Jay's POV:

I loved waking up next to y/n, her head always ended u buried in my chest. I had become an expert in getting up and ready without waking her up. I gave her a kiss on her forehead, I saw a slight smile form on her lips. The hardest part of my day was resisting the urge to lay back beside her and stay with her for the rest of the day.

I made my way over to the district, I arrived early and no one was there yet. I made some coffee when I heard someone coming up the stairs. It was Erin. We had managed to remain professional at work but we'd avoided being alone.

"Morning." I greeted her.

"Hey."

"You're here early." I tried to make conversation.

"I could say the same thing about you. Jay listen I have to tell you something, I'm moving to New York." She stepped closer.

Before the conversation could go any further my phone rang, it was a blocked caller. "Hello, Jay Halstead." I heard a man's voice on the other side.

"Who is this?" I asked.

"She's mine, not yours. I'm calling you to warn you to keep away from her."

"What are you talking about? Who is this?" Erin gestured for me to tell her what was going on.

"Look at the photo I just sent you." He instructed me.

I pulled the phone away from my ear to see a new message. I opened it. My heart stopped at what I saw. It was a picture of y/n asleep in bed, the way I left her this morning, except a hand was in the frame holding a gun to her head. Erin leaned over and saw the picture.

"Either you or anyone call for help and I'll shoot, and then I'll shoot myself. You see y/n and I are destined to be together, and you're getting in the way."

I saw as Erin reached for her phone but I stopped her. "I won't call for help. You can take anything you want from me, beat me, torture me, kill me, but for the love of God don't touch her." My voice quivered.

He laughed. "This is what I want. You need to leave her, leave her alone, do whatever you have to do but get away from her. Make her hate you."

"Fine" I breathed.

I heard him laugh again "You have 24 hours, If you do as you're told she'll be perfectly safe. I'll make sure to keep her safe." He hung up.

"Jay, what the hell is going on?" Erin asked me.

"Don't call anyone Erin, Don't tell anyone, please I can't risk losing her," I told her as I rushedly grabbed my car keys and ran out. I drove back to our place as fast as I could crossing all the red lights and almost causing several crashes in the process. But I needed to get to her.

Once I got to my place I ran up to the apartment, on the door was a post-it note. '24 hours' it read. I took it and crumpled it as I ran inside. "y/n!y/n!" I called out.

She appeared from the kitchen "Jay? What are you doing here? What's wrong?" She asked me clueless as to everything that had just happened.

I gave a huge sigh of relief. "I...I forgot something." I could see she knew something was up.

"Jay you know you can tell me anything right?" She stepped closer and placed her hand on my cheek.

I just wanted to hold her, kiss her and get her as far away from here as possible. But I had to keep her safe. I stepped back. "I'm taking you to the firehouse c, mon."

"What, why?" She was confused.

"Mills called, everyone wants you there, they're saying you're like their good luck charm." I lied again.

"Ok..." she was reluctant.
