《Everything Inbetween Bones [BxB] ✓》Chapter 16

A/N: Hey everyone, I'm so sorry it's been so long, I've had a lot going on but I hope you like this chapter.
Logan sat in English class, not really paying attention to much other than the drawing on his notes. All he'd really been drawing lately was Oliver, his face, or eyes, or hands. He thought maybe if he could draw him enough, he could get him out of his head, but it was seeming to have the opposite effect. In Math classes all he did was stare at him, looking away when Oliver looked back, and in study hall he listened to songs that reminded him of the dark haired boy. Logan was a mess and he knew it, he needed to find a way to get over this.
He saw Jace in History, the last class before lunch, and realized that he'd been out for an entire week. He might not have thought much about it if Jace didn't have a splint on his nose and a black eye that was barely healed; He also didn't miss the bruise on his cheek and that was just his face, only god knows what bruises and cuts were hiding under his clothes. Oliver had done that? He knew he'd said he got in a fight with Jace, but Oliver had come in the day after with barely a scratch on him. Logan hadn't thought the fight had really been that bad, though maybe he was wrong.
He thought about that as he walked to lunch, sitting down at his table with Syrus, Tyler, and Ivy, setting his bottle of water and apple down, picking at the label around the bottle a bit, he didn't really like keeping it on. He looked over to see Oliver and Grace sitting together but no Jace, it made sense that they wouldn't be hanging out anymore, Logan hadn't really meant to ruin their friendship though.
"Hey, stick, are you not hungry for anything other than that? I can give you some of my lunch." Syrus offered and Logan shook his head with a small smile.
"Nah, it's alright, I usually just have big dinners." Logan said with a small smile and Syrus nodded.
"How's the play going?" Logan asked Ivy who was saying something to Tyler. She looked at him and smiled, nodding a little.
"Really good, I got cast as Alice!" She said excitedly and Logan smiled.
"You were auditioning for the mad hatter, right?" Logan asked Syrus and he nodded.
"I got understudy, Mark Taylor got cast but it's whatever, I'm also playing the cheshire cat and if Mark's sick, I'll play his role and Grayson B will play the cat." Sy said and Logan nodded, shrugging a little.
"The cat is still good." Logan said with a smile and Syrus smiled a little too.
"Yeah, I guess so. Ty's just doing sound again this year." He said and Logan nodded, looking to Tyler.
"Why do they always make you do sound?" Logan asked Ty and he shrugged, pushing up his glasses.
"I'm the only one they know that can get the computer to coordinate with the speakers I guess, it's a new speaker system with an old computer set up so it's a bit weird and you've gotta set it up this weird round about way, but it's fine." Tyler said.

"Oh, also, are you joining the mathletes?" Logan asked and Ty thought for a moment.
"I'm considering it, they asked me to so I might, but I still don't know if I have time for it or if I even really want to." He said and the small redhead nodded.
Logan looked over to see Ivy leaning her chin in her hand, staring off at Grace sitting next to Oliver and talking about whatever they were talking about, and suddenly Logan was staring too, not at Grace, but at Oliver who was laughing at something and Logan couldn't help but smile.
"You should go ask if Grace wants to come over and sit with us." Logan said to Ivy and she smiled knowingly.
"Not Oliver too?" She asked and Logan blushed.
"Well, yeah, I wouldn't want him to sit alone." Logan said and Ivy laughed softly, getting up to go over to the table.
"What's going on with you and Oliver?" Sy asked and Logan shrugged.
"We're just friends, I used to know him a while ago, now we're just hanging out again."
"Oh, yeah, I remember you telling me that. Is he like..good and all?" Sy asked and Logan nodded.
"He's really nice." Logan said and Sy nodded a little, though he looked a bit skeptical and maybe like he wanted to say something else before Oliver sat down next to Logan and Grace took a spot next to Ivy, smiling at the girl.
"Yeah, I can't believe I got cast, I mean, I know I auditioned for it, but I was expecting to get put in ensemble anyways." Grace said and Ivy shook her head with a little smile.
"You're going to do great as the queen, you delivered your lines so well, I don't know how they could not cast you." Ivy said with a giggle and Grace smiled.
"You're sweet." Grace said and Ivy smiled, shrugging a little as she pulled her fingers through her hair.
"Hey." Oliver said and Logan took his eyes off Ivy and Grace, looking to Oliver.
"Hey." He said with a small smile, noticing as Oliver glanced to his uneaten apple. He could already feel his stomach drop.
"Aren't you going to eat?" Oliver asked and Logan shrugged, opening his mouth to speak. "Don't tell me you're not hungry."
"Well I'm not."
"Logan, you always say that." Tyler said and Logan shrugged a little.
"But it's the truth." LiarLiarLiar.
"It's just like..Logan, I mean, I know we all make jokes about you being small, but it's starting to get a little concerning." Sy said and Logan's breath caught.
"I can't- I don't know what you want me to do about that, it's not like I can control my metabolism." Logan said quickly. Liar.
"Stop ganging up on him, he doesn't have to eat if he's not hungry, let the kid be." Ivy said and Logan could have kissed her he was so relieved.
After that everyone mostly calmed down but Oliver gave him a sort of look that said the conversation wasn't over. Logan still remembered his looks, the things he said with his eyes, he'd always been more closed off about his emotions but Logan could still tell what he wanted to say.
"Did you end up signing up for that art competition?" Oliver asked and Logan nodded.

"Yeah, I'm still working on ideas for it but I signed up, you aren't required to submit an art piece for another five weeks, but I guess they wanted a head count so there could be a space set up for the exhibit." Logan said, taking a sip of his water.
"Will five weeks be enough time?" Sy asked and Logan nodded.
"Yeah, it should be, I'm planning on doing water color, and after I come up with a solid idea and sketch everything out, it could only take a few hours."
"I've seen some of your art out in the halls, you've definitely got a shot at winning first or second place, and you can't lose anything by just trying other than what? twenty bucks for entrance fee?" Grace said with a small smile and Logan blushed.
"I don't think I'm that good." Logan said, running his fingers through his hair. Tyler looked to him, sighing softly.
"Logan, you're negating the fact that you have been drawing and doing art in different mediums for a long time and no matter how you look at it, you have very high technical skill, especially in the mediums that you favor such as water color, this alone will raise your chances of placing in the competition significantly, but coupled with the creativity and the personality that you put into your work, any judge or critic would be an idiot if they didn't see your talent." Tyler said, his voice keeping a sort of formal tone, though Logan knew he was being sincere.
"You're really sweet." Logan said with a smile and Ty shook his head.
"I am being honest, if you were bad, I would tell you not to join, like Ivy, she shouldn't start ballet, she's too clumsy." He said and Ivy laughed, pretending to be offended.
"Hey! I am not that clumsy! I could dance if I wanted." She said and Ty just pushed up his glasses with a small smile. "But you can definitely do it, loggy, it's cool that you're competing." Ivy said and Logan smiled.
"The kid is gonna be a famous artist, I'd bet on it." Sy said, wrapping an arm around Logan's shoulders as he chuckled. "Don't forget me when you're famous, alright, ginger?" He said and Logan giggled, nodding.
"I promise." Logan said softly. He didn't know how he felt about all the attention, it was odd.
"Do you have any ideas or themes you were thinking about for the piece?" Ivy asked and Logan nodded a little.
"I'm thinking maybe something to do with people and nature." He said and she nodded.
"Sounds good, I'm sure you'll do something cool with it, you always do." She said and Logan smiled.
---
Logan sat in the auditorium a few hours later, dipping a paintbrush in a bucket, painting a set piece part green, light brown, and darker green. He'd put in details of trees, the path, and leaves after it dried. His hands had blotches of color all over them, not to mention his clothes. He had changed into a large black shirt so he wouldn't have to get his hoodie paint stained. He laid the last layer of paint on before he was happy with it, setting it up against the wall and stepping away and sitting down for a moment to watch the stage.
He looked to Sy who was up on stage, running over a scene with Ivy. Nobody was off their scripts yet, but Logan was sure Sy would have it memorized in the next few days, he had a crazy memory, it was probably genetic or something because Tyler was also really good at memorizing things. He was already good at playing his character, though they could have cast Sy as the queen and he'd still be able to act with the role just as easily, he was one of the best actors in the school.
The director called for a scene switch and Mark walked out with a huge, slightly sideways hat. He was still attractive, but Logan had gotten over his crush on him a while ago after he'd told him and had been rejected immediately. Logan was crushed, but he didn't still like him now.
"Hey, bear, what's up?" Oliver asked, sitting down next to him.
"Not much, looks like the play's going to be good this year though." He said and Oliver nodded.
"Yeah, they've got some good actors." Oliver said, watching the stage.
"Hey, what kind of photography do you do?" Logan asked.
"Portraits and group photos mostly, some landscape, but I mostly do events like weddings or parties."
"That's cool."
"I still think you were the prettiest model I've ever shot." Oliver teased and Logan blushed, rolling his eyes with a smile.
"Oh shut it." He said and Oliver chuckled.
"I'm serious, I really want to do a photoshoot with you sometime." He said and Logan shook his head, keeping a small smile.
"I don't really like having photos taken of me."
"Why not?"
"I'm just not photogenic I guess."
"Everyone's photogenic at the right angle. I'll take you out sometime and I will show you that you're an amazing model and extremely photogenic." Oliver said and Logan looked at him with a small smile, rolling his eyes a bit again.
"Maybe." He said softly, looking back to the stage.
"How about next weekend?" Oliver asked with a small grin and Logan's eyes widened looking to him.
"What? No, I..I can't, I couldn't just stand and let someone take photos of me, I'd feel so awkward." He said and Oliver shrugged.
"Alright, but if you think you'd ever be okay with it, I'd love to have you as a subject."
"What would I even wear?"
"Normal clothes probably."
"I'll..think about it." He said and Oliver nodded.
"Okay." Oliver said, he wouldn't push it.
"Did you sleep in your car last night?" Logan asked and Oliver shook his head.
"I'm staying at a hotel with Judas, He's getting a few jobs and when he gets an apartment he's planning to try to get into a college."
"That's really awesome." Logan said, smiling. Oliver nodded, looking a bit distant.
"Yeah."
"You can still come over."
"Are you sure your dads are okay with me before over so much?" He asked and Logan nodded.
"They love you, it really wouldn't be a problem." He said and Oliver nodded, though he didn't know Oliver to take free opportunities, maybe he would this time.
