A/N - Sorry I haven't updated this book in a while!

- Paige's POV - July 16th -
So it's been a little over a month.
My brother is fine, he's now at home with Lauren and my still unborn nephew, and he's been honorably discharged from the military but he can't really get on his feet yet because of Covid.
The NWSL is back but the Pride couldn't compete because of some Covid cases that came back positive.
Mom and I are currently at the store getting some snacks for tonight which it's a rainy day and me, her, and Mama are having a family night.
"That's everything right?" Mom asks. "I hope, because I can't fucking breathe." I say. These damn masks are killing me.
"I know, I know. And language please." She says. "Sorry." I say and she just gives me a small smile.
"Alright let's go."
We head towards the checkout and pay before we then run to the car and load the few things before getting in the car.
We begin to drive and we have to be redirected onto the freeway because of a traffic stop.
"Ugh I hate traffic stops because it makes us have to take the longer way home and we need to get out of this rainy weather." Mom complains. "I agree." I say and she gives a small laugh.
She's driving since she and Mama really don't like when I drive in the rain because of how dangerous it is.
Talking about dangerous, there's a dude in a F150 diagonal from us in the lane next to us, who's a little bit ahead of us who's swerving a bit.
We have dash cams in all of our cars so we have record of things.

"Hey Mom, keep an eye on this dude." I say as I continue to watch the dude.
The rain is really coming down too, so that can make everything worse.
We continue down the freeway until we're coming towards a turn that we can take to get home.
We slowly go to turn but the dude in the white truck merges into us, and pushes us into the legit corner of two concrete dividers that keep you from going into the ditch in the turn. Mom hit the breaks as we were merged into so we didn't hit the dividers that hard.
The windshield cracks all the way up, and the front of the car is totaled. My seatbelt locked but I'm not in any immediate pain.
I hear the car turn off and look to see Mom take her seatbelt off.
"Hey, you okay?" She asks super worriedly. "Y- Yeah I think so." I say. "Are you in any pain?" She asks and I shake my head. I ask her the same and she's fine.
I put my mask on then the hood of my hoodie because I have a snap back on so I won't get rain in my face.
We get out of the car and see the driver of the truck already out.
"You hit me lady." He tells Mom. "I hit you? Dude you merged into us, I have it on camera." Mom says. We're literally standing in the pouring rain.
"Paige call your mother." Mom tells me so I do.
"Hey, I was driving past when I saw you hit the dividers, everything alright?" A familiar raspy voice says loudly as I hear feet hit the wet pavement over the loud rain and cars.
I look up to see Alex as Mom is in a small argument with the driver.

"Oh, uh hey, and no this guy merged into us." I say and point behind me since I'm standing beside our car.
"Oh Paige. You're not hurt though right? Or your Mom?" She asks me worriedly and I shake my head. Alex walks over to Mom and the guy as I call Mama.
"Hey Paigey." She says. "Hi uh, well I don't really know what to say.... Mom and I were in a tiny accident." I say. "WHAT?! Are you both okay?!" "Yes, yes we're fine." I say. "Thank god. Tell me where you are and I'll be there in a little bit." I then tell her where we are and she hangs up.
I see Alex on the phone with someone as Mom is still arguing with the guy. I honestly think he's a little intoxicated, which would make sense.
Also we didn't have anything that could ruin in the car so that's good. I just happened to think about this.
I see Mom motion with her hand to Alex to me.
I'm sitting on the divider on the left side of the car so I'm not close to the freeway.
Alex walks over and sits next to me as she takes her phone away from her ear and puts it away.
"Cops are on their way for an incident report." She says and I nod.
This rain is low key cold though.
Mama called again saying she'd be here soon but traffic's kinda bad which we know.
Soon the police show up, and an ambulance which I guess is normal protocol.
"Officer Baker." I say to the officer who's helped me out quite a bit. "Hey Paige, been a while." She says. She's one of the like four cops that showed up.
"Yeah." I say. She asks me some questions about if I'm okay and all and asked me my witnessing story while Mom and the other dude talked to other cops. Alex left because she had to go to a photoshoot and she knew we were fine.
Officer Baker let's me sit in the trunk of her cruiser which is an SUV while wrapped in a blanket because I'm soaked and cold.
"Where's Paige?" I hear a voice ask and I know it's Mama's.
"Over there." I hear Mom say.
Mama soon appears in front of me.
"Hi babygirl." She says and I smile. We share a hug because she was scared and not gonna lie I was too a little bit.
We got everything straightened out here after a few hours then we're able to go home.
It was the guys fault and he was actually driving under the influence so he was charged for that.
He'll also be paying a hellacious bull from our insurance apparently so that's kinda cool.
Dumbass.

Condemned
“The human body is a fragile thing. But the soul... The soul is malleable. Easily tainted. All it takes is one drop of blood to dye it all red.” Long ago, in a time remembered only by a few, the seven lords of Syvernia, led by the Great Hero Ludwig, ended the Great Calamity that plagued humanity for as long as time itself. It was the dawn of a new age of man. . . until the thirst for more poisoned the new lords. Slowly, the thread that held humanity together loosened and a thick haze consumed the lands between. Mysterious vanishings, supernatural forces, and silence warns of a looming threat inside the coat of fog. Though the struggle of the realms did not interest Leor, for he was condemned as a Purblight, until he took a seemingly simple job: escort Alden to Lightendale and collect the handsome reward, a reward that would let him live the rest of his life with ease. But it’s never that simple, especially for someone who denounced the Gods. All his life, death followed Leor everywhere he went, cutting down his friends and family. When his first love died at the hands of an agent of light, he was prepared to throw everything away until a mysterious voice promised him a chance for retribution and a chance to bring her back by completing the seven trials. Thrown into the realm's struggle against the approaching haze and themselves, will Leor, a Purblight and an acquaintance of tragedy, use the very power he disdains to accomplish his goals? This is the rewrite of my novel: Condemned; I changed it to past tense and added/ took out some ideas from the original. This is essentially the first draft since I'm writing as I go. Also, there might be or might not be Gore, Sexual, or Traumatizing content. I only put it there for a disclaimer in case I want to add it. I have no set release schedule yet, but I'll try to post once every 2 week. Thanks for your patience.
