"Why is school a thing? I can learn all the shit I need to know online." Ivy groaned as they waited for the bus.

Jake didn't answer. She nudged him slightly, "You okay?"

He ignored her, tightening his grip on Chucky.

She started to say something then the bus pulled up and he ran inside. She rolled her eyes and got on after him.

As they made their way down the aisle, a pair of boxers flew at Jake's face. Ivy grabbed them and chucked them at Oliver.

"What the fuck, Ivy!" He yelled.

"Aim at me next time, see what happens!" She snapped.

Jake slowed down when he spotted Devon. Ivy grinned slightly and shoved him into the seat behind him.

He gave her a look then sighed. She shrugged and took out her phone, plopping into the seat next to her brother as he gazed at the boy.

The moment ended fast when Junior sat down next to Devon. Jake frowned, turning to the side.

Ivy grabbed a piece of crumpled up paper out of her bag and chucked it at her cousin. "Burn in hell, asswipe!"

He threw it back, hitting the window next to her head. Ivy grinned and started sarcastically clapping. "Perfect aim."

He rolled his eyes and turned back to Devon.

Ivy followed her brother down the hallway. She thought it was stupid that he brought Chucky to school but he went through hell last night so she decided not to comment.

They walked over to his locker and some kid came over, asking if Jake could hook him up with Junior. Ivy stood at her locker, glaring up at him.

"Junior?" Jake sighed.

Speak of the devil, the ass hole peered out from behind Jake and locked eyes with the desperate boy.

"I get that a lot. I'm flattered, really, but um.. it's not my thing." Lexi appeared next to him, on cue, and pushed her lips against his. Both Ivy and Jake rolled their eyes.

"Oh, sorry.. I didn't know.." The boy muttered, defeated.

"Ya, since cotillion. Don't you follow my insta?" Lexi said in her usual bitchy tone. He walked off.

Ivy rolled her eyes, "Not everything's about you blondie, and I'm sure more rapists follow you then actual people."

She scoffed. "Says the girl wearing a trash can."

Ivy started to move forward and Jake pushed her back with an annoyed sigh.

"Your bed buddy Jake?" Junior said, fixated on the doll in his arms. "What's his name?"

Jake looked down. "What's your name?"

"Hi! I'm Chucky! Wanna play?" The doll said.

"Aw, that's adorable!" Blondie exclaimed, pulling out her phone to take a picture.

Ivy started to get protective and pushed away from the lockers. She hated how defensive she got when people fucked with Jake. Maybe it was because they're twins.

"Say cheese." Lexi said.

Jake held up Chucky and half-smiled. "Chucky cheese."

Ivy mentally face-palmed. She knew that Jake was just messing around but knowing Lexi, she would use that photo against him somehow.

"You're not tearing him apart, I hope.." She said, in the fake-nice voice that Ivy despises.

"Anything for art, right?" Her twin said, continuing to buy into blondie's bullshit. Ivy focused on Junior who looked extremely uncomfortable. Probably sick of Lexi.

"No, you can't!" She whined.

"Actually I'm gonna sell it.." Jake admitted. Ivy rolled her eyes, waiting for Lexi's offensive fucked up response.

"Oh.. you're selling your stuff now Jake? I didn't realize it had gotten that bad."

His eyebrows furrowed. "No-"

"I mean, do you need to borrow any money?"

"No-" Jake started, only to be interrupted again.

"It's no problem." She said, turning to Junior. "Right?"

"You know I don't carry cash on me." He said, huffing out an annoyed sigh.

Lexi clenched her jaw angrily, "You can venmo-"

"It's fine." Jake butted in, shaking his head.

"We don't need charity, bitch." Ivy joined in, glaring at the blonde girl. "And even if we did, I would never touch your daddy's money."

Lexi turned to Ivy and gave her a pitiful look "Being financially disadvantaged is nothing to be ashamed of, right?" She tapped someone as they walked by.

"We're not." Jake defended.

Ivy shoved past him and glared at her, "Fuck off Lexi. Junior might put up with your pathetic bullshit, but we certainly won't."

Before anyone could say anything else, the bell rang. Ivy clenched her Jaw, keeping her eyes glued to blondie.

"Well, see you two later." She said, sparing them one of her fake-smiles.

"Yeah, see you in class." Jake sneered.

The two bitches walked away and Ivy smashed her fist into a locker. "I'm so done with their bullshit man!"

She ran her hands through her hair, breathing heavily.

"You okay?" Jake asked, still holding Chucky like a baby.

"No. I'm not okay! And neither are you. Put the doll down and snap out of it!" She shouted, practically in his face.

Ivy stared at him dead in the eyes just for a second then slammed her locker shut and rushed down the hallway.

"What the fuck, Ivy!" Jake yelled. "All we've got is each other! You can't push me away!"

"Fuck off!" She called back just before turning the corner.

Ivy sat next to her brother in chemistry with her feet up on the desk and her earbuds in her ears as the teacher rambled on about cutting apart innocent rogs.

She groaned when the teacher pulled out her earbuds.

"What?" Ivy groaned.

"Feet off the table, we're not doing this again." Fairchild said with her arms crossed over her chest. Ivy rolled her eyes and dropped them to the floor.

She looked over at Jake who seemed like he was about to faint.

"Jake, you okay?" The teacher asked quietly.

He looked up at her, "Um.. yea, I just.. I don't think I can do this.."

"Do you have a religious conflict?" Fairchild questioned.

He lowered his head, "No.. I just.. I can't stand the sight of blood.."

"Pussy." Oliver said from behind them. Ivy raised her fist in the air but the teacher grabbed it and sighed.

"Oliver, mind your fucking business." She snapped. The teen raised an eyebrow and lowered her arm, amused.

"Look, you can do this." She continued. "Just make a vertical incision down the length of the abdomen like I showed you."

He shook his head and turned to Ivy. "What? You know I draw the line at hurting animals."

"You talk about killing people all the time?" He argued.

"Yeah, people. Not animals.." She muttered.

Jake sighed and slowly picked up the scalpel, wincing as if it was about to stab him in the face. He held it over the frog's abdomen and just barely pushed it in. Sticky blood poured out almost immediately.

The two twins looked off to the side, disgusted. Ivy hated seeing animals hurt so this wasn't what she'd call fun.

Jake breathed heavily next to her. He couldn't stand the sight of blood. The two of them slowly turned their heads to see what progress they didn't make.

Both of them stumbled back into their seats when they saw the pile of guts scattered across the plate, crimson everywhere. Ivy threw her hands over her mouth. Jake stared down at the mess, horrified.

Miss Fairchild noticed the scene and froze. "Oh.. oh, uh, no.. Jake, this isn't quite right."

"Yeah, no shit." Ivy remarked, her voice muffled by the hands covering her mouth. "Looks like a crime scene."

"No- I-I didn't do that." He tried to explain.

Ivy glanced over at the chucky doll, noticing the scalpel in his hand. She didn't have much time to think when a blast of messages rang through the classroom.

Everyone started to laugh and look over at Jake. Lexi's face told Ivy everything she needed to know.

"What is going on?" Fairchild demanded.

Oliver stood up. "Lexi's new go-fund-me."

He held out his phone and Ivy snatched it, seeing a photo of Jake holding Chucky with the words Help fight poverty, help Jake, Ivy and Chucky below it.

Oliver tossed a penny. "There you go, Wheeler's. Don't spend it all in one place."

Ivy threw her stool to the side, racing over to Lexi. Miss Fairchild grabbed her by the arm and yanked her back.

"YOU'RE DEAD!" Ivy screamed. "DEAD!"

"Calm down." The teacher muttered, pushing her back.

Jake kept his eyes on the ground as he got up to leave. He didn't even make it halfway when Oliver shoved him to the ground.

Ivy pushed Fairchild away and rushed over. Not even a second later, her fist collided with Oliver's face.

"Ow! What the fuck!" He yelled, holding his nose in pain.

"Office, now!" The teacher demanded.

Ivy grabbed her bag and smirked. "I know the drill." The rest of the class watched her walk out. Some even took a step back.

"I'm done with this hellhole."

Ivy walked into the lunch room after getting lectured for an hour from the principal. She grabbed a lunch tray and got into line.

Oliver and his friends were watching her from their table. She rolled her eyes and flipped them off as the lady put food onto her plate.

Ivy made her way over to Jake who was sitting alone at a table with his earbuds in. She made her way over and plopped down next to him.

"They didn't suspend you?" He questioned.

"Nope, I got off easy.. but they're gonna call dad."

His head snapped up, "What? Why?"

She huffed out a sigh and started poking at the food on her plate. "They think I'm fucking psychotic."

Jake frowned, turning back to his plate. "That's stupid.."

They sat in silence for a while. Ivy was terrified to leave school now. She didn't want to have to face her father.

"Are you okay?" Ivy blurted out.

He turned around and nodded slowly. "I'm fine. I just don't need my twin sister to fight all my battles for me."

She chuckled at his response. "You're my brother."

Before he could reply, someone sat down at the table. Ivy's eyes shot up, ready to yell at whoever was there but calmed down when she saw that it was just Devon.

Jake looked up too but his reaction was a little different.

He jumped in his seat, tearing the earbuds from his ears.

"Okay if I sit here?" Devon asked.

"Uh.. yeah." Jake stuttered, shoving his phone under his arm. Ivy chuckled at how awkward he was.

"Hey, Ivy." The boy greeted.

She folded her arms over her chest. "Hey."

He turned back to Jake. "What are you listening to?"

"Nothing."

"Must be listening to something, everyday I see you here totally wrapped up in whatever it is."

Ivy turned to her brother, waiting for his response. "I was watching.. vampire diaries actually."

She slapped him on the arm. "Seriously?"

"For real?" Devon exclaimed. "Is it good?"

Jake hid his eyes under his hair and chuckled. "Sort of a guilty pleasure.."

"What's it about?" He questioned.

"Yeah Jake, what's it about?" Ivy joined in, leaning over the table with a devious smile spread across her face.

"Um.. well.. It's about the unbreakable bond between brothers. Strong enough to survive anything, even their worst mistakes." Jake rambled on.

Ivy's smile faded quickly. She knew he was talking about their relationship.

"But it's also like super hot vampires right?" Devon said, grabbing her attention.

"Yeah, super hot."

"I'll check it out." The teen replied, smiling at her brother.

"Coolio." Jake said, frowning at his own dumb response. Ivy just rolled her eyes at him.

"So.. I'm having a talent show tomorrow." Devon stated.

"You should come."

Jake nodded, "I'll check it out."

"Coolio." Devon repeated, making Jake chuckle. Ivy put her hands over her face and sighed.

"Anyways, listen. I wanted to ask you something. This is kind of awkward.."

Ivy frowned, Jake's already been asked if he could set someone up with Junior today and Ivy wasn't about to let Devon ask it too.

"What?" Jake rushed.

"Well, first of all, I know you listen to my show." The teen said, making Ivy freeze in her seat.

Jake shook his head, "That's not a question.."

"Well I mean, I know you were listening right now. I saw." Devon said, tapping his finger on the table.

Jake just continued to laugh nervously. "Okay."

"So I was wondering if.. maybe.. you'd be interested in coming on my podcast." He asked, making Jake frown.

"What?" Ivy interrupted.

"I wanna do a whole series on bullying." Devon said to the twins. Ivy felt her nostrils flare. Jake leaned back in his seat, obviously unhappy with his words.

"I thought you were into true crime?"

"Bullying is a crime. I mean, just here in Hackensack we have Lexi, Oliver-"

"Junior." Jake added.

"No, Juniors a good guy."

Ivy scoffed. "Bullshit."

Jake started to get fed up with him. "Junior's my cousin, believe me, he's not a good guy."

"It's Lexi right, I don't know what he sees in her." Devon tried to defend him. Ivy just rolled her eyes.

"Junior is just as bad as her, if not worse."

"Do I look like the poster boy of losers to you?" Jake finally snapped.

"No I just-" Devon started.

"No, I'm not interested. I gotta go." He said, getting up from the table and walking away.

"Great job." Ivy said to the teen before getting up to go after her brother.

Junior stared as she walked past.

"What, fuckface?"

* * *

It was dark out now. Ivy tried to comfort Jake after Devon fucked with him in the lunch room but he kept changing the conversation so she gave up.

"So, are you gonna go on Devon's podcast?" Ivy asked Jake as he typed away on his computer.

"Fuck no."

She chuckled then sat up and ran both hands through her dark wavy hair. "Think he'd let me on?"

Jake turned to her and scoffed. "No, you would just end up roasting Lexi and Oliver for twenty minutes.."

"Yeah, that's the point."

"Does Oliver have a girlfriend yet?" He questioned.

"How the fuck would I know?" She shot back.

He shrugged. "You used to hook up-"

"Don't put that in the air," Ivy said. "I'm so done with that part of my life.."

"Right." Jake muttered, unconvinced.

Before she could argue about it more, his phone started to ring. He picked it up right away.

"Hello?" Jake said, putting it on speaker.

"Yeah, I'm calling about the doll." A man stated.

"That was fast." Jake replied, scratching at his neck. The man spoke with no emotion. Almost like her brother was talking with a robot.

"You're really selling the doll?" Ivy asked.

Jake took it off speaker and continued talking to the man as if they were friends.

Ivy shrugged and laid back on his bed. The conversation was short, Jake looked confused after the man hung up.

"What's wrong with you?" She questioned.

"That was weird as fuck." He said in response, hurrying back over to his computer. Ivy's eyebrows furrowed, she slid out of his bed and walked over.

He was researching something about murder. Ivy leaned over his shoulder to try and get a better look.

As soon as the words "chucky did it" came on the screen she took a step back, shaking her head.

"Oh, hell no.."

"Relax, it's nothing." He reassured her. "Why do you hate dolls so much anyway?"

"Have you seen them? They're like tiny soulless people."

"Whatever." Jake chuckled." Go to bed before dad kicks our asses for being up late again."

Ivy sighed, "Fine. But I'm sleeping here." She raced over to his bed and laid down.

"No you're not."

"I'm already under the covers." She remarked.

Jake frowned and grabbed her by the ankle, ready to yank his sister off the bed.

When she refused to move he tugged on her leg as hard as he could, sending Ivy crashing to the floor with a loud thud. They both froze, praying their father didn't hear.

They stayed like that for a minute then relaxed.

Ivy pushed herself up from the floor and sighed, "There's no way I'm sleeping in my room tonight."

Jake rolled his eyes. "Fine, but you're on the floor. I hate when you accidentally punch me in your sleep."
