《Endangered》7.) Learning to Forgive

Dorian sat down pushing his hair back with frustration. He had the doctor and Marcus in the room with him as he contemplated what to do next.
"I hear you're keeping Flora from seeing Lillian. Any good reason for that?"
"Her safety."
"It's also a mother worried about her little girl."
Dorian sighed. "I just don't know what to do. She needs to know what she did has consequences."
"She knows that already. She's six. She was mad and hurt her mother. Now all she's felt since is feeling neglected by her parents instead of actually communicating to her. Tell her and show her the right way. They all need to be trained. You're the first of us to have kids so we didn't know what they'd be capable of. But now we do. We'll help you get through this."
"Do you have any idea how my daughter could do this?" Dorian asked the doctor as he stood by idly, hearing their discussion.
"Well considering all your children are young and part lycan. It could be that their hormones are heightened meaning that your kids are going throw tantrums although it would affect them more than any normal human child. And the force she threw the rock was a part of her tantrum that caused her to use her lycan strength. In time they'll learn how to control it but until then... don't make them angry." He said patting my shoulder.
"I can't just tip-toe around my own children."
"Well, you're having more children. Best you learn how to deal with it soon."
"From the way things are going. I'm kind of hoping for more boys."
"What's wrong with girls?" Flora asked walking in with an eyebrow raised.
"Well, you know everything going on with Lillian right now, it kind of makes me want boys."
"More boys to break everything in the house." Flora smiled stopping in front of Dorian. "I love our children. Boy or girl, I'll be happy with either one."
"What bothers me is that you could've died had it not been for you being pregnant. It's not just Lillian I'm worried about, it's the boys too. What if they ever get mad at you and hurt you?"

"We teach them. You more specifically. Even though I think they're too young, I think it's time for you to train them so no mishaps happen again."
"I suppose I can."
"I have a question, doc." The doctor nodded his head. "How is it that Flora got pregnant so soon?"
"I've been thinking that over as well. I was thinking that maybe both Flora's body has grown accustomed to yours meaning that it's easier and faster to impregnate her."
Dorian and Flora both looked at each other. "Well, that's...something new."
"You need to talk to her Dorian."
"What am I supposed to say?"
"Don't rehearse what you're going to say. Just be her father." Flora kissed his forehead and wrapped her arms around him. "Try to be quick. I want to see my baby girl." Dorian smiled wishing he had Flora's gentle touch when it came to dealing with their kids.
Dorian knocked on Lillian's door. He walked in seeing her playing with one of her dolls while sitting on her bed. "Your mom asked for you." He continued to look at her while Lillian slightly shrugged her shoulders. "Why don't you go talk to her? She misses you."
She kept looking down at her doll until Dorian stopped her movements with his hand. Her bottom lip quivered and her eyes started to water. "Everybody hates me."
"Nobody hates you."
"Nolan and Nial are ignoring me and you didn't want me." Dorian tried to hug her but she kept trying to push him away. She tried avoiding him until Dorian wrapped his arms around her. It was then where she wrapped her arms around her dad crying onto his shoulder.
After a couple of minutes of soothing back rubs and a soaked shirt full of tears, Dorian held Lillian at arm's length.
"Alright, pull yourself together. You gotta be my strong girl."
Lillian nodded her head while wiping away her tears although her eyes were still red. "Can I see mommy now?"
"Of course you can lilypad." Dorian kissed Lillian's forehead feeling much better after their little talk. Lillian scrambled out of her bed. Dorian followed her silently behind watching as Lillian knocked before entering their room.

Flora put down her book opening up her arms to Lillian who ran into her mother's arms bawling her eyes out once more. "I'm sorry. I love you, mommy, only you."
"Hey, what about me?" Dorian said trying to lighten the mood. Both girls chuckled as they continued to hold each other. Flora hummed as she brushed Lillian's tangled hair back whispering soft comforting words to her.
That night Lillian slept in the bed with Dorian and Flora. Although in the morning Dorian along with Marcus, Magnus, Axel, and Roman waited outside calling out the three young lycans.
Nolan and Nial stood by each other while leaving a gap between themselves and Lillian. She stood there rubbing her arms feeling exposed without her brothers next to her.
"After the incident that has occurred, I've decided that it's time to train all three of you. It won't be just physical but also about our emotions and mental state. Your uncles and I have had an urgency to act on instinct but over the years we've learned to control ourselves. That's what we'll be teaching you."
"Can Tilda train Lillian?" Nolan spoke up.
"No. She won't."
"Why not?"
"Nolan stop. We're not going to discuss this."
"She said she wished Tilda was her mother. She almost killed mom!" Nolan growled out.
"I know you're angry, that's why we're going to teach you to control it."
"I don't want to control it. I want her to hurt just like mom did." Nolan turned to his side to face Lillian who couldn't meet his glare. He was about to march towards her but Nial pushed him back. Both boys started to push each other not listening to the adults around them.
Dorian separated the two. "Stop it! Both of you!"
Nolan pulled himself away. "I'm not training."
Lillian put a hand on Nial's shoulder but he moved away from her touch. Dorian dragged his hands over his face seeing that all his children were mad at each other and he had no idea what to do.
"Train them. Be their leader." Marcus said to Dorian.
Dorian took a deep breath. "Do it," he said nodding to the others. They all shifted on command. Dorian took off his shirt and threw it off to the side. He prepared for the pain his brothers were going to inflict upon him.
It would be a gruesome scene but it was necessary. All four lycans surrounded Dorian and all started clawing at his skin. Lillian and Nial looked on in horror as they saw their father a bloody mess on the floor.
After hearing the scream of his brother and sister, Nolan looked behind to see the gruesome sight. Just as they dug their claws in Dorian they backed away. All three kids ran to their father scared out of their minds.
Dorian spat blood on the floor and looked at his kids. "It's okay," he said holding his bloody hand up to calm them. The kids watched as their father's wounds started healing at a rapid pace. They watched in amazement. They had never seen their father or any of their uncles heal before nor endure as much pain as their father just did.
Blood still covered his entire body but no more open wounds. "The key is to ground yourself. Think of keeping your lycan in your mind instead of it taking over and manifesting. I always think of you guys and your mother to keep myself from changing."
The three of them all flung themselves at their dad. Dorian was surprised at their reactions and hugged them back.
"I'm sorry you had to see that but there was no other way I could make you understand without showing you in that way. Also, don't tell your mother what you just saw. She'd actually find a way to kill me." Dorian smiled at that last thought.
