Colby searched the woods in front of him, looking for Devyn's scent. He was only 20 minutes into his run, and he has already lost her scent. Colby didn't realize that the boys had been following him until he heard the huffing of them behind him.

"Did you lose her scent, Colbs."

At the sound of his mates voice, Colby turns around very fast.

'I can't believe they let him come!'

Colby growled out loud to the boys. He decided to change back to his human form so he could yell at them properly. The cracking of Colby's bones were so gruesome that the boys had to turn around and hold their ears.

"Not only are you guys putting yourselves in danger, but you are putting my mate in danger." The alpha voice coming out and shaking the boys to their bones.

"Babe, we're here to help save Dev. She's one of us." The sweet voice of Jake came to Colby's ears, calming him down some.

"This could easily be another supernatural creature!"

"Colby. . ." Hearing the heartbroken voice of Corey's voice brings him back to reality.

'This could easily be Jake that I'm looking for. I need to focus on finding Dev.'

"Sorry, Corey. I've lost her scent, but I can try and concentrate harder to find it."

All Colby got in reply was a grateful smile. Colby was overwhelmed by the scent of Apples and the musky smell that belongs to Corey. Colby knew instantly that it was Devyn, and she's close. Not taking the time to change back into his wolf form, Colby started to sprint towards the scent.

"I got her scent, but I can't find another scent with her. They must be masking their scent." Colby yells out towards his boys that are trailing behind him.

After running through branches and mud for ten minutes, the boys stumble upon an abandoned barn. Devyn's scent is surrounding the old barn.

"She's in there." Colby whispers to the others.

"I'll go in, get Dev, and come back out."

"You're not going by yourself. If you think you're going in there by yourself you're crazy." Sam says.

Three other yeah's were heard from the group of boys.

"Guys, did you forget that I'm an alpha? I can take care of myself?" Colby rolls his eyes.

"Colby, did you forget that we are a family, and we need you?" Aaron says sternly.

Colby looks at his boys, and understands what they're saying. He wouldn't want them getting hurt either.

"You're right. Let's go get our Dev back."

The boys walk slowly into the old barn, being in there, Colby smells something that smells familiar but he can't figure out what it is. He starts to smell blood, and gets worried.

"I smell blood. I need to listen for another heartbeat."

Colby listens very intently to his surroundings, and starts to hear two or three more additional heartbeats. He starts to follow them immediately.

"Oh my god. There she is." Jake whispers to the others, while looking in a room to the left.

Colby starts for the room, and heads over to Devyn.

"Dev, can you hear me?" He asks while touching her face.

"Colb-" she barely gets out.

"Call 911. Now!"

While Colby is trying to get the chains off of Devyn, the other boys are next to them trying to talk to Devyn and keep her awake.

"Dev, who took you?" Sam asked.

Before they could get an answer, they hear slow clapping coming from the corner.

"Show yourself!" Corey screams at the man.

The boys hear laughing in return, but the shadow figure steps out. The boys are shocked at who it is.

"Brennen. . ." Colby is shocked.

"Why would you do this to her?" Corey asks while trying to hold back tears. "I trusted you. . ."

"Well, you shouldn't have. I wanted to get all of you together today for one reason. . ."

"And what's that?" Colby growls out.

"Well, you tell me. Who's another loved person in the house who isn't here today?" The smirk on his face is sickening.

"Kat. . ." Colby can't believe this. Not her.

"Ahh. Yes."

"Where is she?!" The anger on Sam's face was so strong that even Colby stepped back a bit.

"You want to see her? Okay then. Bring her in." Brennen snaps his fingers and two huge guys bring in a bruised up Kat.

Once Colby saw the bruises on her face, he let out a terrifying growl that caused the men to drop Kat to the floor. Colby could feel his wolf coming out.

"Ah. The alpha has made his appearance!" Brennen says with amusement in his eyes.

"Colby. . ." Sam says while he's holding a barely awake Kat.

Colby turns towards Sam. "Tear him apart." The smirk on Colby face is a sign that he will do just that. What can you expect though? No one messes with his girls.

Colby comes walking out to where the others are standing outside. He has blood on his face and he has a stone look on his face. Until, Jake comes up and wipes the blood off his face, and smiles at him. Colby looks at all his friends with a smile on his face.

"I'm glad you girls are okay." He says.

Both Devyn and Kat come up and hug him.

"Thank you. . . Alpha." Kat says.

"You guys know I don't have to be your Alpha." He says back with a smile.

"But we want you to be. We're already a family anyways." Corey says.

Colby nods and smiles at his pack, and says that they should go before the cops show up.

"They won't figure out its you, will they?" Asks Aaron.

"Nah. I made it look like a prank. They won't find the bodies anyways. . ." Colby says back while patting his belly.

"Gross, dude. You better watch what you say, Gary has a weak stomach." Corey says. All the others laugh at his little jokes.

"Sam. . ." Devyn asks quietly, once the laughing had died down.

"Yeah, Dev?"

"I'm sorry. I should have tried to stay with Kat and protect her. Maybe if I did, they wouldn't have done that to her, but me." She says while almost crying.

"Dev, you didn't do anything wrong. You were so brave in that situation. You handled it perfectly. Don't be sorry for something you couldn't control." Sam replies back while giving her a hug.

"Yeah, Dev. You did so good, hun." Kat says while giving her a hug after Sam.

"I love you." Devyn cries, into Kat's shoulder.

"I love you, too" Kat whispers back.

After their few little hugs, the group finally made it back home. They all head to the living room to watch a movie.

"What do you want to watch, girls?" Colby asks.

"Can we watch The Notebook? Please?" Devyn and Kat both pout their lips at the boys.

Not being able to deny their girls, the boys put on The Notebook and sit down.

Colby sits down and pulls Jake towards him.

"I love you." Jake whispers into Colby's ear.

"I love you, little mate." He whispered back.

The smile on Colby's face never left him that night.

There are little whimpers heard from the very back of the barn. Once you get closer, you can see a little girl, and she lifts her head up to show yellow eyes with tears in them. The little pup finally gets off the floor and runs toward the woods. The little pup knows that she needs to find someone to get her back home before it's too late.

In the distance, the little pup can hear laughing. She starts walking toward the noise.

'Maybe they can help me.'

As it starts to get darker and darker, you can see a small wolf pup starting her journey to find her home.
