We eventually got to the park, our clothes soaked through as our body's huddled together in the hope of finding some warmth.
Even though Taehyung had revealed himself to be broken only moments ago, he was already smiling again, playing lightly with my fingers.
A blanket was suddenly slung over our heads and I quickly yanked it off in surprise. The two boys from before were there, smiling brightly down at us. I felt grateful that they were there and grabbed the blanket back, wrapping it around mine and Taehyung shoulders.
I leaned my head against his shoulder and he cuddled into my side. I closed my eyes and breathed in Taehyung's scent. Someone started to kick my leg. I opened my eyes and saw Jin laughing as he made a pathetic attempt to stop Namjoon from kicking me.
I froze, staring at the boys in front of me, staring at Jin and Namjoon. It was beyond me how I had just suddenly thought of their names. I realised I could be wrong, but something about the names felt so familiar. I decided not to question it, as my sudden shocked state was starting to concern Taehyung.
He tapped my shoulder and I was immediately snapped out of my trance. I smiled at him before standing up and pulling him to his feet.
Jin grabbed the blanket off of the floor, while Namjoon grabbed my hand. I grabbed Taehyung's hand just before we all began running. I didn't know where we were going but I didn't care. Just running felt good, the wind hitting my face, my heart rate increasing, my hand being held tightly by Taehyung and not so tightly by Namjoon.
I wanted to laugh and yell out about my happiness, but I couldn't even open my mouth. I stopped running, scared of my discovery. I always couldn't speak, but I could always open my mouth. I used my hands to try and pry my lips apart. I was aware of how insane I must have looked but I was too freaked out to worry about the image I was giving off.

Taehyung pulled my hands away from my face and have me a questioning look. I shook my head, yanking my hands back. This time I clutched my heart as it was still beating fast, and it hurt.
I wanted to cry but refused to let any tears fall. My hands were shaking and my legs felt like they were seconds away from collapsing beneath me. Taehyung took my hand again, rubbing it to try and calm me down. Jin and Namjoon watched from afar, concern written all over their faces.
I started to count in my head, slowly breathing in and out through my nose. Taehyung leant forward and I couldn't help but notice how close our lips were from touching. I closed my eyes to try and block out my surroundings so I could focus on breathing.
I knew what was going to happen if I closed my eyes but I doubted my thoughts slightly, wondering why Taehyung would actually kiss me. But he did.
Our lips touch for only a short amount of time, but the moment I pulled back, I could open my mouth. I breathed in, and Taehyung smiled at me. I wanted to lean forward and kiss him again but I had no energy left, instead falling down to the floor.
Namjoon and Jin quickly ran forward but their faces were blurry and unclear. My eyesight was beginning to fade, making me panic over what was happening.
I grabbed Taehyung's hand just before I blacked out.

Paladin
When the first derelict alien spacecraft fell to Earth, humanity took what was found in it and propelled themselves to new heights. In their new Golden Age, humanity developed technology that they had only dreamed about. The following years saw hundreds more ships crash into the planet, spurring even greater technological leaps. An unassuming spacecraft, one of the dozens that fell yearly, descended on Siberia in 2021. The world took no particular notice of it. However, this one contained something beyond the miraculous technology that had made humans so prosperous. Three years later, in a top-secret underground facility in eastern Colorado, the automated construction of an army of Paladin Mobile Infantry Suits was underway. With this new, state-of-the-art weaponry, the military would turn the tide against the alien incursion that was consuming the planet. Humanity fell before that could happen. Sam was an engineer responsible for overseeing the facility. Now alone, he lives in utter boredom and near insanity, his only company the base’s pseudo AI and an army of empty Paladins. With the world gone to hell around him, and the things that caused it still living above, he decides that he is much better off staying exactly where he is. Unfortunately for him, that is no longer an option. This is the first novel I've written. The first fifteen or so chapters are going to be a little slower. I want there to be time to get to know the characters before they start blowing stuff up. Also, though the MC will be strong relative to the world, he won't be OP, and won't win every fight. Not every fight will be physical either. Currently, I'm aiming for something like 5 fairly short chapters a week, after the introduction part is done, but we'll see how that goes. Thanks for reading, and please let me know if I've made mistakes!

blacklight
So here’s the deal: my name is Kihri Vyas, and I’m dead. (That’s not really important, it happened ages ago, but it’s good to have the context.) Anyway, me and my sister Zarah (the only person who can see or hear me) have basically been on our own since I kicked the bucket, surviving on the streets of Kaila and sort of just being miserable and bored and tired a lot. I mean, I haven’t, cause I’m dead, but she has. It sucks, but that’s business as usual for us. What isn’t B-A-U is that a bunch of other homeless folks have been disappearing in the last few months, and some of them have been turning up with anatomically-improbable, but extraordinary fatal, injuries. Cops don’t give a shit, of course, and my sister’s a boneheaded bleeding heart, so we’ve been investigating them ourselves. And, well, we’ve found a bunch of weird shit. Stuff made of solid light, ghost attack dogs, people glowing black, somehow, some kind of living robot… Actually, you know what? It’s probably easier if you see for yourself. blacklight is a modern fantasy story it's not about being gay but rest assured its gay as fuck nevertheless it updates fridays at 2 p.m. AEST on its own site at https://spectrochroma.wordpress.com/ Chapters are uploaded here one week after they finish on the main site.
