The church was about to have its annual charity event, something Taehyung was highly looking forward to.
They usually placed food stands around the church and games for the children. It was almost like a block party in a way.
And of course, all the money was for a great cause.
Or so the town thought.
Taehyung had been busy running back and forth through town, making sure everything was to be perfect for the following day.
It was currently Saturday and his father had him managing the entire event, making him stressed beyond belief.
At the moment he walking with Jimin around town, trying to find those little tricycles that were used for relay races.
They had been through most shops without any luck, making Taehyung slightly nervous that they wouldn't find anything.
"This is the third shop we've been to without any luck." Taehyung frowned lightly.
"I think I know a place where we can find some..." Jimin trailed off from beside him.
"Really, where?" Taehyung asked.
"Uh- come on, I'll show you."
And that's how Jimin began leading Taehyung towards the opposite side of town.
It became clear that it was not the most safe part of town when they passed by a few men laughing loudly by the sidewalk, beer in their hands and voices slurred.
Taehyung felt shivers run up his spine when one of them stared at him dead in the eye before glancing down at his body.
Taehyung glanced at Jimin, who seemed practically unfazed by the lustful stares the men were giving them.
"Jimin? Are you sure we are going the right way?" Taehyung looked around at the row of small, dirty houses with dry brown grass.
"Yeah."
"Father will be so upset if he finds me here." Taehyung mumbled under his breath, but Jimin managed to hear him.
"We can go back if you want, but we most likely won't find anything." Jimin explained, glancing back at Taehyung who looked conflicted.

"... Are we close?" Taehyung asked, making Jimin smile lightly before nodding.
"Yeah it's right around this corner."

When they finally made it to their destination, Taehyung realized that it was a rundown tire shop.
He looked at his surroundings with mild curiosity, having never wandered that far from home.
"Come on, don't get lost." Jimin gently grabbed onto Taehyung's arm, leading him inside the shop.
He could hear the sound of metal clanking against one another, typical things you would hear at such places.
There were a few cars parked around, looking in desperate need of a car wash.
"Yoongi." Jimin called out, before the sound of metal suddenly stopped.
Taehyung waited patiently until a figure rolled out from under one of the cars, dressed in a mechanic's uniform.
It was the same boy Jimin had been speaking to that day at the bakery.
His hair was still the same silver color, his pale skin mostly covered in grease and oil from working.
He first looked at Jimin and then slowly turned to Taehyung, his face void of any emotion.
"What are you doing here." He demanded, not bothering to greet them.
Taehyung was mostly curious to know how Jimin knew this boy.
"Taehyung, this is Yoongi. Yoongi, this is Taehyung." Jimin introduced them, completely ignoring the boy's initial question.
"Nice to meet you." Taehyung smiled shyly at the pale boy who didn't even bother to look at him, eyes focused solemnly on Jimin.
"Why are you here." He repeated, making Taehyung slightly afraid that he would become angry.
Perhaps it had not been a good idea to go that far into the other side of town. They were known for not being the nicest.
"We need some tricycles for the charity event tomorrow and I remembered you kept a few in the back." Jimin explained calmly.
"I sold them." He deadpanned.
"Please." Jimin pleaded, already knowing that the latter was lying.

"No."
"Hyung, please." Jimin pouted, making Taehyung look back and forth between them awkwardly.
"... Fine." He scowled, before Jimin smiled brightly.
"Thank you, thank you!" He exclaimed, practically dragging Taehyung towards the back.
"Look, these will do just fine." Jimin showed Taehyung the three tricycles covered in dirt and oil.
"Uh, yeah. They work." Taehyung smiled, figuring it was no big deal when he had water and soap at home.
"Let me ask hyung if he can give us a ride into town." Jimin didn't wait for an answer before disappearing.
Taehyung hummed to himself quietly as he waited for Jimin to return for him.
He could hear Jimin's muffled voice mixed in with Yoongi's before he heard a third voice.
He couldn't help but feel like it sounded oddly familiar, but nonetheless he shrugged it off.
When Jimin finally returned moments later, he wasn't alone.
"Yoongi hyung is busy so Jungkook is taking us." Jimin motioned towards the boy who stepped in after him, making Taehyung's breath catch in his throat.
"Jungkook, this is Taehyung." Jimin's voice sounded extremely distant as Taehyung and Jungkook stared intensely at one another.
It was Taehyung who looked away first, glancing at the floor shyly.
"Oh, I know who he is." Jungkook smirked.
"You do?" Jimin asked confused.
"He's always smoking outside of the church." Taehyung frowned.
"He's Chanyeol's catechist." Jungkook snickered.
"Alright... Anyways, how about we load these into the truck." Jimin suggested, watching Jungkook and Taehyung with knowing eyes.
Jimin grabbed one tricycle and began walking towards the front where the truck was.
Jungkook proceeded to grab another one, leaving Taehyung reaching out for the last one.
In a flash, Jungkook grabbed the tricycle from his delicate hands, making Taehyung glance up at him confused.
That was until he caught sight of Jungkook's sly smirk, making his cheeks flush red.
He huffed softly before trailing behind Jungkook empty handed.
"Alright I'm going to go thank Yoongi and tell him we are leaving." Jimin called out as soon as they finished loading.
Jungkook snorted from beside him as Taehyung only nodded at his friend.
An awkward silence followed before Jungkook spoke, "I've got to admit, I was shocked to see you here."
Taehyung quickly glanced to his side, where he found Jungkook already staring down at him.
"Why's that?" He asked softly.
"This place isn't exactly a walk in the park." Jungkook replied, voice laced with sarcasm.
"I don't mind it." Taehyung's brows furrowed lightly, as jungkook's eyes pierced into his.
"You don't?" He asked, almost surprised by his answer.
"I mean I know it's not the safest place but it's not filled with bad people like the other side of town thinks. I know your mother who's extremely kind and generous. I know Chanyeol, who's a very bright kid... And I know you."
"What about me?" Jungkook pressed on, eyes searching Taehyung's.
And suddenly he was aware of the way Jungkook's body seemed closer to his. Somewhere between his speech, he had shifted closer.
Taehyung felt his hands begin to shake as a weird feeling bubbled up in his stomach. He felt a small line of sweat form around his forehead.
"I-," he began before he was cut off.
"Alright are you guys ready?" Jimin spoke from behind him.
Taehyung was too lost in thought to ask his friend why his lips suddenly looked extremely red and why he appeared to be out of breath.
Instead, he let Jimin climb into the passenger seat as he settled down in the back.
He could hear Jimin talking with Jungkook, but he couldn't focus on the conversation.
Instead he looked at his lap, and thought.
He could feel Jungkook staring at him through the rear-view mirror the entire car ride home.
