《THE LOOK OF A SILVER FOX✅》Part 24

"Shut up, bitch! For real?" Nina screamed and I had to back off my phone a bit to not become fucking deaf. "He works there?! What are the odds.."

"Yeah, I know. Crazy shit. I was so embarrassed, you have no idea" I sat down at the table right next to the window.

''I bet you were.'' - she laughed: ''But, like, he was still quite nice, don't you think?''

He was, I thought. I picked on the pancakes I just ordered. ''He was, though. But I'm quite confused about the fact that he kind of avoided to answer me how is he connected to the company. He said he works here but I have never seen him here before.''

''Well, the building is quite big, it's impossible to see everyone, anyway.''

''Yeah. Yeah, that's true.'' I looked at my pancakes with nutella filling and raspberry dressing - my favourites. ''Okay, I'm too hungry now for this conversation. I'm going to hung up.''

''Okay, bitch. Choke on those pancakes I know you're eating again. Bye'' I rolled my eyes and hung up. She knows me too well.

The next day the day was quite basic. I had a lot of work to do but I haven't seen Eric since he did not come to work that day. I was dissapointed but I was also still mad at him. Him accusing me of something I didn't do and something that could put us both at risk, bothered me a lot. I am not very sensitive type of person but injustice always hurt me to my core. Sentimentality aside, he still turned me on a lot. I forget everything he says once he touches me. It's like he put a spell on me.

I finished quite late, at around 7 p.m. I wasn't the last one working, though. I said bye to some of my co-workers as I exited the building. As I was walking out, I caught a glance of a familiar face. He was sitting on the bench in front of the building and smoked a cigarette. I stopped and observed him for a couple of seconds. He was wearing a white shirt that prefectly fit him. His elbows were resting on his knees and his gaze was locked on something in front of him. He looked like he was deep in his thoughts. Suddenly he turned and faced me. I kind of froze, knowing I was now staring at him. His lips formed a small half-smile. ''Hey.''

''Hey.'' I tried to sound not-so-awkward. I stepped closer to him. He motioned me to sit next to him. ''Emily, right?'' he puffed out the smoke in the opposite direction. I nodded: ''Nick, right?'' He nodded: ''Correct. You done for today?'' he smelled sooo fucking good. The mix of a cigarette and his cologne filled my nostrils. ''Yeah, finally. But I'm kind of happy I finished a lot today. What about you?'' He smiled: ''That's nice. Yeah, I'm also done for today.'' he chuckled.

''You didnt tell me what is that you do here.''

''I'm in the marketing. I deal with costumers and stuff.'' I laughed: ''Really? Interesting.''

He frowned his eyebrows: '' Why is that? You don't picture me hyperactively running around the costumers?''

''I don't, actually and I also think we have different opinions about what marketing looks like.'' We both laughed. His dimples popped out of his cheeks and I found it extremly attractive. I have always found dimples so attractive.

''Do you want to grab a drink?'' he asked. Why not? I was about to answer him but in that moment my phone started buzzing. ''Sorry'' I looked at my phone and Eric was calling me. His name on the screen sent shivers down my spine. I did not expect his call. ''Yes?''

''Hi baby. I'm waiting for you in the same room as the last time. Come.'' his raspy voice just did things to me. I looked at Nick, kind of sad I have to reject him. ''Hello? Are you coming?'' Eric was impatiently asking me. ''Uh, yeah. Yeah, I'll be there in 10minutes.'' ''Okay, baby. Hurry up.'' he hung up.

''Boyfriend, I guess?'' Nick asked and smiled as he stepped on the cigarette. ''No, not really.''

''Husband?''. I shook my head, laughing ''No, not at all. A friend.'' He put his hands in his pockets: ''Oh, okay. I guess you can't grab a drink now, can you?'' ''I'm sorry. Next time, maybe? If you want.''I playfully suggested. He scratched the back of his head, smiling. ''Next time it is. Take care.''- he winked and slowly walked away.
