Winter was still laying motionless in her bed, fast asleep. She might not know, but there was almost always someone at her side, watching over her. This time it was Doctor Hopper, Henry and, not to mention, Pongo.

He was resting his head on his paws, his eyes trained on the girl's sleeping figure and his tail slaps against the side of the bed repeatedly. Henry sits at her side on a chair, holding his storybook on his lap. Doctor Hopper, who could not take his eyes off the young girl, thinks of the very first time they met. Not in Storybrooke, but in the Enchanted Forest. He had only once encountered Princess Winter. She was from the same land that Gepetto came from and he had once made a drawer for the royal palace.

He remembers her as true of heart, kind to anyone she met. Jiminy smiles at the now sleeping princess. "I can not imagine what she could have done to deserve such a fate. Taken from her family, then taken again to Neverland. It must have been horrific for her," he says.

Henry did not respond as he was eagerly turning pages, almost like he was searching for something. "What are you doing, boy," the therapist asks, shifting his gaze from Winter to the young ten year old. Henry shrugs his small shoulders. "Just.. seeing.." He finally lands on a new chapter in his book. A story called 'Princess Snowflake'.

"Is that Winter's story," Archie asks. Henry nods as his eyes begin to follow the lines of text, reading the written words. "Then why is it called that way?" "Because that's what Belle called her during their time at Rumplestiltskin's castle. It was her nickname. And.. snowflakes fall during the winter, so.."

"And what is it you're looking for?" The boy sighs and lays the book flat on his lap, the flicker of hope he had before softly dying out. "I was hoping there was something new about her, something that can break the curse. I don't know why Belle and Rumplestiltskin don't do it- they were close to her parents, they should be her True Love!"

Archie leans forward, grasping Henry's attention. "Mr Gold told me something about her destiny, and that she is not supposed to be awake now." Henry curls his lip up in distaste. "That's nonsense! He just wants her to stay put while he goes to look for his real son." Doctor Hopper scolds him for saying it, but the doubt was already sowed.

Was it really again for his own selfish reasons that he didn't want her awake right now?

While Emma and Hook were climbing the bean stake, hoping to find the compass once they reach the top and not be crushed by a bloodthirsty giant, Mulan was drawing lines in the sand with a wooden stick under the watchful eyes of Snow White and Aurora.

Mulan makes up a lie about why she needs a clock, something about taking turns in sleeping so they would get enough rest for a night of walking. She tried to hide the truth: that she needs to know when the 10 hours that Emma gave her were up and cut the bean stake down.

Snow offers to take the first shift, in which Aurora adds in a little too fast. Mulan goes off to take a nap while the two princesses stay up. Mary Margaret has a feeling why Aurora was so eager to stay awake and asks her when the last time was that she slept. "I don't really sleep now. Not after what I've been through."

"Sleeping Curse," Snow states. "The one time I did sleep, I had horrible nightmares," Aurora explains. "It's a side effect," Mary Margaret ensures her. The brown haired woman feels chilly when she realizes that once Winter wakes up, she will undergo the same. When the princess lost Philip, there was only one goal left for her, one reason to stay alive and continue fighting: the hope to finish her fiancé's mission to find his sister.

Mary Margaret explains what her husband did for her when she woke up from nightmares and it made the left princess long to see her fiancé again. "Sounds like he lives up to his name," Aurora responds. "Yeah.." Both women felt awful at that moment: Aurora for feeling slightly jealous and Snow White for bringing up her husband to a woman who has just lost her loved one and reminding herself constantly of Charming.

"Umm.. why don't you try.. to sleep. I'll watch over you. You'll be safe," Snow promises. Aurora takes a deep breath of relief. "Thank you." The brown haired princess searches for a soft spot to lay down as Mary Margaret looks with a certain longing to the bean stake.

A longing to see her daughter back, safe and sound.

A few hours later, shortly after Hook and Emma managed to knock the giant out with the powder of the poppies that Mulan gave them, the warrior female had woken up to check the time. It was getting awfully close to the ten hour limit the blonde had given her. Both Mulan and Snow were startled by hearing the muffled cries of Aurora, who was shaking in her dreams.

Mary Margaret wakes the princess up, promising her that it was just a dream. "It was horrible," the woman cries. "Why don't you tell me about it? Do you want to tell me about it? Come on, let's stand. Tell me," Snow says in a calm, warm voice as the terrified princess was taking deep breaths. "It was the same as last time." Mary Margaret gives her an encouraging nod which tells Aurora to continue. "I was in this room, this- this red room. It was bright. Blood red curtains. There was no windows or doors so it didn't make sense, and I couldn't get in or out. I was trapped. The curtains- they were on fire. It was horrible."

Mary Margaret rushes to her side to hold the woman's arms. "It's okay." Aurora clutches to the woman's arms. "I was hunched in a corner, and I looked over into the other corners. In the shadows, there was someone else there. Two different people. I just see his eyes, he was looking right at me. The other I couldn't see, a shadow was standing over it's figure, but I think it is a girl-"

Snow cuts her off and cups the girl's face. "It's okay. It's over now. These nightmares- they will fade away, I promise." Aurora's panting softly stops. "Did they for you," she asks with uncertainness. "Yeah, come on. Come on," Mary Margaret says, sitting down," I'll sit with you until you fall back asleep. Who else do I have to take care of?"

Hesitantly, Aurora comes closer and goes to lie down, her head resting on Snow's lap.

When the ten hours were up, Mulan had no other choice than to march up to the bean stake. Snow jumps up, waking Aurora in the process. After Mulan gives it the first blow, the angry mother tackles the warrior and they start fighting. In the end, it might be better that they did, because it gave Emma the chance to jump the last metres down. She tells them to start packing, but Aurora took a good look and noticed that Hook wasn't with her.

When she asked about it, Emma responded that he was 'detained' and that they got 10 hours headstart. Mary Margaret takes her daughter aside and asks if she really gave Mulan the order to cut the bean stake down. When she admits she did, the woman scolds her for thinking that she would leave without Emma. The two women hug and they go on the journey to find the dust from the wardrobe, which was still in Cora's possession.

So they could go home.

In the meantime, Henry woke up in Storybrooke, his screams so loud that they send David flying down the stairs. David lights a candle and Henry tells him about his nightmare: the room without doors or windows, flaming curtains, the person on the other side of the flames that stared at him. The girl on his left, trapped into a corner as she sobs. The shadow that was standing before her, as if shielding her from the flames.

A nightmare that is very similar to a nightmare others have, one in a different land and someone also in Storybrooke.
