《Blaze, My Mate》Chapter 10

I couldn't believe what I had just heard, Victoria had Blaze under a spell. I could understand the situation he was in but he knew I was his mate. He knew very well yet he didn't try to do something. He could have just told the pack that I was his mate. Things would have been easier then and I wouldn't get the harsh treatment I received. I mean, he could have thought about me in the first place.
Wasn't the bond strong enough to make him gain his needed senses. Just thinking about it was enough to make my head explode. I sort of understood but my judgement still remained. None of them deserved my precious time and nor did I deserve theirs. They concluded everything long back.
My ears caught the sound of a familiar voice. It could only be him. I neared the door and pressed my ear against it. Eavesdropping wasn't always a good idea but I wanted to hear what he was saying to my child without having to interrupt them.
"Hey little man. I happen to be your father you know," Blaze stated and he let out a short, dry chuckle.
"Your mom is upset with me because I wasn't there for the two of you. I am more than sorry right now … if there was a word for that then I would have used it long back." He paused and then resumed speaking. I could only imagine how the atmosphere felt between them.
"It's sad that I didn't get to see your sister. I feel awful right now. I feel like things could have went differently if I was there. Perhaps… perhaps she would be here with us today," he said and I could hear the sincerity in his voice. "I want to be a good father to you. You deserve a great childhood and I don't want to snatch that away from you. Both your parents love you a lot," he added.

Somethimg was telling me to remain there and listen to his every word but I found myself opening the door and walking out. Our eyes met the moment I walked out, provided that I caught him by surprise.
Azure was awake and I reckoned that he needed food to fill up his tummy.
"He must be hungry," I said and walked to sit next to Azure.
I glanced at him and he snapped out of his trance. "Of course… I'll be back in a while," he said with a smile. It was a bit sickening to see him smile like that because I was trying my level best to be angry at him.
He stood up, his smile still intact. "Oh, and Alpha, please bring cooked food this time," I added and he gave me a wary look. He finally nodded and proceeded to walking out the room.
I told Azure to shift into his human. It didn't take long and my son was laying on the bed. He was not happy. To show his discomfort, he put his head under the pillow, trying to hide. It was funny because his body was in full view. Blaze came in with a tray in his hands. He stopped in his tracks and raised a questioning brow at me.
"Azure doesn't like being in human form because he knows he has to take a bath in the river." I saw pain in his eyes but he said nothing and gave me the tray.
"Come out Azure, I have food my big boy," I said. He came out with a big smile. Blaze gasped but I didn't care for his reaction.
"Berry!" Azure said happily. It broke my heart that the only thing my son knew as food were wild berries. His eyes fell on the tray and he seemed confused.

"These are chicken nuggets, fries and juice," I said pointing at the items on the plate. He was watching me and made no move to eat. I took a nugget and put it in my mouth.
"Mmmm, see it's good here," I said putting a nugget near his mouth. He took a bite and his eyes lit up. He went to the plate and stuffed his mouth. He was eating so fast I was afraid he would choke. After he was done he kept saying mmmm and licking his lips. I opened the juice box and showed him how to drink it.
Blaze was crying silently. He was so focused on Azure he didn't see me looking at him. Clearing my throat I asked him.
"Is there a bathtub where Azure can take a bath?"
Blaze kept his eyes on Azure as he answered.
"Yes, come with me." I reached for my son who was playing with the empty juice box.
"Can I hold him? Please," Blaze asked wiping his tears. I didn't see anything wrong so gave Azure to him. To my surprise Azure didn't seem uncomfortable with Blaze. He held on to his neck as his father hugged him tightly like he would disappear.
"My son, my beautiful boy." Blaze kept chanting. "Please forgive me my boy."
I gave him time to do whatever he was doing. Seeing Azure in his father's arms made me wish things were different. I was happy that my son would finally get his father's love. Blaze seemed to have excepted Azure whole heartedly. It made me sad that we could never be a family.
I was taken out of my thoughts by faint sparks on my cheek.
"You okay?" Blaze asked with a smile. He still had Azure in his arms, his eyes were sparkling with happiness. He was handsome, his scent was intoxicating. He was too close. I realised that the sparks on my cheek were getting more intense. I swatted his hand away from my cheek.
"Yes, Alpha. Ah....mm....shall we?" I said pointing at the door.
"Yes, my Luna. Let's go." He was out the door before I reacted.
That man was playing a losing game if he thought I was going to be the Luna of his pack. I followed him out so Azure could take a bath.
