《The Healer | ✔》24. Will He Let You Go?

Upon entering the suite, I was stilled. Money really rains mercilessly in Raichand household. Reyansh stumbled past me, touring himself throughout the large suite. I dragged our stuff to one corner and sighed tiredly as I took a glance around.

"Rey, go and clean yourself."

"Mommy, I'm hungry.", He mumbled swaying back and forth on his feet.

"I know. So go and clean yourself. I'll order something.", I said and heard him hum before he marched to the bathroom he must have discovered while adventuring around.

"Twenty seconds, Reyansh! You've to wash your hands for twenty seconds! Clean your nails, in-between of your fingers and don't forget your palms.", I instructed him loudly.

"Got it, Mom!", He yelled back.

"Rub your skin thoroughly and rinse-", He stood before me with the look of exasperation. "What!?", I asked raising my brows.

"You're so impossible sometimes!", He sighed shaking his head. I slapped his wet hands as they went to his shirt to wipe themselves dry.

"Towel!", I said handing him one.

"You don't have to slap me!", He chastised.

"You don't learn otherwise!", I replied snidely.

"You don't learn otherwise!", He mocked me.

I gasped at his disrespect and glared. "Where are your manners!?"

"Where are you manners!?", He copied my position, placing his hands on hips like me.

"Reyansh!", I warned.

"Reyansh!"

"Stop it before I make you."

"Stop it before I make you."

"You love to make me angry!"

"You love to make me angry!"

"Enough is enough, now!", I gritted out. "Go and sit down there. You're not allowed to get up until I tell you to. That's your punishment! And do not touch my phone!", I ordered him pointing at the couch that was sticked against the glass wall and noticed his eyes dropping in sadness before he sighed.

"Your wish is my command!", He glared at me dramatically before storming to the told place and sitting down with a bounce.

"Your wish is my command, Dove."

Shaking my head, I headed to bathroom to get myself clean. I don't need his thoughts driving me insane. Already this decision is itching me at the back of my head. I don't know if this is the right time to think about it, as the decision is already made and I'm already half way through it. Does it matter now? No.

So simply, I'll go with the wind. Let's see where it takes me. Because, for Reyansh, I'm ready to go through hell and nothing can stop me. This is just three years. Once the baby is two years old, we'll be able to do the operation with it's indirect consent and I'll fly back to London immediately after. And then, no Kabir which means, no problems.

I patted my face dry and came out. I saw Reyansh tracing a pattern on glass wall behind him and rolled my eyes. "You just washed your hands, Rey! Why would you touch other things. They may not be cleaned.", He ignored me and continued his small game which was definitely boring him because of the look on his face.

"Fine. Stay that way!", I huffed before grabbing my suitcase and throwing it on bed. Zipping it open, I grabbed a pair of comfortable joggers and an oversized t-shirt. After changing into them, I tied my hair in a bun before falling down on bed and scrolling through the games he had once downloaded.

The doorbell rang and I frowned.

However, Rey's face elated and he jumped down on his feet.

"You know who's outside?", I asked him.

"I called my Daddy to get me food as you obviously forgot about it.", He shrugged and I sat straight. His words pierced straight to my heart and I could feel my eyes brimming with tears.

Fuck! How could I forget!?

"I was just about to.", I lied pathetically.

"It's ironic coming from you who says not to lie as it is a sin.", He said throwing his hands dramatically in air. Who teaches him to talk like that!?

"I was not lying!", I gritted out to defend myself.

"Stop it, Mommy!", He said before turning the knob with both of his hands and walking out. Couple of seconds later, I heard the sound of main door opening and he welcomed his father with an excited squeal. Just two days ago he was saying he hates Kabir. And now look at him.

Was I jealous? Hell yes! Am I ashamed to admit that? No!

"Call your Mommy to have lunch.", I heard Kabir's voice, it was soothing and gentle. But at a point hoarse and strained.

"Okay!", I heard the loud thunder of footsteps heading towards bedroom. The door slightly opened and Reyansh peeked inside.

"Come on, Mommy. Daddy brought lunch for us.", He said looking down at floor as his feet shuffled awkwardly.

"I'm not hungry.", I said. I want him to catch my lie this time and force me. Let's see if he-

"Okay.", He mumbled before leaving. I sat dumbstruck.

Goodness! He's surely a very lovely and caring son! You hear the sarcasm!? That's a mother's heart screaming in agony.

Okay, that was exaggerated.

I huffed before falling backwards on bed and continuing my exploration through the apps. Half hour later, my stomach growled, demanding for food and I closed my eyes in irritation. I tried to ignore the signs, but the growling intensified. Groaning in annoyance, I slammed my phone on the soft surface of bed before storming towards the door but halting right before I was going to open it.

"It's fine. It's just food. Don't look at that little monster. Just ignore him. He'll come around on his own!", I said to myself before turning the knob and silently but quickly getting out.

Closing the door shut behind me quietly, I headed to living room but froze after hearing the sound of soft sniffles.

"Daddy, stop crying.", Reyansh said softly.

Kabir is crying!?

My mind reeled with assumptions as to why a man like Kabir will crying. I tip toed to the end of the hallway and peeped outside to have a look. Kabir was seated on couch, his elbows on his parted knees and his face hidden in his palms. His shoulders were shaking aggressively. I gulped the way he tried to control himself but couldn't and just continued sobbing.

"Daddy, I love you. I know you're sorry.", Reyansh murmured sadly as he tried to hug his father, but his little arms could only do so much.

Kabir gently laid his head sideways on Reyansh's shoulder and wiped his tears away with his fingers. "It is hard for me, champ. Not knowing what wrong I've done, I have to correct it. And I don't know how will I do this.", He mumbled sniffing in between.

"You'll do it, Daddy. I know you can. Don't give up. You hate to lose right?", Reyansh asked as his little fingers softly threaded through Kabir's dark raven hair.

What caused him to break down like this?

"Hmm. I do.", Kabir hummed back in agreement.

"Then it's done. It's me and you. We'll together work for Mommy's apology.", He said and Kabir sat straight. I can imagine him frowning.

"What did you do?"

"I was angry and I talked back at her.", Reyansh guiltily shrugged.

"That was wrong. She's your mum. When I was unable to full fill my duties as a father, she did both. You've to respect her.", Kabir said as he brushed some of Reyansh's strands back as they were blocking his eyesight. Remind me to cut his hair. They are growing too fast. I just had them cut last month.

"I know.", Reyansh mumbled looking down at his feet.

"Hey, bub.", Kabir flicked his nose and he looked up with a shy smile. "Stop feeling sad now. Go and call your Mommy. The food must be cold now. Should we order again?", He asked as he went to check the dishes.

"That'll be waste of food.", Reyansh said and I smiled proudly.

"Then we can ask them to reheat it.", Kabir suggested.

"That'll be waste of gas and electricity.", He said and I attempted to hide my chuckle of amusement.

"You sure talk like a responsible citizen!", Kabir said appreciatively as he looked back at Reyansh. My boy tipped his non existent cap as a gesture of accepting the token of appreciation.

"Go and call your Mommy. She must be hungry.", He said nodding in my direction. I immediately ran back to bedroom and sat down on bed, grabbing my cellphone and exploring through it. Pretending as if I didn't even step a foot out.

"Mommy?", I ignored him.

"Mommy, I'm sorry. I know I was rude."

At least he knows.

"Mommy, I'm hungry. And I won't eat unless you don't.", He said sitting down beside me. I sighed in defeat. Sneaky little emotional blackmailer.

Without even sparing him a glance, I strolled out of bedroom and enter living room. Grabbing myself a plate, that caused Kabir to step back cautiously from the trolley of food, I filled myself with lots of food and sat down on the couch. Picking up the remote from table before me, I turned television on and began eating while surfing through various channels.

I could see the father and son communicating through eyes from my amazing discreet eyesight. I just pretended as if they don't exist.

After I was done with my lunch, I kept the plate back in the middle division of trolley before drinking a glass of water. I headed back to my room and fished out Reyansh's medicines for afternoon.

"Have them after you're done eating.", I said placing them on the table and striding back to bedroom.

There was a knock that stopped me from admiring the view outside. It started snowing fifteen minutes ago.

"Come in."

"Mommy?"

I looked back at the window and hummed. He sighed loudly.

"It's snowing outside. Can I go and play with Daddy?", He asked and I contemplated. I don't want to snatch his right to have a normal childhood and stop him from doing what most of the kids of his age do. But he can't tire himself either.

"Fine. But please don't exhaust yourself.", I said as I folded my elbow on the crest rail of couch and placed my chin on it.

"Your wish is my command!", He squealed and I rolled my eyes.

"And stop saying that!", I yelled as he was already running out.

"Okay!", I heard him shout back.

My phone rang asking my attention. I made a tch sound after seeing the caller ID. Ma is gonna blow up on me for not calling her.

"Yes, Ma?", I asked sheepishly.

"World is moving so fast. You've a hand size mobile for 24 hours with you, yet you forget to call your parents. Obviously you'll forget! We don't matter now, do we? You're a mother now! But that doesn't mean you know the world! Don't forget I'm still your mother!", She went on and on until she was out of breath.

"We landed safely here."

"I know that now!"

"And we just had our lunch."

"That's good to hear."

"Reyansh is out playing with his father.", I said glancing out of the window and there he was, in the park that is fortunately just beside the hotel, filled with few kids and their parents. I can keep an eye on him.

"He'll get tire immediately, sweetheart.", She mumbled worriedly.

"He said he won't exhaust himself. But he sounded desperate. I couldn't stop him.", I said and smiled at the sight of him throwing feebly snow balls at his father.

"Okay. Pooja is desperate to talk to you. Le meri maa! Karle baat! ", I snickered at their usual bickering.

"Hey, di!", She breathed out.

"Hi. Anything important?"

"Nope. I just want to remind you that I need minimum five pictures of my little rockstar daily! Am I clear!?", She ordered.

"Of course! I'll see to it, Ma'am!", I chuckled.

"Good. Also, I want to talk to you about something important.", She said and I could hear some shuffling, she must be moving to somewhere deserted.

"About what?"

"About your decision. I don't think it's appropriate."

I frowned at the choice of her words. "What do you mean?"

"Di, I'll be honest with you. The men you've encountered with in your life, except Aarav, are all douchebags. First that boy next door, Ayaan, then Ranvijay and then Kabir! Don't you think you're repeating the same mistake?", I could feel her concern through the words.

Wait a minute!

"You knew about Ayaan!?"

"Only an idiot will fail to notice how clumsy and shy you used to get around him.", She snorted.

"Oh. I thought I was discreet.", I said.

"Sweet belief.", She chuckled. "That's not our current subject of discussion though. Do you think he'll let you go?", She asked.

"I'll just leave. I don't need his permission to do anything!", I scoffed.

"I know you don't. But he is a pro in manhandling and blackmailing stuff.", She said.

I sighed. "Indeed he is. But isn't he trying to change? I don't think he'll break his promise this time.", I said but even I doubted my own words.

"Is he worthy of your trust?"

"I'm doing everything for Reyansh, Pooja. He needs a happy environment to remain healthy. I think he knows that he's battling against a fatal disease. And I don't want any negativity inside him. If he stays happy, he'll stay healthy until this child is ready to donate.", I said and she hummed in approval.

"I can understand. Okay, I'm receiving an important call. Talk to you later.", She said.

"Yeah, bye. Take care."

Placing my phone down on the couch beside me, I went to my previous position and stared out. My brows furrowed together when I saw a beautiful brunette talking to Kabir. Reyansh was playing around with some other kid in the park. But he was close to his father.

I smirked when she twirled a strand of her hair around her finger before sweetly smiling at him. She was clearly flirting with him. He was always a lady magnet. Somethings never change.

He'll have someone to pass his night today.

I frowned when he pointed to Reyansh. She chuckled as if she has made a fool of herself. He then pointed up, directly at me and I sat straight. The lady looked up, her eyes quickly found me and she smiled sheepishly before sending me a wave. I awkwardly waved back.

She then left and Kabir went back to Reyansh.

What just happened!? Did he turned her down? But she was beautiful. He's difficult to understand sometimes.

They returned late in the evening. Reyansh stayed in his room until late at night. We had dinner together in this suite and then Kabir went back to his suite. Reyansh made countless attempt to apologize but I ignored him. I know I was becoming petty.

However, I melted, when he crawled closer and snuggled in my arms while asleep.

The next day, we checked out of hotel after breakfast and headed to the house we're to stay for coming three years. I don't know how I'll handle this pregnancy and Reyansh together. But as the time comes, I think I'll learn that too.

Reyansh was bouncing in excitement as soon as the house came into view. Hidden in between of sky touching trees, the cottage looked big, cozy and warm. The road was gravel after we left highway, but the land was even and smooth around the house.

Reyansh got down from car and rushed to the main door. The two guards went along with him to keep an eye. Driver pulled our stuff out and Kabir took them from him.

"Thanks. You can head back home now.", Kabir said after handing him some tip.

"Thank you, sir. At what time should I be here tomorrow?", He asked after closing the trunk.

"10:00 am? Yeah, that'll be fine I guess.", Kabir said with a nod.

"Oh wow! Mommy, come here!", Reyansh screamed and I frowned. Why is he so loud?

Shaking my head at his silliness, I strolled towards the house. The moment I entered, I was met with an elderly woman at the doorstep.

"Hello, ma'am. I'm hired to help you. I hope we can get along.", She smiled. Her tone was motherly and kind. I nodded back.

"Please call me Rivaah.", I said before removing my sandals and manoeuvring inside.

"What the hell!?", I whispered as my eyes ran around the living room.

"Mommy, you're everywhere! And also, everything is of your favorite color!"

I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The walls were painted blue and my frames hung on each and every wall. Some were of mine and Kabir. But majority of them were my solo pictures. The curtains were blue and white, even the couch and pillows had the same combination. I was indeed everywhere. The smiles I had forgotten, those careless and free eyes stared back at me. I stood starstruck.

Hearing the loud footsteps, I turned around and glared at him. How could he do such thing!?

But the moment his eyes swept around, his jaw dropped. "What the hell!?"
