《A Devil's Angel (Black Hat x Reader)》15- Last Day of Freedom

You walked back to your room. While walking to the dining room, you had payed close attention to the directions back to your room. Flug had offered to help guide you back, but you declined the offer.

You walked quietly down the halls, climbed up the stairs to the second floor, and went through what you guessed was your door. You looked around the room and noticed the bed and decor. It was your room. You silently celebrated your success.

Dinner was a little awkward, but it could have been worse. Everyone was feeling awkward. Well, everyone except Demencia that is. She ate noisily and talked with her mouth full. And I mean FULL. Flug would occasionally talk, either to tell Demencia to stop talking with her mouth full, to which she usually respond with cramming more food into her mouth and screamed, or casually talking with Demencia. Black Hat was silent the whole time. You never met his eyes, but you could tell he was staring at you. And not in a good way. 5.0.5 would make occasional sounds of agreement and pleasure at the ongoing conversations. You personally didn't listen to their conversations. You felt awkward there. However, you could tell Flug noticed how you felt and knew to keep the center of attention away from you. You mentally thanked him for that.

You sat on your bed and grabbed your phone to check the time. It was 7. A part of you wanted to plop under the blankets and scroll on your phone, but you thought you might as well be productive. You plugged in your phone and opened up a box.

You grabbed a photo that was lying on top. "Huh," you said, looking at it. "I guess I never got to unpacking this one back at the house." You looked at the photo closely. It was you and your mom.

The photo had been tooken about 2 or 3 years ago. It was you taking a selfie of you and your mom together. Mom laid on the hospital bed, smiling happily at the camera. You smiled at the photo, remembering the happy memories of showing up to the hospital and having fun with her, playing small board games, laughing, joking. The memories were so nice you couldn't help but giggle.

You took the photo and put it on the night stand right next to the one of your parents holding the small, little infant in their arms. You smiled at the photos for a few seconds until you were satisfied.

You walked back to the box and noticed something. There was a small, golden necklace that was hidden under the photo. There was a pretty, shiny diamond in the center of a heart. You smiled at it. It was very pretty and looked really nice. Whether it was made of real gold or an actual diamond, you didn't know, but you still loved it anyway. You put it around your neck, walking over to a full-length mirror. It shined in the reflected light bouncing off of the mirror. You smiled at the reflection and walked back to the box, pulling out more important stuff, not just knick knacks.

You got your drawing tablet, which you hadn't had time to set up at the house. You started to get excited about the thought of doodling in your free time. You set it on the bed, heading over to the table that used to be in your bedroom. You struggled to push it over to a certain corner in the room. You thought for a bit. You wanted to make the room look nice and at the same time, be comfortable. After a minute of thinking of the layout of the room and its contents, you decided where you would put everything.

(This is what you want the layout of the room to look like. Sorry for bad drawing, i'm not good at drawing rooms and backgrounds and such ;w;)

The bed was currently in the middle of the room. You looked at it, already giving up on trying to move it. You stared at it, trying to use the force. It didn't work.

Suddenly, a certain big, fluffy blue bear poked through the door. You smiled at him.

"Hi 5.0.5!" You said, waving with excitement. 5.0.5 was the fun one in the house. Well, the fun one that didn't destroy an entire room in a millisecond. He smiled at you warmly and walked over to you, giving you a warm hug.

"You come up here to check on me?" You asked, petting his soft fur. He gave a soft noise as to say yes. Suddenly, an idea popped into mind.

"Hey, 5.0.5!" You said, letting him go and looking at him excitedly. He gave you his full attention. "Do you think you could help me move this bed to the side?" You asked, feeling a little bad asking him to help. He gave you an "Aroo" and got to the side of the bed, pushing it to the wall. He then noticed the table, seeming out of place. He pointed at it, asking if you need to move that too.

"Oh, that. I want to move it over here like this," you said, using your hands to show him how you wanted it. He carefully picked up the table and perfectly moved it to where you wanted it.

"Aww you didn't have to do that," you said, giving him a warm smile. He just gave another "Aroo" and smiled back. With his job done, he waved excitedly at you and left, smiling. You couldn't help but smile at his cuteness. You asked yourself how someone as adorable as him somehow ended up working for someone like Black Hat.

Since the bed and table were now in place, you grabbed the drawing tablet and all the cords that it needed and hooked it up to the wall. You turned it on and it powered on. You smiled and your success and turned it back off. You looked back in the box. Now you only had the one labeled "closet" left. You opened it to see your stuffed animals, your bunny on top. You put them in the corner of the closet, just like you did before in the house.

You turned back and started to hang up all the clothes over by one. It was a slow and boring process, but after about half an hour, you finally got all the clothes in the hangers and in the closet. You yawned. It was still somewhat early for bed, but you didn't care. You turned off the light, jumped on the bed, quite literally, curled up on your bed, and closed your eyes.

Problem was, your body was tired, but your eyes weren't. You sighed and picked up your phone. You grabbed a pair of earbuds you left next to your phone and plugged them in. You sat on the bed, watching YouTube videos until your eyes finally gave out. You turned off the phone and placed it on the counter. You curled up in the heavenly blanket and closed your tired eyes, glad the day was finally over.

Suddenly, you opened your eyes. You were in a field. It was tall green grass, blowing in the wind as far as the eye could see. Yellow flowers were spread across the field, waving in the wind. You were on a hill, sitting under a tree. All you could do was stare out at the field, feeling the breeze, mesmerized by the patterns the wind was making in the grass. You smiled. You didn't want to look away. Even under the shade, you were nice and warm. You closed your eyes, listening to the wind. The leaves rustle. The grass blades softly brushing. A butterfly gently fluttered towards you. You held out your hand and it gracefully landed, showing off its wings. Suddenly, the butterfly seemed to scream at the top of its lungs, sounding like some sort of fire alarm. Caught by surprise, you lost your balance, falling to the side and tumbled all the way down the hill and fell upside down head first.

Just before you hit your head, you jolted out of bed, listening to the alarm on your phone, blaring, declaring that a new day has come. 'Well,' you thought mentally. 'That explains the screaming butterfly...'. You turned off the alarm and got out of bed and looked down at yourself. You realised something. You groaned as you realized you never changed into your pajamas.

You grabbed a new shirt and changed into it, not bothering to change anything else. You went into the bathroom and grabbed your hairbrush, and tried to control your birds nest. After a few minutes, it was nice and smooth. You then did your morning routine and put on a coat, unplugging your phone and placing it in one of the pockets.

You heard a knock on the door. You opened it up to see Flug standing there. "Breakfast is ready. Afterwards, B-black Hat would like to see you in his o-office to discuss what you will be doing." He said, a little anxious. Most likely because he probably had just finished talking to Black Hat.

You gave him a smile and thanked him, walking down the hallway with him. He started sweating a little on top of the paper bag, clearly nervous.

"C-can I a-ask you something?"

"Of course."

He was silent for a second.

"...W-why did you t-take the job?"

You looked at him, a little suprised at the question. You then looked back at the floor, questioning yourself.

"I-I'm sorry. I-i know it's p-probably p-personal, " he said, looking embarrassed.

"N-no! I just want expecting that." You said, trying to reassure him. You kept thinking, but you couldn't find an answer.

"I don't know..."

He looked at you, shocked that you wanted to answer him.

"I guess it was because it seemed better than a boring life doing the same thing every day."

Flug seemed to understand every word of what you meant.

You were starting to get close to the dining room doors.

"Are you sure there wasn't any other reasons?" He said. You couldn't tell, but he was blushing a little, secretly hoping you had come because of him.

"Not that I can think of." You said, smiling, unaware of his loss.

He pulled open the door for you and you walked in, taking the same seat you had tooken the day before. Everyone else was already there, sitting and waiting, except 5.0.5 who was making something. You silently sniffed the air to get a whiff of what he was making.

Pancakes.

You placed your hand over your lips, making it look like you were resting your chin, but underneath, you were smiling a little. You couldn't remember the last time you had pancakes, let alone homemade ones. Flug took his seat and 5.0.5 waddled down with a tray. He stopped at each person and placed down a plate, 2 pancakes each. Flug's eyes... er.... goggles.. lit up. Demencia saw the pancakes and got excited. So excited that she jumped out of her seat, climbed into the table and screamed "PANCAKES!?!"

This caused Black Hat to stand up out of his chair, slamming his hands hard on the table, scaring everyone except Demencia, who was still smiling. ""

"Whatever you say, Blacky~" she said, looking at him dreamily. She slid off the table and into her seat, staring excitedly at the blue bear coming towards her, plate in hand. As soon as he placed it down, Demencia scarfed it down in two seconds flat and sped out of the room at lightning speed, saying, "Thanksokbye!!"

Everyone stared at the door for a few seconds, trying to process what happened. After a few seconds, 5.0.5, still in a small state of shock, walked over to you and placed down your plate. He then walked over to his chair, set down a plate, put away the tray, and sat down, picking up a fork.

You all finished relatively quickly. You noticed Black Hat had finished. He was looking at you, his expression asking if you were ready. You nodded and you both got up, leaving for his office. Of course, once you got out of the doors, you followed him. You didn't know where exactly his office was.

You climbed up the stairs to the third floor. There was a long, wide, hallway. It had paintings of Black Hat, all of them set in different places doing different things. All of them, however, were very threatening and menacing. However, it seemed less menacing when you realized that it was just his way of showing off his accomplishments.

Psh. Show off.

You made your way to the door. Black Hat took the doorknob and opened the door, letting you in first. You walked through the door and looked around.

The first thing you saw was his desk. A gold nameplate lay on top labeled "Black Hat". A red skull lay on his desk, right next to a bottle of ink, with a white, soft quill. Behind the desk was a tall black and red chair, its shadow stretching across the room. Behind the chair was a red window, decorated with red curtains hanging to the side. The wall was a dark grey with tiny top hats. A bookshelf was on one side of the wall, most of the books being on really dark and twisted subjects, the rest being peculiar, each in their own way. One had an eye with a yellow iris, starting at you. You quickly averted your gaze elsewhere.

Black Hat walked past you and sat in his chair. He beckoned you to sit down in the seat in front of the desk. You did so.

"It has come to my attention that you have finished unpacking?" He said, practically staring into your soul.

"Yes, sir... Wait, how did you kn-"

"Excellent. Here's a schedule of what we do at what time. If you are late to breakfast, lunch, or dinner, we will assume you are not coming and not prepare you anything." He handed you a paper, showing a schedule of daily things. "Your main priority is security. Occasionally check on the others to make sure their doing alright. Don't bother checking on me. However, as a part of your job, you will accompany me on my walks if asked. I'm going on one now and I would like you to accompany me."

Before you could respond, he got up and walked towards the door.

"W-wait. What exactly is my job here?" You asked, a little overwhelmed already.

"You're our bodygaurd."
