
"Tord said he was going to shoot you while you and Matt were still sleeping on the jet! So I agreed to join his army so a bullet wouldn't go through your head!! But it turns out he was bluffing and there's no going back now!!!"
I yelled with frustration. Edd just had a shocked look on his face.
"Sorry I yelled at you Edd, you didn't do anything. Sorry."
"It's okay. Just.. visit us when ever you can, Okay?"
I nodded in agreement.
"Sorry to cut this short but Tom has a few more things to do."
I turned behind me. Tord was there. A sigh escaped my lips.
"Edd, Matt, do you want to join my army? Tom has. I won't put you two in any danger of course. We will speak more about your positions later."
"We will think about it... Tord."
He nodded as he started to walk away.
"Bye Edd..."
"Bye Tom."

I caught up with Tord. Walking beside him.
"Sooo did Amy give you my uniform yet?"
"Actually yes she has. But it's at my office."
I nodded and just looked at the floor for the rest of the way.
I laid back on my bed. My room was themed blue. The walls were a pale light blue shade. Carpet was grey. Furniture wood was dark oak. My bedding was blue with white lines along the ends. I wish I could have some Smirnoff right about now. Sighing as I got up. I looked at myself in the mirror that was in front of my bed, next to my draws. I was wearing some sort of blue long sleeved, under top. I wore a grey vest over it and a tie. Black jeans and boots. I looked over at my clock. 9:00pm. That's when the bell went off telling everyone to get to the diner hall. I waited for Tords arrival because I still didn't know my way around this place yet. Few minutes after the dinner bell rang. There was a knock at my door. I got up and walked to the door. I turned the door handle. The door opened revealing Tord. Behind him were soldiers with Edd and Matt.
"I thought you could have your first meal here with your friends." Tord has his hands behind his back. He also had a big grin across his face. Edd and Matt hasn't realised I'm here yet. I pushed past Tord and hugged my best friends.
"Tom!" Edd and Matt said in unison.
"How has Tord been treating you two?"
We stopped hugging. Edd and Matt looked at each then back at me.
"Okay... I guess." Edd shrugged his shoulders.
Tord places his human hand on my shoulder.

"We should all get going to dinner." He signalled the soldiers to bring Edd and Matt along too. I followed Tord to the dinning hall.
Once we have walked through the big dark oak doors. There was a large long table filled with food and soldiers, eating and talking. At the end of the room there was a separate round table. Only two soldiers sat there. One of them looked familiar.
As I followed Tord to the table. The room went quiet and everyone was staring at me. I felt uncomfortable and looked down at my feet.
Tord signalled the soldiers to leave Edd and Matt. He sat in one of the chairs. Us three looked at each other and sat down too.
"Hey. Are you the one who asked for directions earlier?"
I was in a rush before I didn't notice his name tag. 'Patryk' I nodded in response.
Let's just say this dinner was the mostly quiet and awkward I have ever had.
All the soldiers were gone apart from one group, three females. Paul and Patryk were assigned to collect the dishes and give them to the cooks so they can clean. It was silent between the four of us until Tord broke the silence.
"So.. Edd, Matt. Are you willing to join? After what I've told you about your jobs here?"
Matt looked to Edd. Edd looked back. Matt nodded and Edd sighed.
"Well actually, yes we are."
"Excellent! I'll take you two to Amy, then to your rooms. Tom you can manage getting back to your room?"
I sighed and nodded in response. I got up and headed out the dinning hall. I only took a few steps outside before hearing female voices from behind me.
"Hello Thomas." One girl has said with her two friends giggled. I turned around to a girl with chestnut hair and brown eyes. There were another two behind her. On the left was a blonde haired girl with green eyes and on the right was a girl with black hair and blue eyes.
"How do you know my name?"
I raised an eyebrow.
"Well everyone and I mean all the girls were talking about you." The girl with blonde hair squealed.
"What were they saying?"
They all started to giggle more. The girl with chestnut hair put her hand up. Stopping the other two from giggling. She whispered something to the other two. I didn't quite hear it. The two of them started to walk towards me.
Before I could react. The black haired girl grabbed my arms and held them behind my back. The blonde girl pulled out duct tape. Putting it on my mouth. I tried to scream but it was only muffled from the tape. The black haired girl started pushing me. Following the chestnut haired girl. I couldn't do anything.
I felt useless and weak.

The Stars Have Eyes
The universe was a vast, empty, dark, and uncaring place. Then life happened, and the universe was changed forever. Only a teeny-tiny bit, but definitely different. Then again, the universe changes a teeny-tiny bit every second of every day. For instance, if someone were to get off the couch and randomly drink a glass of milk? Bam! One less glass of milk in the universe. Changed forever. Well, excluding any time-travel shenanigans, but anyone who puts a big old hole in the time-space continuum just to un-drink a glass of milk should really reevaluate their priorities. Unless, of course, they were attempting to prevent some massive catastrophe vis-a-vis said glass of milk. Such a scenario is by no means impossible, as one should never underestimate the importance of calcium. Another important tip for any life forms out there is to keep things in perspective. Some look at the vastness of creation in relation to themselves and go, ‘Man, this sucks!’ These people really need to narrow their focus. Sure, they will never affect anything happening on the other end of the galaxy, but so what? That’s way the heck over there, where it doesn’t matter. Therefore, in order to maintain a healthy mindset, it is important to narrow one’s perspective to the things and people that affect them, and that they can affect in turn. But what happens if one is an unfathomable cosmic being from beyond the veil of reality? What happens when such an existence is capable of influencing entire swathes of the universe just by its presence? A creature such as Magh'rathlak the Observer? That particular entity is only about average as far as reality-warping creatures from the dawn of time go, so its influence over the fabric of reality is rather limited. And it still struggles to keep things in perspective. That, among other things, is why it decided to narrow its worldview a bit by compressing the maddening vastness of its being into a single corporeal form. Magh'rathlak had never tried such a feat, but that wasn't about to stop it. After all, how hard could being human possibly be?

Solstice Anthology
A collection of short stories I've written over the past few years, the centerpiece being "Solstice" itself: On the Winter Solstice, the wind whispered. It roared and blew across the world, and reached even the Heavens above. With it, the great cold of winter flooded across that higher plane, and the gods staggered. They felt the golden dust of their divinity drift away from them, and the message of that wind became clear… This Winter will never end so that the Earth will.
