After a long time, Maria got the time to herself after Ezra slept early tonight. He was restless during his nap this afternoon and due to which he was cranky all day long. Maria didn't have to put any effort to put him to sleep this night – he fell asleep as quick as a wink. After making sure that, Sandra, the new help Silas hired for Maria and Ezra, put Ezra to bed – Maria said goodnight to Sandra who then went to her room, which was a spare room in his penthouse. After seeing Maria struggle for months with Ezra, Silas decided to hire help for Maria's ease – at first, she was not ready for it. She didn't want anyone else to look after her son but slowly Silas wore her down. She realized that she wasn't able to give everything to Ezra because of her disability. Silas, after a month-long screening, hired Sandra, a middle-aged kind lady who has been a caretaker of her child whose mother was also a differently-abled woman.

In the beginning days, Maria wasn't settling down with the fact that she wasn't doing all the motherly things that she wants to do, but within a few days she realized that this was better for Ezra, he was now getting complete attention and care as he deserves. Sandra stays with Maria and Silas in their penthouse from Mondays to Thursdays and then gets three days off as Silas is around to help Maria around. Maria once again glanced at the baby's monitor to make sure that it was switched on. She had a book laying on her lap that she was so anticipated to read before Ezra was born but now all her interest in that book is drained. She half lay on the bed – her back resting on the pillows. She blew her cheeks out as her eyes went on her cellphone. It was almost midnight and yet Silas wasn't back home. She had called him a few times before and told her that he has some work to finish and he could be late but yet she had an unsettling feeling – she hoped he would return home soon.

On the other hand, Silas sat in dark in his office – everyone has returned to their homes except for him. He sits in dim light – Maria had called him numerous times but each time he lied to her. He didn't have any issues seeing her or his son he can't wait for them to get married so he could take her and Ezra away for a while – just the three of them. But lately, he has been bothered. He was bothered because Sean was a continuous hinder for him. He knows that Maria truly loves him and he has not done anything wrong to be scared of Sean but there was a fear in Silas's heart – he didn't want to lose Maria to anyone.

There were still five days left to his wedding day but as the day is coming closer – the more afraid he is. He is scared that something will go wrong and it will take Maria away from him. He couldn't afford to lose her again. He gulped and looked down at the message that Sean had left for him. it scribed on the note by his assistant. This puts fear in his heart – Sean has nothing to lose and him – he has everything to lose. His soon-to-be-wife and his son – the two people that he love the most in his life. Silas now thinks if he had made a mistake by not letting Maria know about Sean. He should have warned her about him and how he is after her, but she has already been so stressed because Ezra and Silas didn't feel like adding more to her misery. He sighed and closed his eyes – he wanted to take a break from his stressful life and get away from everything with Maria and Ezra. He couldn't wait for the weekend. He couldn't wait to legally make her his again.

Marcus walked back and forth in a smaller room of his penthouse – with his little angel in his arms. Ella was sound asleep in her father's arm while Kathie was sleeping on the bed. Charlie, who stood by the door, watched Marcus in complete awe. Even Marcus came home late after a long day at work but yet he didn't go straight to bed. He always spends time with his girls – even if they were fast asleep. Lately, there has been a lot of tension between her and Marcus – mainly because of Elna – whom she hopes never return in their life. She knows and trusts Marcus when he says that he can't even think of himself with anyone except for Charlie, but still she often feels a pang of insecurity. Although Marcus doesn't like it she still feels like he is completely out of her league and that is why she is often troubled by the thought that someday someone will steal him away from her.

Marcus glanced at Charlie, who he knew stood by the door with her head resting against the doorframe. She looked lost in thoughts – he sighed and kissed Ella's head. She fell asleep about fifteen minutes ago but Marcus didn't feel like leaving her. Finally, he decided to put Ella back in the crib before putting the blanket over her. He switched on the baby's monitor and turned around. His eyes meet Charlie's – he sees her eyes gloss under the dim light. He smiled and walked to her before he placed his hand on her back and softly pulled her closer and placed a soft kiss on her nose. "Hey," he whispered. Charlie closed her eyes and heaved a sigh before she slowly opened her eyes and looked into his, "Hey," she replied.

There was a brief moment of silence. While Marcus kissed her temple and sniffed the sweet scent of her berry shampoo, Charlie wet her lips before she spoke her mind, "Let's get married." Marcus paused as soon as those words escaped her mouth. He pulled away and curiously looked into her eyes – she didn't look away. Her eyes bored into his as she continued, "I don't know how many more problems will come our way or how are we going to deal with them," she said – pointing towards Elna. Charlie continued, "I just know that I don't want to lose you and I want to stand beside you in every aspect of your life – as your wife," she added softly. Marcus kept his eyes on her while she continued, "Why are we waiting, Marcus? I know I said I will marry you after Ella, but there she is now and our new house is almost ready, so why don't we get married in our backyard? What do you say about the new beginning of our new house?" She asked. Charlie didn't feel nervous asking him that. This was something that was in her mind for a long time.

But even if she wasn't hesitant to say any of those things, her heart stopped for a mere second when she didn't see any readable expression on his. Marcus chuckled – his voice broke, "I truly believed that you were having second thoughts about marrying me," he said. Before he blew his cheeks out and placed his hand over his chest, "Wow, my heart – it's racing." He laughed. Charlie chuckled and placed her hand firmly against his chest. A grin broke on her face, "I made your heart race," she replied proudly. Marcus held her face in his palm and placed a kiss on her lips, "You always do," he replied.

Alice, Ezra's biological mother, sits in a small and cozy café – this place was far from her home but she was called here. She has been very busy lately, packing her things, selling her car and her apartment – she was ready to leave this country and start her new beginning in France, where she was offered an ideal job. She felt miserable when she was pregnant with her son – she always knew that she could never be a good mother therefore she asked her ex, Silas, to adopt him with his wife. She sighed as she thought about her son, she remembers seeing him when right after she gave him birth – she never thought that she would feel like a mother but at that moment she did. It was hard for her to give him away – she didn't think that it would be, but it was. But she also knows that she did the right thing. Silas and Maria are going to give her son the life that he deserves. She has been in contact with Silas lately. She wants to see her son, Ezra before she leaves in two weeks.

For the last few days, she has been getting calls from a man named, Sean. She doesn't recall knowing anyone named Sean. Upon asking him, she was told that Sean wanted to talk to Alice about her son. This was the only thing she was told – it was enough for her to come and see this unknown man. She deliberately asked him to meet her in public. She would have ignored him but when he mentioned her son – she couldn't stop herself. She was hoping that everything was okay with Ezra. Alice has been waiting for the last twenty minutes. She was almost done with her coffee when she felt someone tapping her shoulder. Alice turned around to see an unknown man with a soft smile on his face. Alice brought her eyebrows together, "Uh, yes?" she asked. The guy grinned, "Hello, I am Sean – you must be Alice?" He asked. Alice only nodded her head as Sean sat on the table with her, ordering a cup of coffee for himself as well.

Sean was a handsome fellow. He looked like he was in his thirties – maybe mid or late thirties. He had his hair sleek back and was wearing a plain black t-shirt with faded jeans. His facial features were attractive enough. Alice didn't believe that Sean would be a good looking fellow. She gulped – she wasn't sure what this man wanted from her, so she licked her lips and asked, "I – don't know what you need from me, but you mentioned my son on the phone – what was that about?" She asked. Sean smiled, "Yes, I did – your son Ezra, right?" He asked. She nodded her head. "He is a very beautiful child, I saw him myself and he looks happy with Maria – and that Silas," he might have said it with a smile on his face but he didn't feel about the thought of Maria and Silas. Alice nodded, "I know," she replied. She wasn't sure where it was going.

The coffee Sean order was served to him. He thanked the waitress and glanced at the steam releasing from the coffee, "Maria is a wonderful woman – she is caring and a very devoted woman but," he stopped and looked at Alice who was keenly listening to him. She narrowed her eyes, "But what?" she asked him. Sean sighed and leaned back to the chair, "She is – um – disabled. I mean – I truly believe that disabled people can take good care of children, but I am not so sure Maria can. I have seen her struggle," Sean shrugged. Alice looked away from him before she asked, "Who are you, exactly? And how do you know Silas and Maria?" She asked him. Sean smiled, "I am a friend," he replied.

Alice sniggered, "A friend doesn't talk shit about his friends," she replied sourly. "What do you exactly want?" she asked, "Because I am not ready to buy this bullshit about you being their friends," she said. The smile he had on his face dropped as he twisted his mouth – he was already agitated by this woman. "Fine, if you don't want to believe me then, so be it. I was only warning you. I believed that being a mother you will care about your child's wellbeing. I am not saying that he is not being loved – he is, but he is not getting enough care. And it is not Maria's fault – she is on crutches. But think about it, what if her disability harms the baby? I mean, sure – they love the kid as their own but at the end of the day, you are the mother and she is not – emotions and attachments can be different," he shrugged. "I care about the child – I am also a father, so I was just a little concerned about your son. I mean no harm to you, Maria or Silas – friend or not – few things cannot be ignored," he added. Alice was sure that this man was anything but a friend to Silas or Maria but what he said struck her – her son was fine with them, she assured herself.

"All right, people! I don't care about what you couldn't do and what you don't have yet. At least, start up the work with what you have! God, you all are so pessimistic. We have four more days before the wedding. Whatever the issues are I want you all to resolve all of them before Sunday or I swear to God – I will end you all with my bare hands!" A very frustrated Elizabeth yelled out at the contractors as she stood on the top of the table in the Hall wherein four days the reception is supposed to take place. The contractors looked scared of her as they nodded and went back to the workers – showing them around and telling them how everything is supposed to be done in four days.

Elizabeth blew her cheeks out and straightened her dress before she hopped off the table. Silas, Marcus, Maria, and Charlie stood in the corner and witness Elizabeth's outburst. "For the first time, I am scared of her," Marcus commented to which Charlie and Silas nodded while they had their eyes on Elizabeth talking on the phone. "Maybe she needs to take it slow," Charlie suggested. All of them agreed and nodded their heads. "But who is going to tell her that?" Marcus asked. Silas blew his cheeks, "Not me – I am already stressed out about the work and wedding," he said immediately. "I am the bride – I have enough to deal with as well," Maria said.

Marcus turned to look at Charlie and spoke, "Aren't you the maid of honor, and aren't the maid of honors are supposed to deal with these situations?" He asked her. Maria and Silas turned their head towards Charlie – who looked at Marcus and narrowed her eyes, "What did I ever do to you?" She asked him. Marcus smiled, "I love you," he said. She rolled her eyes, "Yeah, whatever." She mumbled and after taking a deep breath she moved towards the charged lion. If this was Elizabeth at Maria's wedding – Charlie wondered what it will be like at her wedding.
