Back to y/n POV:

I hopped in the shower and got ready quickly. It was odd the way Jay was acting. I could tell something was bothering him but it wasn't like other times, this was different. I walked out of the bedroom and noticed Jay sitting on the couch with his head between his hands.

I walked over to him and leaned down in front of him "Baby what's wrong?" I tried talking to him again.

He jumped up causing me to fall back on my bum. "Nothing, I'm just tired." I could see his eyes were red.

I was completely taken aback. "Jay-"

"Let's go." he walked out of the apartment.

Not a single word was exchanged during our ride to the firehouse. Once we got there Jay parked in front and I leaned over to give him a kiss like I usually do. He turned to look at me and hesitated for a few seconds before leaning over and letting me kiss him, except he didn't kiss back.

"Jay, what's going on?" I asked him now feeling angry.

"I'm late for work y/n." He didn't even turn to face me.

I scoffed before stepping out of the car and as soon as I shut the door Jay drove off. I walked into the firehouse completely distracted by the way Jay was acting.

"y/n!" I heard someone scream my name.

"What?" I turned around and realized I had just walked past Kelly without realizing it.

"You alright? I called your name like 3 times." He laughed.

"Oh, I'm sorry Kelly, my head's somewhere else today." I walked over to hug him.

"Is everything ok?" He asked me concerned.

I sighed and hesitated before telling him. "It's just Jay's been acting really weird today, he'll barely look at me or even touch me. And we were completely fine yesterday and I don't know what's wrong."

I saw him look down at his feet. "It's probably nothing." He said unconvinced.

"Kelly you know something."

"I mean it probably has nothing to do with it."

"Kelly please," I begged him to tell me.

"I went out for a drink with Erin yesterday, she told me she's moving to New York soon, like really soon," Kelly told me.

I didn't know how to feel. If Jay found out then he'd probably feel weird about it but he had promised me he didn't feel anything for her anymore. "Ok, thanks, Kelly." I started walking away.

"y/n it's probably not that." He shouted at me as I walked away.

I didn't answer. Instead of heading to the kitchen with everyone else, I tried to sneak my way past everyone and into the bathrooms.

"Eyyyyy!!! y/n!!" I then heard Cruz yell alerting everyone of my presence.

"Hey guys, I'm just going to the restroom, I'll be back in a sec," I told everyone with a forced smile.

Once I was at the sinks I decided to try to call Jay. I didn't know exactly what I was going to say but I needed to talk to him. I rang him but it went straight to voicemail. I grunted frustratedly.

"Woah girl everything alright?" I heard Shay's voice. I turned and saw her and Gabby standing in the doorway.

"Not really." I dropped all my efforts of looking alright.

"Honey, what's wrong?" Gabby asked me. Shay and Gabby hopped on the sink on either side of me.

"It's Jay, he's been super distant this morning. It's like he's disgusted by me.

Kelly told me that Erin is moving to New York and I don't know if that has anything to do with it."

"I mean even though they're not in a relationship anymore they are still friends, I mean maybe he's just taking it hard, you know having his friend move away," Shay told me.

"Yeah well, it seems like more than that. I've never seen him act like this. He came back from work this morning to pick me up, he said you guys asked him to bring me here."

I saw Gabby and Shay turn to look at each other. "y/n we love having you here but no one ever called Jay." Gabby told me.

"What is wrong with him? Is he mad at me? Or has he gone mad?" I was feeling incredibly frustrated.

"You know what babe, come on another ride along with us, and once our shift is over we'll all go to Molly's. How does that sound?" Shay suggested.

"I don't know guys, I'm not really in the mood."

"Oh c, mon, it'll take your mind off it, I'm sure he'll come around." Gabby insisted.

"Fine." I gave in.
