《The Amber Paladin》Free Olkarion part 2

You were in Olkarion after you had found a distress signal in a form of spores. The Galra had captured their city and their king, which you had agreed to rescue. And now you were following Ryner, an Olkari who lead you through the vast forest that they now lived in.
As you arrived to a place where smaller trees grew among all those giant ones, you looked around amazed. The whole place really was a mixture of nature and technology, and the Olkari were molding it all to their benefit.
And that's when you saw as one of the Olkari people put their hand on a flower of some sorts, and it started to glow and change. It attached to their arm and transformed into a weapon that the Olkari could shoot with. "Umm Ryner, where are we?" Keith asked curiously while looking around. "This is the armory." Ryner replied calmly.
"Did that flower really just transform into...a gun?" You then asked amazed. And Ryner just nodded at you with a satisfied smile on her face before she placed her hand on one of the trees and closed her eyes. And you looked at her puzzled. What was she doing?
But just then the bark under her hand started to glow and streams of light started to climb up the tree, all the way to the top. Like veins traveling through the tree trunk. And you all gasped. And that's when suddenly something dropped down from the tree, right in front of you, making you jump back from the surprise.
And then that something started to transform. It grew arms as it rose up to it's feet and opened up a dome on top of it, revealing a chair in the opening. And suddenly it resembled a big robot suit that was made out of wood. "Are those like wooden mech suits?" Hunk asked baffled.
"Cool!" Lance sighed amazed, even though he looked like he was also scared at the same time. "Uh, can I get one of those?" Keith then asked with wide eyes, clearly confused, like he wasn't believing what he was seeing. And his expression made you smile widely. You liked seeing all those expressions on his face.
Then Ryner went to one of the flowers and opened it up, revealing six glowing headbands inside of it. "Of course. You can each have one." She smiled as she handed out the headbands to you.
"Now, the key to operating it is understanding that the nanocellulose responds to electrical impulses from the neural pathways connected through this." Ryner explained to you thoroughly. "Do what now?" Lance asked clearly confused while Hunk was already tasting his headband. "Mmm. Mmm! Makes my tongue itchy." He said while licking it.
"Hunk, why do you have to taste everything?" You asked him while trying to contain your laughter. But he just shrugged his shoulders. "To see if it tastes good, of course." He answered you like it was perfectly normal. But you just shook your head as you put the headband on.
"That's your interface?" Pidge asked as she put the headband on too. "Of course, all commands need to come as binary coded messages." Ryner explained. And that's when Pidge walked over to a tree and put her hand on it.
"So...like this?" She said while closing her eyes and focusing. And soon the same kind of glow started to emit under her hand as it traveled to the top of the tree, making one of the pods drop down. "Yes! Excellent!" Ryner said cheerfully as Pidge had succeeded.

"Alright then..." You then mumbled to yourself as you put your hand on one of the trees, feeling the bark beneath your palm. And Keith, Lance and Hunk did the same. But before you could even close your eyes, you heard Lance sighing. "I think mine is just a tree." He said disappointed when nothing seemed to happen. And that's when you sneered, finally closing your eyes.
Then you started to focus, trying to block all the voices from outside and just concentrate on what you were feeling beneath your hand. And that's when you felt a warmth that soon started to spread like veins under all that bark. And as you focused more, you saw the veins traveling all the way to the top of the tree and to one of the pods on it's branch.
Then suddenly you heard a crashing sound from next to you. And as you opened your eyes, you saw one of those mech suits in front of you. And you smiled. You had succeeded.
Then, just as you took your hand off the tree, you felt someone touching you. And as you looked behind, you saw that Keith was standing next to you, his hand placed on your back, gently stroking it. "Well done." He said quietly while leaning closer, almost whispering to your ear with slightly husky voice. And you immediately realised that you were blushing of the way he said it. And all you could do was to smile bashfully.
When nobody else but you and Pidge had succeeded, Ryner turned to you. And she seemed quite delighted. "You both must have a deep connection with nature." She said while smiling. "Maybe. I have always felt myself at ease surrounded by nature." You kind of nonchalantly answered while inspecting the mech suit next to you. But Pidge just shook her head. "Not me. My allergies and pale skin don't mix with outdoor living." She said as she climbed into hers.
"Pidge is our resident tech expert." Shiro then explained to Ryner, who immediately nodded. "Well, that explains it. Like the Olkari, you understand that, at the deepest level, trees, metal, you, me, we're all made up of the same cosmic dust. And that everything in nature is alive and connected." She explained quite excited.
But that's when Pidge stopped what she was doing. "Does this mean I should start gardening? Cause I'd rather leave that to (Y/N)." She said, pointing at you a bit baffled. But Ryner just smiled. "No, it means you two are going to give your friends a ride." She said and you nodded.
And as you climbed up to your mech suit too, you heard Keith's voice from below. "Mind if I hitch a ride?" He asked you with a small smile. And of course you didn't mind, so he climbed in too. And that's when Pidge looked at you and smirked. "Of course Keith would go with (Y/N). Don't start lagging behind!" She then exclaimed, laughing at the same time. "You're going to eat my dust!" You just yelled back at her as the dome of the suit closed up.
Everyone else climbed to Pidge's and Ryner's mech suits, and you were pretty sure they had already realised that there was something going on with you and Keith, even though you hadn't said it aloud yet. But it probably was pretty evident already.
As you took the handles of the mech suit, you got the feel of it. And then you carefully started to speed up, pushing the handles. And even though the mechanism was the same as in your Lion, it still felt different as the mech suit was gliding on the surface.

"Wow, this is...strange. It definitely feels different. I guess I'm just not that used to operating different kinds of vehicles, like you." You then said as you quickly glanced at Keith. And that's when you felt him putting his hand on your shoulder. And it felt so natural that you couldn't help but smile as you speeded up more, just leaving dust clouds behind you.
When you emerged from the forest and arrived at the edge of the city where the Galra were, you noticed that it looked quite futuristic. "Their headquarters are impenetrable from the ground, but there is one way in, a small opening in the roof. It goes all the way down to an open courtyard. From there you will have total access to the building. The hard part will be getting onto the roof undetected." Ryner explained as images of the city appeared on your mech screen. "That won't be a problem." Shiro answered her proudly, talking about the Green Lion's cloaking ability that Pidge had installed.
But that's when Hunk spoke. "Hey, hey, what's that? Is that part of the building?" He asked. And as you looked at the screen, you noticed a huge black cube at the center of the city. It resembled the cube that Coran had, just bigger. "My Lubos! It can't be!" Ryner suddenly gasped, clearly shocked.
"What's wrong Ryner?" You asked concerned. "This...only King Lubos could have designed one that size. They must have made him reveal his designs and reconstruct it as a weapon. From the looks of it, I'd say it's almost finished." Ryner started to explain, her voice almost scared. "Okay, we need to act fast. Everyone, back to base. I have a plan." Shiro immediately ordered. And you obeyed as you turned the mech suit around and started to make your way back to the base as fast as you could.
When you were back, you immediately went in the Green Lion and started following Shiro's plan. As you soared into the sky and headed towards the city, Pidge put on the cloaking device. And when you were on top of the tower, you others dropped down, leaving Pidge in the Lion. It was a long drop but you used your jet packs to slow down the fall and make the landing safe. Then Shiro put a sensor on the ground that scanned the place to locate Olkari biorhythms. And soon you got the location of Lubos and then you were off.
After a moment of careful walking, you arrived at a door. And as you closed in on it, you heard crying coming from inside the room. "Are they torturing him?" You silently asked as you started to get worried for Lubos.
But when Shiro opened the door, to your horror you saw an Olkari male just sitting there, watching a movie and crying. And you immediately frowned. Was that Lubos? Besides him was another Olkari and nobody else. What the hell!?
Everyone seemed quite dumbfounded of what was going on. But then Shiro finally stepped forwards. "King Lubos?" He carefully asked. And that's when the person startled and turned around. "Yes? Who are you? The jesters I requested?" He asked, looking at you despised. And at that moment you felt slightly sick to your stomach. Was that really Lubos, the king of the kind Olkari people?
"Um, we're here to, like, rescue you?" Lance explained confused. And that's when Lubos immediately pressed a button on his chair. And suddenly alarms started blaring and immediately a bunch of Galra sentries ran to the room, pointing their guns at you. And that's when everyone took out their bayards, ready to fight.
Then a big and mean looking Galra commander stepped in front of the sentries. "Looks like someone came to rescue you, Lubos." He said while smirking amused. And that's when you glared at Lubos. "What is happening in here?" You demanded to know.
"I'm doing this for my people! They wanted to fight the Galra, but they are too powerful!" Lubos tried to defend himself. "No, you just saved your own skin!" You raised your voice back irritated. "You helped enslave your people to build some super weapon!" Lance also yelled, clearly getting angry too.
"Don't make me the bad guy! He forced me to do it!" Lubos yelled back, pointing at the Galra commander. "Did he force-feed you, too?" Lance asked while glaring at him. "Or did he force you to request jesters?" You asked, getting more irritated by the second, glaring at Lubos who started to seem panicky.
But that's when Keith dashed to Lubos. "You're no king." He said angrily while trying to take a hold of him. But Lubos saw him coming and tried to run away, when the other Olkari pushed him back. And that's when Keith took a hold of Lubos and placed his bayard on his throat.
"Okay, we're walking out of here! Anyone tries to stop us and Lubos gets it!" He growled while pushing the bayard closer, trying to ensure your safe return. "Whoa, K-Keith!" Shiro instinctively yelled, surprised of his actions. But you just kind of ended up staring at him and thinking of how hot it was. Until you shook your head. You couldn't let your mind wander now.
"You don't want me to hurt your genius engineer, right?" Keith still threatened while tightening the hold he had on Lubos. But that's when the Galra commander sneered. "Oh, be my guest. His work is done. The cube is complete." He just coldly answered to Keith's threats. And that's when you gasped. And so did Lubos. "What? But I thought we had a deal!"
"Guards, put them all out of their misery." The Galra ordered. But before anyone could act, a huge laser beam blasted across the room, knocking some of the Galra sentries out. "Your ride is here!" Pidge's happy voice was heard on the intercom as the Green Lion peeked through the hole it had just created on the wall.
"Engage the cube! Take down the Lion!" The Galra immediately commanded as you all ran out of there and jumped on top of the Green Lion, Lubos still with you. And when the sentries realised to start shooting at you, you were already gone.
While you were flying back to the base, you saw as the cube became operational, just a huge dust cloud rising from underneath it. And soon it started to float slowly upwards, very ominously. And you knew you had to get to your Lions, fast!
And when you finally got back to the base, Keith just shoved Lubos, their supposed king, to the ground. "Lubos..." The Olkari people all started to whisper to each other when he fell on his knees in front of them. And that's when Ryner stepped forwards, glaring at their king. "What's going on?"
"While your countrymen starved, King Lubos was well taken care of by the Galra. He willingly helped them build that cube, willingly helped to enslave his own people." Shiro explained to Ryner what had happened, seemingly irritated. And that's when all the Olkari people started to silently mutter. They couldn't believe that their beloved king had betrayed them.
"Lubos, how could you?" Ryner looked down on their king, her eyes burning with hatred. Lubos tried to make up some excuses, but Ryner wouldn't hear of it. "Enough!" She just yelled at him. "I know you're devastated, but it's time to be strong and use your Olkari spirit to fight alongside Voltron and take back your planet!" Shiro then spoke, like a true freedom fighter. And to that Ryner nodded and all the Olkari people started to cheer.
Then you hurried to your Lions. You needed to get to the cube fast. And when you all were up in the air, you immediately formed Voltron. And with Voltron, you flew back to the city.
When you saw the cube from closer distance, it sent shivers down your spine. It felt ghostly for some reason. Maybe because it was just floating there eerily. "All right, team, let's take that thing down!" Shiro ordered firmly. And since you were all irritated of Lubos' actions, you wanted to break that cube apart more than anything.
Just then the cube fired a laser at you. But you evaded it pretty easily while flying towards it. "Let's see how tough this magic cube is." Keith said, sounding almost excited. And straight after that the Red Lion shot a laser at the cube.
But to your surprise, the cube just seemed to absorb the laser. And then it shot it back at you. "We need to increase firepower! Hunk, use your blaster!" Shiro ordered. "I'm not sure this is a good..." Pidge started to say, but before she could finish her sentence, Hunk had already formed the shoulder cannon and shot at the cube. And the cube again seemed to absorb all the lasers, soon firing them back at you.
"It's giving back whatever we fire into it." Shiro said, like he had finally realised that. "That's what I was trying to tell you guys! It's learning! Making its own versions of our weapons!" Pidge yelled clearly irritated from being ignored. And you knew you should always listen to Pidge. She clearly was the brains of your jolly bunch.
"Maybe, if we form our sword, we can cut through the surface and hack right into the center thinking point place?" Lance then tried suggesting when your lasers wouldn't work. But he just sounded like even he was questioning his own plan. And you couldn't help but let out a laughter. "Lance, try to sound more convincing when you come up with a possible plan!"
"Let's form the sword!" Lance suddenly yelled. "Well, better?" He then asked you straight after. And you could hear from his voice that he was smirking. "Hey, that's my line!" Shiro then exclaimed slightly amused, even though the situation was nothing to laugh at. But then you heard Keith sighing. "Come on, focus. We should at least try, can't be any worse than what's happening now." He said, almost irritated. And that's when Shiro cleared his throat. "So, let's form the sword!" He finally said.
Keith formed the sword as you flew towards the cube. And when you were close enough, he just sliced it in two. And for a moment the two halves of the cube were immobile, and you held your breath. Was that it? But it was too early since the cubes soon started to work again. And now there were two cubes instead of one since both of the halves were functional. Great.
"Re-engage!" Shiro still ordered, and Voltron sliced both of the cubes in half with the sword. And now there were four cubes instead of two. And all of those cubes started to fall down. "We did it! They're going down!" Hunk immediately started to cheer. And even though you loved how Hunk was always among the first to celebrate, you couldn't believe it was just that easy. Nothing was just that easy. And before the cubes fell to the ground, they started working again.
The cubes immediately started firing lasers at you. And you struggled, trying to evade shots from four cubes now. "We can't fight them like this! Back into Lions!" Shiro ordered when you were having a hard time. And straight away you disbanded Voltron.
And when you were back in your Lions, you tried to think of another plan. "Let's see if I can freeze these guys!" Lance said, sure of his plan. "Lance, no!" You tried to yell, but he had already fired the shot. And the cube of course absorbed his ice beam and shot it back at Lance, making the Blue Lion's head freeze.
"Oh, no! So cold, so cold! " Lance whined. "Lance! Don't you remember that it shoots back everything!" You said a bit irritated that he really did something so stupid. But then Keith came to Lance's rescue by shooting a fiery beam towards the Blue Lion, making the ice melt. "Thanks, Keith." Lance said to him. "You got it." Keith answered, sounding quite content.
But just then you saw as two cubes shot at the Green Lion, and it was hit. "Pidge!?" You yelled as you saw her Lion starting to fall somewhere down to the forest. "The Green Lion's in trouble!" You then informed the others while starting to follow her.
But suddenly those two cubes started to shoot lasers at you, like they didn't want you to go help her. And you had to quickly evade and back down. "Pidge! Are you okay?" Hunk tried to call out to her, but you heard nothing. "Pidge, can you hear me!?" You tried again. But when she still didn't answer, you could only hope that she was alright.
Soon you noticed how the cubes seemed to team up to get someone down. First Pidge, and then Hunk got shot too. And then they started firing lasers at you. And since you couldn't shot at them back, you just tried your best to evade them. But you still got hit, making the Lion immobile for a moment and falling down on the ground. Then straight after you was Lance, then Keith and lastly Shiro. The cubes were overpowering you and your Lions couldn't move.
But just when everyone started to get desperate on what to do, you suddenly saw the Green Lion soaring out of the forest. "Guys, hang on!" Pidge's voice was heard on the intercom. And you immediately felt relieved. She was all right!

8 194Death's Daughter | Supernatural, D.W.
My life is normal, or at least relative to it. Really, how normal does life get, being the offspring of the most murderous of beings, the undertaker himself? Being Death's daughter isn't easy. Existence itself is a trying subject; even more trivial when it's based around taking the lives of (mostly) innocent people. The word mostly is an asterisk for people like Sam and Dean Winchester. My father informed me of them at a young age after a reaping that had obviously gone sideways. "If you have the chance," he instructed me, "drag those obnoxious cock roaches down to Hell, and leave them there."Then, one day, two flannel-clad idiots and their angel on a leash wander into my jurisdiction of the veil. My life has never been the same; my life has never been the preconceived notion of 'normal' that it once was.Disclaimer: I do not own any characters or plot lines from Supernatural.
