As a person looking from the outside, one might assume that the way the pastor acted during Mass was exactly how he acted in his home.

Unfortunately, that was not the case.

In his household, he told the rules and the rest just followed.

And that was how Taehyung ended up at the dinner table, listening to his father rant about the number of sinners coming forward for Lent.

Lent, was a time of reconciliation with God. During that time, every Catholic was invited to the church for Confession and Penance.

It was a time for everyone whom needed a release from their sinful actions.

And of course, their usual custom, no meat on Fridays!

Although the pastor had taken it a step further for his family, no meat every day until Lent was officially over.

"The lines are just ridiculous and this heat is unbearable. Taehyung next week's donations are for air conditioners!" He father complained.

"Yes father." Taehyung mumbled as he silently at his food.

"And don't forget to come to the Confession room this Sunday. I know you have been busy but you must do it before the time starts." The pastor reminded him.

"Yes father." The small boy replied.

-

"Taehyung, could you please run to the bakery? We don't have any bread for tomorrow morning." He mother frowned as she huffed.

"Of course, mother!" Taehyung smiled as he realized he would be able to see Jimin.

His mother ran the bakery along with her husband and Jimin.

The small boy quickly ran to put on a coat, seeing as it was starting to get dark out.

"Be careful! And hurry back, don't stay chit chatting!" She called out as Taehyung walked out the door.

The bakery wasn't far from his house, about a fifteen minute walk. Taehyung hummed a random tune as he made his way around town.

Many greeted the golden boy with bright smiles. He bowed to the elderly women who called his name with such delight.

The bell above his head rang as he opened the door to the bakery. The delicious smell of freshly made bread filled his nostrils as he looked around the store.

He noticed that the bakery was empty, seeing as the sun was starting to disappear from the sky.

The only two people besides Taehyung were Jimin, who was at the register and another boy whom he was talking to.

The boy had extremely pale skin, a bit on the thin side as he sported silver hair.

Jimin was leaning against the counter, his chin resting against his small fists.

He had been busy laughing at something the other boy had said, that he failed to notice that they weren't alone.

"Jimin!" Taehyung smiled as he went over to grab a tray for the bread.

"O-Oh! Tae! Didn't see you come in." Jimin seemed slightly alarmed as he and his friend turned to look at Taehyung.

"Came to get bread for the week!" He smiled with his teeth.

The other male met Taehyung's curious gaze before glaring at him and turning to Jimin, whispering something to him.

Taehyung frowned lightly at his attitude, having no idea what he had done wrong.

Jimin only nodded before the pale boy wordlessly exited the bakery, leaving Taehyung alone with Jimin.

"Did you want banana bread? We have a ton left over in the back!" Jimin smiled brightly at Taehyung who shyly nodded his head.

"This thing is so freaking old!" Taehyung giggled lightly as Jimin struggled to open the register.

"I should get going." Taehyung smiled at his friend before exiting the bakery, noting that it was most definitely dark outside.

Nonetheless he smiled, realizing that he had nothing to fear. He knew everyone in town and despite his mother's warnings, there was no real danger.

Or so he thought.

The streets appeared vacant as he walked the lonely road, the brown paper bag clutched tightly in his hands.

He was only a few streets down from his house before someone spoke from the shadows, scaring the poor boy half to death.

"Well, well, well. Would you look at who it is? Church boy."

The male came out from the dark alley, the light post illuminating his face.

Taehyung had never seen the male before in his life, making him gulp lightly when he noticed the evil glint in his eyes, and the cigarette hanging from his lips.

His fiery, red hair only added to Taehyung's fear of the stranger who only seemed to get closer to him.

Taehyung wanted to cry.
