He was in the flaming room again, screaming out for someone to help him get out of there. Through the flames before him he sees a woman, her back turned to him. Her brown hair was waving, just as her cloak. He yells at her. "Hey! Hey! Who are you?"
The figure was getting closer to him, hunched over to protect herself. "Where are we?" The figure did not respond and he hears soft sobbing to his left. The same girl curled up in the corner. The shadow was standing before her, towering over the girl. His darkness protects her from the light of the flames.
"Where are we, please? Aaah!" His hand was scorched by the flames when he reaches his hand towards her. It was then that he was ripped away from this dream world by his mother's voice. Well, adopted mother's voice. "Henry? Henry, wake up." He jumps up, his arms lunching forward to hug the woman. "It's okay, it's okay. You're okay," she says to him as he pants in fear.
"Wh-wh-what are you doing here? Where's David," Henry asks as he sits up in his bed, not noticing the tiny bit of brokenness in Regina's eyes. "He got an emergency call this morning and he asked me to look after you. He told me you've been having nightmares. It's okay, you can-" The worried woman wants to hold her son's hand, but he jerks it back under a pained "Aah!".
Regina gasps when she grasps his fingers and brings the blisters and irritated, red skin to the light. "Is that a burn," she asks in wonder as Henry groans in pain.
His dreams were more real than they thought..
David was gone for the whole day, investigating a mysterious murder with Red and Granny. He had asked Regina to stay with Henry, which gave her the opportunity to call Gold to inspect the boy's burn marks. Henry holds his hand up, mark turned to Gold. He rests his hands on his cane and looks at the Evil Queen, who stands right next to Henry with a serious expression on her face.
"Oh, yes. You were quite right to call me." "So y-you can help," Henry asks, looking up at Rumplestiltskin," It was just a dream." "Well, what you're describing's certainly not a dream," Gold tells him. "Then what was it," Regina asks, her tone cool and low.
"A side effect. You know, it's remarkable you'd cast a curse you know so little about," Rumplestiltskin replies, taunting Regina a little. "My victims are not supposed to wake up," the woman retorts back in a snarl," That's why I certainly never cared what happened to them after. Until now," she says. Gold had walked over to his bag and opens it. He takes a little bag and a vial of blue potion from it while saying:" When people fall under a Sleeping Curse, the soul travels to a netherworld, where it resides until awoken. Now this world is between life and death and it's very real. However.. even when the curse is broken, sometimes in sleep, the victims find their way back to that world, victims like you."

He explains this all while taking a pendant from the bag, filling it with potion from the vial. Henry walks up to him, watching what he is doing. Regina steps by as well. "This other world is tormenting my son every time he sleeps. I want you to give him something that will keep him from going there," the black haired queen orders.
"Well, I'm afraid that's not possible, though I'd really want that option for when Winter awakes. I can, however, provide you with something that will allow him to control his actions whilst in that world. And once one controls something, one no longer need fear it," Mr Gold says. He holds the pendant out while Henry watches it bungle. He scrunches up his face. "A necklace?"
"You wear this while you're sleeping. Once you control the journey, the fear will stop. And then you can come and go as you please," Gold explains and he holds the necklace out for Henry. He takes it and stares at it shortly.
"Why don't you give a thing like this to Winter? Then, she can control this too," Henry asks. Gold sighs. "It only works when the person has awoken from the Sleeping Curse. Winter, unfortunately, has not." The young boy wipes his grim thoughts away, runs to his bedside and places the necklace on his nightstand.
Now nothing can stop him from controlling his fears. Maybe he could find out who those other two girls were!
David was still trying to find a way to prove Ruby innocent of Billy's death, but until now he didn't have much luck. He dropped her off at Gold's house to stay by Winter's side, as he requested. Gold had promised to watch over her while Belle would watch over Ruby in the town's library.
Henry quickly ran upstairs and settles at Winter's side, holding his beloved book on his lap on the chapter 'Princess Snowflake'. He takes a deep breath and begins reading:
"The sun goes up and down as days pass by. People were thrilled, excited, as the moment should be there soon. The moment that Queen Anastasia would give birth to the second heir to the kingdom's throne. The prince or princess was overdue, making everyone sit at the edge of their seat, waiting for their queen to either huff or puff. Any sign of labour would be enough to bring the whole castle in a frenzy.
But then, the moment was there. The queen had been having a nap during the afternoon when she suddenly noticed she had wetted the mattrass. She alarmed a maid and the news spread like wildfire. The heir was coming. A letter was sent to prince Philip, who was on his journey back to the castle. The prince was camping close by the palace and once he received the news, he ordered to pack. Philip himself went forward, hoping he would be there when his brother or sister was born. The prince rode his horse through the palace gates in haste. He wanted to make it on time.

When Philip sprinted into the palace, he noticed that no one was there. They were probably all around the royal bedchambers, waiting for the prince or princess to arrive. At the moment he arrived in his parents' chambers, the midwife announced that one last push would do to birth the heir. His father sat by his mother's bedside, holding her hand. Philip rushed to her other side and holds her hand.
"You came on time," his mother whispered breathlessly. "I do my best," the prince joked. The midwife drew their attention by yelling at the queen to push. Anastasia's face, red and sweaty, scrunches up in pain as she pushes once more, screaming out her pain and frustration. The midwife catches the royal baby as it arrives to the earth while the queen lays back in the barrier of cushions behind her.
Then, there was a wailing sound that accompanies the queen's panting. The sound of a newborn experiencing breathing air.
"Congratulations, your grace, your grace, my prince. It is a princess," the woman announces, laying the babe on her mother's chest. She begins wiping the blood off with a towel as the three members of the royal family now welcome the fourth addition. "Welcome to your kingdom, little princess. Princess.." The queen looks outside to their land, covered in a thick layer of snow. "-Winter. Princess Winter."
"Stories will not bring her back like they did to Prince Charming, boy," a voice says. Henry looks up and sees Mr Gold, leaning in the doorway. He doesn't look at the young boy, but instead at Winter. "But they might make her remember who she's supposed to be. You know.. for when she wakes up," Henry says.
Rumplestiltskin shakes his head as he smiles lightly. "You sure do believe much, don't you boy?" Henry shrugs his shoulders with a smile in response. "I learned from someone to not give up on hopes and beliefs and I'm not going to let her down."
The man with the cane takes a step inside the girl's bedroom. "I was asked to take you back to the apartment." Henry closes the book and stares up at Gold. "How's Ruby?" "Well, I presume. She wasn't killed by the town, so I suppose she's okay." Before Henry could ask something else, Gold walked away and leaves Henry no choice but to follow him back to his own home.
"David told me for you to go to bed. He will talk to you tomorrow morning. Goodnight, Henry," Mr Gold says before leaving the condo and locking the door with the key that Charming gave him to borrow for today. Henry changes into his night clothing, brushes his teeth and goes to bed. He was off so fast that he did not hear David and Ruby, entering the room, anymore.
The man stands by the boy's bed, looking down at his sleeping figure. He seemed peaceful. Ruby looks at the pair from the wall, hugging her red cloak to her body. "He may never see his mother or grandmother again," David sighs. He gives Ruby a short glance and huffs," How am I gonna break that news to him?"
"You won't have to," Red responds, being the voice of hope. "Travel between worlds is as hard as it comes. Fairy dust on its own isn't enough," David says as the two walk closer to each other," It took an entire curse to get us here in the first place. Without the hat-" "You'll find another way," Ruby says.
"You don't know that." "But I know you, and I know you'll never give up until you do," she responds wittily. David chuckles. "And, David, you're not gonna be doing this alone." The latter sighs deeply and thanks Red.
"Do you mind giving Granny a call?" Ruby asks and she walks off. David follows her and asks: "Sure. Why? What for?" "I may have left Belle chained up in the library. Somebody should probably-" "Unchain her?" Charming asks with a light chuckle to his voice while Red sounded over all guilty. "Yeah." "Yeah, I'll take care of it." Red leaves, taking her wolfstime to go for a run.
She was going back to how she was before and it was good.
David hears Red howling outside and smiles. He turns back to Henry's sleeping body in the bed and notices that his hand clutches a necklace around his neck. Regina explained it was to prevent him from harming himself in the dream world. He wonders what the boy was dreaming of..
The boy in question was in his dream world. He was surrounded by fire and hears a woman's screaming. The familiar sobbing in his left ear wasn't there. Was she asleep, or dead? Henry closes his eyes and holds his necklace tightly. "Wait," he says, calling out to the scared woman," Don't be scared." She stops screaming and stares at the boy. It was then that she wakes up. In a panic she calls for Snow White.
Snow grabs her hands and sits down by her, telling her it was just another nightmare. "No, this time, it was different. There was a little boy. He.. he put out the fire. He talked to me," Aurors explains and she desperately hopes that they don't think she's crazy. "A little boy," Snow asks. "What'd he say?" Emma joins in, squatting down by the two women.
"He said.. he said his name was Henry," she says. The mother and daughter were startled and look at each other. Could she be talking about.. their Henry?

No More Respawns
Synopsis: The first time Allen died, he was forced back into a living hell where death is temporary, and power is all that matters. With evil and depravity as the rule, tragedy becomes comedy and life becomes an act. Only a deal with a shady god can get him back to his old life, but what happens if there’s nothing left to save? Maybe hell isn’t so bad if you have infinite lives… until you don’t. Needless to say, it’s all fun and games until there’s no more respawns. Foreword: This story is meant primarily as an action adventure and secondarily as a dark and nihilistic comedy. It may not be readily apparent in the beginning, but that's what I have planned (I feel the need to emphasize the dark; don’t rage at me if it gets too ‘traumatizing’ or something). I’m going to take my time with this, so it won’t immediately inundate you with doom and gloom. This is also a comedy, remember? On that note, if for some cursed reason you just can't handle either the references or the jokes, I am willing to battle in the comments. Anyway, I still put a significant amount of effort into the system, so I hope you enjoy that part. It is a little bulky, I'll admit to that, but I wanted to try something new and its more fun when there's more depth to it. Regardless, I still have a lot of fun doing math in the middle of writing a fictional story (/s). I also want to see if I can keep from messing up the pacing. Many times, I end up going too fast because I'm afraid of the story getting boring, which tends to ironically have the opposite effect. I'm still learning I suppose; we'll see how things go. Lastly, please leave reviews and comments, they really mean a lot to me and (usually) help me improve considerably. I'll be asking for feedback in the polls and I do still check the old ones from time to time. Notes: The story takes a bit of time to develop; give it time if you're here for drama, grimdark, or antihero. The system is all blue boxes and I'm not half-assing the numbers. Chapters will be between 1k and 2k words usually. I always use the oxford coma, fight me. Might drop if rating falls below 4 stars, idk. It depends on how my life is going. Cover drawn by yours truly in MS paint. (I have skill, I know)

Soul of the Warrior
In a world where Classes, Stats, and Levels are the everyday norm, Reivyn has a secret. He was unusually aware of his surroundings from an incredibly early age, and Skills and Stats were acquired easily. He was just the son of an ordinary village family, and nothing appeared out of the ordinary on the surface. But below the surface, dreams of another life help shape his mentality and growth. Why does he have some remembrance of a past life, and what is his purpose in this new one? "Soul of the Warrior" is what I call a Semi-Isekai LitRPG. I say "semi," because Reivyn's past life is remembered like a dream, and very incomplete. It is still Isekai, though, as he remembers enough that it directly shapes his personality and his sense of self. The System that governs the world of "Soul of the Warrior" is a combination of modified versions from Selkie's "Beneath the Dragoneye Moons" and Kosnik4's "Magic Smithing." I have changed enough of these Systems and combined them in a way that is unique that I'm mostly sure it's fine, but I still have requested permission to use these ideas. They have both graciously granted me permission. Winner of the April Writathon Challenge. Release Schedule is Mon, Wed, Fri on Royal Road.
