«Aight, I'll call you later" I said

"Bye bye! Enjoy ur lasagna" Jisung shouted as I walked out the front door of his house

"wait!" He stopped me

I turned around

"Good luck with your parents and all" He added

I smiled, and put my hand up as if it was nothing.

"Thanks, but I'll be alright" I said

He smiled back and closed the door.

I wasn't that nervous. I mean, they're my parents. I wasn't scared of them or anything. As long as I had lasagna on my plate I was good. And even if we started arguing, there would be nothing to do about it.

I kind of wanted to give Hyunjin a call, but the walk home was only a couple minutes long. I guess it'd be better calling him later today.

I wanted to hear his voice over the phone. I wondered if he'd sound different, or if it'd hit the same.

I had been walking for just a minute when I got a message. I immediately assumed it was from either Hyunjin or my parents, but it wasn't. It was Kai.

I put my phone back down in my pocket and shook my head in disbelief as I walked up the porch to my house. I could smell the lasagna from there. Man, was i hungry.

I opened the door and heard my mom run up to me.

"Hello Felix!" She exclaimed, before giving me a big hug

I stood frozen during the hug, confused. I hadn't even gotten the chance to take my shoes off.

"Hi?" I replied

"How have you been?" She asked excitedly, holding my shoulders and smiling in my face

"Alright" I said, trying to add on a little smile

"That's great. You came just in time. The lasagna is hot and out the oven!" She said

"Cool"

I bent down to take my shoes off. Meanwhile, she went back to the kitchen.

She was also acting weirdly nice. It creeped me out a bit.

I started walking towards the kitchen. Dad was already sitting down. He gave me a huge smile as well.

"Had fun at Jisung's?" He asked

"Yeah" I nodded

I washed and dried my hands before sitting down next to him. Mom had placed the lasagna on the table. It was steaming hot. I wanted to dig in right away, but decided to wait until my mom had had sat down as well.

Both my parents were wearing nice clothes. Mom had a dress with flower patterns on, and dad was wearing a fancy button-up. Almost as if we were celebrating something. I wasn't expecting them to be this excited for me to come back.

"Let's dig in!" Dad said, cutting a slice out the piping hot food

He placed the slice on my plate. It surprised me a bit, cause he barely ever does that. Im used to getting my own food. I appreciated it tho, I guess.

The lasagna tasted even better than expected. It burnt the roof of my mouth, but it was worth it. This was so much better than the tasteless dinners I had eaten all month.

"It's great" I said

"Of course it is" my dad joked

I let out a half-suppressed laugh, and went back to eating.

We were all pretty quiet at first. Not that we talk lots during our dinners. It was just a bit more silent that usual.

"I heard from your father that you made some new friends" my mom said

"Yeah, I did" I responded

"What were their names again..." My dad pondered -"was it.. Hyunwoo and Kai?"

I shook my head

"Hyojin and Kai?" He thought

"Hyunjin" I corrected

"Ahh, That was it!" My dad laughed -"They seemed like nice people"

"They're cool" I said

I took another bite when my phone all of a sudden started buzzing. Multiple times in a row. Somebody was calling me.

I put my fork down and looked at my pocket.

"Sounds like someone's trying to get to you" my dad said

I got my phone out the pocket to see who it was.

"Hyunjin<3 is calling" it said

I hid the screen from my parents so that they wouldn't notice the heart.

"Who is it?" My mom asked

"Nobody" i said, before declining the call.

I felt a little bad declining it, as it was the first time he'd ever called me. But i was sure he would understand why I declined after telling him about the setting.

"Nobody?" My dad asked

"Well, it was Hyunjin" I replied -"the guy from the camp"

"That's not nobody is it?" My dad giggled.

"No" I laughed awkwardly

"Well why don't you take it?" Mom asked -"it's ok with me and your dad"

"I already declined" I explained

"You could call him up again" She suggested

"It's alright" I said

There was no way I could call Hyunjin in the middle of a family dinner. Just imagine if my parents were as nosy as Jeongin.

"Poor guy, just call him" Mom said again

"I'll call him back later" i concluded

"What if it was something important?" My dad added

"Why do you care?!" I belted

Both of them went quiet in surprise of my attitude. I went back to eating my dinner.

"Alright" my dad mumbled

He looked at my mom and lifted his brows. She just shrugged.

We barely talked after that. I ate up, and put my plate into the dishwasher. Gave them a quick thanks for the food and went up the stairs.

I'd just take a shower, and call Hyunjin.
