CHAPTER XIX :

A Closed Door

【 3𝘳𝘥 𝘗𝘖𝘝 】

After presenting the Uzi to Alice, it is now time to truly go home. Aurum dropped them off at the mansion, giving the briefcase to Alice before going away.

As they were walking towards the door, a gust of cold wind brushed against their bodies, the day was very cold, it makes sense, since winter is coming.

Y/N : "So cold..."

As they entered the mansion,

Y/N noticed the briefcase that

Alice was holding.

Y/N : "What's that?" Y/N asked,

curious about the briefcase.

Alice : "Oh, it's just some files, Aurum gave it to me for safekeeping." Alice lied.

She doesn't want anyone to know she has an Uzi as an element of surprise, even if it's Y/N.

As they were walking, a butler

was walking to their direction,

carrying a cup of tea.

The butler accidentally bumped

to Y/N, causing the tea to splatter

all over his shirt.

"I'm sorry! Master Y/N!"

The butler quickly

bowed and apologized.

Y/N : "It's fine, Rodez."

Y/N assured his butler.

Event though Y/N was born in a rich family, he learned to respect his maids and butlers, treating them with kindness and respect. And as a result, his maids and butlers really look up to him and would say "master" before his name with utmost respect.

Alice : "What did you do?" Alice

growled at the servant, aggression

on her voice as she eyed the tea

stains on Y/N's precious shirt

Rodez : "I-I'm sorry! Lucius was ordering me to make tea for him! I didn't mean to spill it to you master!"

Y/N! : "I'll go get change, you can make a new cup of tea for him." He smiled toward his servant, reassuring him.

Alice : "Look at where you're going

next time." She scolded with a

belittling voice.

Rodez : "Thank you, Y/N!"

He bowed in respect.

After the incident, Y/N went to his room and changed his shirt. Alice went to her room aswell, putting the briefcase in a concealed place inside her drawers.

Alice then removed her black suit,

placing it on her wardrobe.

Afterwards she got on the bed.

Alice : "I can't wait for tonight...

I'll be with Y/N again." She softly

said, blushing.

Time passed by, Y/N ate dinner and the glowing moon has now replaced the previously burning sun in the skies.

And it is now time for Y/N's bedtime.

He made the decision today to finally stop letting Alice sleep with him, he can sleep by his own now, without anyone's help.

And he wants to sleep on his own.

He feels awkward sleeping

with someone.

As Y/N stared at his ceiling, he

heard knocking on the door.

That's Alice...

Y/N got up and opened the door,

and it was indeed Alice.

Alice was smiling sweetly towards Y/N.

Seeing her smile, Y/N thought to himself how much Alice changed from an emotionless bodyguard to a girl who's always smiling sweetly towards him.

But...

Y/N : "A-Alice! Sorry but, I don't

need to sleep with you anymore."

Y/N apologized.

Alice : "W-Why...?" She asked,

unable to believe it.

She always look forward to being next to him, and yet, he's telling her that he doesn't need to sleep with her anymore.

It was making her feel... cold...

Alice : "It's fine, Y/N, you

don't need to be embarrassed-"

Y/N : "I'm honest, Alice. And I'm not embarrassed. It would be bad to

always depend on you."

Alice : "N-No! It's not a bad thing..." Alice's sweet smile slowly turning

into sad frown.

Y/N : "But... I need to be independent myself. Not just relying on you. Well,

I'll be sleeping now, goodnight." Y/N excused himself as he quickly

closed the door.

At that moment, Alice felt her body

turn cold, her heart beating loudly.

As if something had snapped.

She quickly put her foot at way of the

door, stopping Y/N from fully closing it.

Y/N : "Hey-"

Alice put her one hand at the door

and another at the door-frame.

Her one yellow-colored eye visible between the small opening of the door, the iris in her eyes widening as the pupils dilated in insanity.

Alice, with her force, opened the

door aggressively, making Y/N

step back in surprise.

Alice : "Did you just close

the door on me...

Y/N : "It's not like that-"

Alice : "You did... Y/N... You do know that I was the one who saved you, right? If

I wasn't there you would have died. But... You still closed the door on me...?"

Y/N : "I'm sorry, I just

want to sleep alone-"

Alice : "I want to be able to protect you, Y/N. Even in your sleep. You're not allowing me..."

Alice's eyes looked absolutely scary, making Y/N gulp in fear. They looked scarier than her eyes on the day that she had killed Emma. It was because deep inside, Alice is waiting ever night just to be next to Y/N, and yet, Y/N is removing that from me.

Alice : "I forgive you, Y/N. Let's

just forget this and sleep like we

usually do okay...?" She spoke,

her voice shaking.

Y/N : "Alright..."

They went to bed, laying next to each other, Y/N was facing away from Alice as Alice faced Y/N's back

Y/N feels.. weird...

He doesn't really know what

to make out of the situation.

And he doesn't want to make Alice mad aswell, her eyes looked very different, as if it had seen insanity before.

Alice reached her hands

to Y/N's head, patting his hair.

Alice : "I'm just protecting you...

okay...? It's my job..." She comforted

Y/N even though her voice is shaking.

Y/N : "Okay..."
