For Silas, the days slowly inched closer to his wedding – the wait for him to marry Maria was maddening for him. He was finally just a day away from the wedding. Tomorrow he will finally be able to call Maria his wife again. Where he knows that Maria wants to marry him, she is willing to be his wife but still, the shadow of the doubt lingers over him, not because he thinks that Maria will change her mind but because of Sean.

Alice told him that she met Sean and how he was trying to manipulate her into believing that Ezra wasn't safe with Maria and him. Silas was furious to hear that. He always thought that Sean was willing to hurt him to get him off his way to Maria, but after what Alice told him – he realized that he will hurt anyone for Maria, even if it is Maria herself. Sean's obsession with her was fretting Silas, he was more and more concerned about her and Ezra's security. Up until now he always believed that Sean was trying to intimidate him with his empty threats but now, he was worried that Sean might act on his sinful thoughts.

Silas was staring into the empty sky – he couldn't even catch a glimpse of a single star or even the moon tonight – they were probably hiding under a thick blanket of clouds. It had been raining all day long – but it had finally stopped. Silas's eyes roamed on the sky that displayed a slight orange shade. "It might rain again," Silas was startled by a sudden voice from behind him.

He didn't think anyone was around until he turned around to see Elizabeth looking up at the sky before she looked at her brother and smiled. She was dressed perfectly for the weather, over the long dark green dress, she wore her black and golden pashmina shawl – it gracefully wrapped around her – guarding her against chilly winds. Where Silas was dressed in a plain black button-up shirt and an old pair of jeans – unlike his sister he liked the chilly wind biting against his skin.

Silas tugged his lips up in a half-smile, "Yes, maybe." He replied. Elizabeth blew her cheeks out as she stood beside her brother, her hair disassembled by the cold breeze – her fingers over the cold railing and her eyes on the city from up, "New York can only look this peaceful from up here," She chuckled.

Silas looked down as well and nodded, "True," he paused before he added, "No matter how chaotic this city is – I can never stop loving it. No matter where I go – how peaceful or vibrant the place is, after a couple of days I start to miss this city." He turned his head to look at Elizabeth before he continued, "All that time we lived in London, I missed my life in New York," he smiled, "This city has some kind of pull in it – I don't know what it is, but it is pretty amazing," he said.

Elizabeth heaved a sigh and nodded, "I get it. You feel for New York like I feel for London – I missed that place," she replied. Silas wasn't surprised that she missed their home back in London. She went to college there, she had her friends there, and then all the time she spends with their mother – taking care of her – of course, she was more drawn to London. Elizabeth looked up at the sky and spoke after a pause, "But you know what?" she said and looked at Silas, "No matter what, I would never like to go back to London," she told him. "That city, without mom – I don't know – I don't think it would feel like home without all the craziness," she shrugged and chuckled. "All the yelling and calling names, crying and the chaos – it will not be the same without it all," she added.

Silas wordlessly looked at his sister who still seems to struggle in accepting the absence of their mother. Silas is not ignorant – he sees how much does Elizabeth misses their mother and he does not blame her. She was there with Ruby when no one else was – she has seen Ruby Harrison through thick and thin.

Silas doesn't blame Elizabeth for missing Ruby – even after how she ruined his and Maria's life. Silas heaved a sigh, "You miss her, don't you?" Silas asked Elizabeth after a small pause. Elizabeth didn't look at her brother. She kept on looking out at the bright and lively city from above. She licked her lower lip and shrugged. She turned her head to look at Silas and with a small but sorrowful smile, she asked, "Is that a bad thing?" she asked. Her voice wobbled and her bright eyes glossed as she questioned, "Does missing her make me a bad person?"

Elizabeth is tired of pulling up a brave face. She doesn't even remember about Ruby's death – she doesn't remember the rush of emotions she must have felt when she received the news and for the first time since she has lost a chunk of her memory – she is thankful that she doesn't remember those details.

Elizabeth lost Ruby when she decided to end her own life – she didn't lose her mother then. Her mother died long ago – she died when her selfishness blinded her maternal feelings. It was already painful enough for her to lose the mother, it got hard when the shell of a woman went herself. She didn't have anything to cry on now – she didn't have anyone to blame on. Ruby was gone and she took the faintest bits of a mother with her.

Silas wanted to console his sister but just he was about to another voice interrupted them, "It does not," Marcus said as he stood by the entrance. Marcus returned home only to find that Charlie, Ella, and Kathie have come to Silas's penthouse. Even he knew that she and the girls were there for wedding preparation was just a day away, he didn't feel like staying at his place alone so he decided to come to Silas's place. As usually Owen and Franklin were at Owen's other friend's place – playing chess. Maria and Charlie along with the kids went for some last-minute shopping and thanked Silas's dog was sleeping. Marcus believed that Elizabeth would have gone with Maria and Charlie – but he was wrong when he found her with Silas out on a terrace. He heard what they were talking about and couldn't stop but intervene.

Silas and Elizabeth had no idea that Marcus was present there. He smiled and walked out on the terrace. "I am not going to lie – sometimes I miss her too. When I think about the short but meaningful bonding we shared when I was little – I miss that mother of mine who used to love me even when she wasn't the one that gave birth to me," Marcus told Elizabeth.

Ruby was the most horrible to Marcus – since he was adopted by her and own at a very young age – she never really felt the love she might have believed that she would. Things got even complicated after Silas was born – she starts to feel resentful towards a young boy who wanted nothing but the love of both of his parents.

Where Owen always treated Marcus as his blood – Ruby couldn't do it. For her Marcus soon became an outsider – an odd man out. Silas nodded his head before he blew his cheeks out, "I do too," it was very hard for Silas to accept that. He was still hurt by how his mother played with his life but, he couldn't stop thinking about the mother that loved her and the one that he loved back. After all this time it was still hard for him to believe that his mother could do something so evil.

Charlie and Maria had gone to find another dress for Kathie after she spilled strawberry juice over the last one. Charlie tried but the stain wouldn't go. Maria decided to take Charlie and the kids out shopping – it seemed like a great getaway for the both of them. The two best friends haven't bonded in a long time. There has been so much happening with the two of them that they hardly get any time for each other.

After purchasing a beautiful baby pink silk frock, and matching shoes for Kathie, they all went to get some ice cream. Unlike her previous white frock, Kathie was liking this one – she seemed happy with the purchase or maybe she was just excited for ice cream. They wanted Elizabeth to join them as well – that woman needed a break but she said she will stay home and rest. Maria didn't want to push her to do anything she didn't want to so; they came shopping without. All this wedding mess must have been a lot for her.

As they were getting in the SUV, another car pulled behind them and two of the men, dressed in a casual shirt and jeans got in the car before the car pulled off. Charlie looked at the car speeding away, "Is it weird that I had a weird feeling both those men? I have been seeing them a lot today," she mumbled to Maria, who was handing the shopping bags to the driver who was putting them in the car for her. Maria thanked the driver before she casually glanced at where Charlie was seeing and chuckled, "Two men? One in a yellow shirt and the other in blue?" She asked Charlie.

Charlie's eyes widened, "You noticed then too?" She asked. Maria rolled her eyes and chuckled, "Those are the men Silas hired or whatever," She answered.

Charlie knitted her eyebrows together, looking perplexed, "Wait, what?" she said.

Maria shrugged as she and Charlie and she got into the car after they loaded the kid's seat and placed them in. "Oh yes, I am sure it was supposed to be a secret but I am not stupid. I don't know what is going in his head, but he has been a lot of concern lately – I tried talking about it, but he doesn't let me know what is bothering him so much. Anyway, he always sends someone when I go out – there is always someone around for my security," She explained.

Charlie nodded her head, "Maybe he is just generally concerned – I mean with the wedding and the media," she suggested. Maria waved her hand dismissively, "The media? They were after us because of the juicy gossip they were getting from us. Now that they have cashed it all – they thankfully, don't have anything to do with it. They don't care," Maria replied. "But whatever it is, I am going to find it out," she added. Charlie wordlessly nodded to Maria's response.

The moment the three siblings were having on the terrace was short-lived. Soon Maria and Charlie were back and so were the kids – they got loud and woke up the dog – soon the dogs were barking, Kathie was screaming, Ella and Ezra were crying – it got a whole louder and messier. Silas, Marcus, and Elizabeth walked out and laughed at the scene. Charlie was trying to quiet down Ella, Kathie was screaming running after Bear, who running away from Kathie while barking – that's how they usually play and Maria was on the phone while Ezra was still in the stroller – babbling.

"Dad!" Kathie saw Marcus and yelled as she sprints towards him while Bear saw Marcus and snarled. Silas walked toward Ezra and took him in his arms – Ezra broke into a huge grin as he saw his father while Elizabeth observed her beautiful family. She liked how they were growing. She hoped that troubling would ever cross their path again. Soon, Owen and Franklin returned laughing about something. The only person that was missing was Leo. Elizabeth so badly wants him to take part in her family's event but he always dodged them. She already messaged Leo to come for dinner, but he wasn't there yet. Elizabeth believed that he wasn't coming. She knows how Leo doesn't settle well with her family – even when his sister is marrying her brother, but maybe it is still difficult for Leo to accept it all.

"I am starving!" Owen announced as he had Ella sleeping on his lap, "It is a wonder, she didn't wake up from my stomach's grumbling," he joked as he ran his fingers softly over her head. Charlie, Maria, and Elizabeth laughed while Silas who sat on the floor just beside his father rolled his eyes, "Yeah, I heard that too," he responded. Owen laughed and looked at Kathie, who was also on the floor playing with her Legos, "Well, grandpa is hungry." He said. She giggled, "Me too, grandpa!" she replied. Charlie grinned, "I will go and help in the kitchen," she said and got up on her feet. As she was making her way to the kitchen, the doorbell rang. Elizabeth was quick to get on her feet, "Oh maybe – that is Leo," she said excitedly and rushed to open the door. Charlie chuckled and gave her way to the door.

Elizabeth opened the door, only to find, William – Marcus's assistant on the door. Elizabeth should sink with disappointment but keep on her smile, "Hey," she greeted. She didn't know the man – she wasn't sure what else to say, "Uh, I am so sorry to disturb Mr. Harrison's family time, but can I please see him?" The young attractive man asked.

Elizabeth twisted her mouth, "There are three Harrisons in there, which one are you asking for again?" She asked. William chuckled, "Oh my bad, Marcus Harrison – I am William, his assistant." He replied. "Oh, yeah – yeah, come on in." Elizabeth opened the door for him to walk in.

Just when she was about to close the door, Leo walked out of the elevator with a bottle of wine in his hand. A huge grin broke on Elizabeth's face as soon as she saw him coming. Leo smiled and walked to her – he placed a kiss on his cheek and said, "Waiting for me?" he asked softly.

Elizabeth grinned, "Always," she replied before she placed a soft peck on his lip. "I thought you weren't coming," She said to him. Leo shrugged, "What can I say, just trying to get to know my girlfriend's family better – also, I can be anywhere I am promised to be with you," he added. Elizabeth grinned and hugged him, "I have such a cheesy boyfriend – I love it!" she laughed.

The two of them walked into the penthouse to see Marcus asking Kathie something, "Kathie, sweetheart, where's his dad's phone?" Kathie pointed under the couch.

Charlie clicked her tongue and looked under it to find it under it. Marcus pinched the bridge of his nose, "I am so sorry, William. Somehow my daughter found my phone. I apologize you had to come all the way here to get them signed," He pointed towards the documents.

William smiled, "Oh no, it is okay – it was not a big deal. If you will just sign these so I could take them back to the office," he said. Before Marcus could say anything – Charlie was quick to weigh in, "Why don't you join us for dinner, William?" She asked him before she glanced at Marcus who nodded his head with a smile, "Yes, please – we can get this paperwork done after dinner," He added.

William was turning slightly red as he has never been around Harrisons before, "Uh – no, it is fine." He tried to bail himself out but everyone was persistent. "Oh, come on, William, you must stay." Maria intervened.

William chuckled, "Mrs. Harrison – uh – I –" he was hesitating – he was trying to decline politely when Owen weigh-in – he put his hand on William's shoulder and said, "Come on, kid – have dinner with us – I will pay you a thousand dollar for that," He said.

Everyone was quick to laugh except for very surprised and red William, Silas rolled his eyes and Marcus gaped, "Dad!" they both said simultaneously.

Owen laughed, "What I am hungry and this is taking too long." He said.

William couldn't believe that the mighty Owen Harrison had his hand on his shoulder – he didn't want to speak and embarrass himself so, staying composed – he only managed to wordlessly nod his head.
