Taehyung sat up slowly, suddenly alarmed when the doorknob began to turn slowly. Jungkook's hoodie was slipping off his shoulder, allowing his collarbones to peak through the top.
He wiped his tears with his sweater paws, trying to appear decent. Although his bloodshot eyes were a dead giveaway that he was not okay.
He calmed down lightly when he saw his mothers warm smile staring down at him. She looked at him sympathetically as she sighed softly.
She carried a plate with food in her hands as she approached him by the bed.
"I brought you some food sweetheart." She set down the tray on the nightstand.
Taehyung sniffled lightly as his mother gently brought his shaking form into her arms. He immediately latched onto her like a baby.
"Oh baby... Your father told me what happened." She whispered, softly running her hands through his hair.
"He's not a bad person." He sniffled, pressing himself further into his mother's warm embrace.
He wished his father would understand that the other side of town had some good people. They weren't all bad and manipulative like he always claimed.
They were hardworking people, who worked to earn their money, not low-lives and street rats.
Jungkook helped him understand that.
His mothers sweet scent helped calm him down as his tears turned into hiccups.
"I believe you baby," she whispered.
"And I know your father can be really hard on you sometimes, but he just wants what's best for you." She reassured, rubbing his back soothingly.
She stayed with him for a while, whispering sweet words into his ear and slowly feeding him the food.

The pastor had finally allowed Taehyung to leave his room but still ordered him to stay inside the house.
Taehyung nodded his head quickly, grateful that his father was allowing him to leave the confinement of his four walls.

He was on his way to the bathroom when he heard his father's voice coming from the back door.
It was slightly open, allowing Taehyung to hear what his father had to say.
He tip toed closer to the door, trying to make sense of what he was hearing. His eyebrows furrowed at his father's words.
"Perhaps you can visit in a month or two, that would be fine."
Taehyung's eyes widened when he saw his father about to turn around, tip toeing furiously down the hall.
His heart was beating rapidly as he entered the bathroom, trying to figure out who was going to be visiting soon.

Taehyung's father still refused to allow him to leave the house the following day. And of course the poor boy could not go against his father.
So he sat in the living room, watching the television. He was flipping through the channels when something caught his eye.
It was a news reporter, a lovely blonde woman with a rainbow shirt. She held the microphone tightly in her grasp as a smile adorned her face.
"Here in the city of Los Angeles we can see the people filling up the streets for the Gay Pride parade taking place today! As we know June is the official Pride month! Look, they've even given me a flag of my own for today. Mark, I've truly never seen anything like it!"
Taehyung watched curiously as a huge crowd of people walked behind the reporter, rainbow colors basically everywhere on their clothes.
Huge rainbow flags were held tightly in their grasp as bright colors of makeup covered their faces. They seemed to be having an amazing time as they continued down the street.
There was music playing in the background as people chanted the words "Gay Rights!" Over and over again like a mantra.

Taehyung's eyes widened and his cheeks burned furiously as he watched the camera pan over to two teenage boys kissing passionately.
"I can't believe the audacity of those sinners! Parading around the streets like they are proud of their sins. Such fools!" His father spat, disgust evident in his tone.
Taehyung watched with confused eyes as his father got up from the couch to turn off the television.
He angrily walked out of the room, mumbling about how the big cities were making a mistake by tolerating those 'fags'.
Meanwhile his son sat in silence, eyes cast down.
