《King of Freaks ✔》Chapter 19

to the left, the wheels landing on the dirt road. I opened my door hastily, quickly getting out. I couldn't breathe. I couldn't focus.
Oh my, I'm gonna die.
I didn't want my life to end like this? I'm too young to die. I haven't conquered my fears, I can't leave Jared alone. I can't leave everything behind. By now, my back was against the car. I was wheezing, clutching my chest. My heart was racing, my chest hurt, I wasn't thinking straight. I'm not thinking straight.
I hadn't noticed that Bryn came to my aid, taking a seat next to me on the ground. She put a hand on my chest, looking at me in the eye. "Eliazer. Calm down." She calmly said.
Calm down? She wants me to calm down? I'm going crazy!
"You're having a panic attack." She added on, once seeing my face. Right then and there, unpleasant memories started flooding my mind. "Shit, it wasn't supposed to get worse."
In fact, her telling me did make things worse.
"Stop!" Bryn yelled out. I looked at her.
Stop what?
"I said stop Eliazer!" She yelled again.
Stop? Stop what? I'm not doing anything.
"Eliazer, I need you to stop right now." She slowly said. By now, I had no memory of anything, I was so concentrated on Bryn yelling me to stop. "You're okay. It's just a panic attack."
"I'm okay?" I mumbled. "I'm not crazy, I'm not dying. I'm perfectly fine." I added, talking to myself as I felt around my chest.
"I'm okay." I sighed, slumping against my car. I felt hot, really hot. I felt like I was having a fever whilst still getting used to the feeling of grasping air. "I just had a panic attack."

"You scared me for a sec," Bryn said, wiping the sweat off my forehead with her hand. "I think I should drive while you sleep or somethin'."
I nodded, completely agreeing. After all, I do trust her.
A bit.

Bryn Atkinson's POV
River immediately realizes his mistake once his eyes set on Grayson. But to make things worse for himself, he tried to stifle his laughter, unsuccessfully. "Hey, Big Gray, I'm really sorry." He said, raising his hands in the air.
"River! You stupid bitch!" Grayson yelled out once he saw his stained pants. He tried getting a grasp on River, may I add River is skinny as fuck, making the whole process harder since he was quick. That only seemed to get Grayson even more furious. River began laughing like a maniac as he ran around the lunch tables, Gray running after him. At some point, Grayson got a hold of River, yanking him by his collar.
"You're lucky you're one of my best friends you little dick." He said.
"I think the dick part might be the opposite." River replied, giving him a little smirk. Grayson sighed, pushing River a bit roughly, making him fall to the ground as he walked back to the table.
"People are gonna think I pissed myself." Gray grumbles, slumping down while looking at his beige pants, which were completely stained.
"None of you guys have spares?" I asked the group.
Eloy snorted, "Did you forget who Gray is Brynnie?" He said. It all made sense, Gray is a big guy, they don't call him 'Big Gray' for nothing. Of course, their puny pants aren't going to fit him.
"Damn, you're right," I said, but a lightbulb turned on in my head. "C'mon, I'll get you some pants," I said, grabbing Grayson's forearm. He grunted, nearly losing his footing before following me out of the cafeteria. After a safe distance away, I stopped in front of the locker rooms, which was connected to the gym.

"Stay here," I told Grayson, motioning him with my hands before entering the gym. I entered another room, the weight room. Just as I expected, Eliazer was there, using the bench press.
"Uh, Eliazer?" I said, my voice echoing throughout the room. His breath caught and he lost control of his arms. I startled him, but he got control back and slowly placed the barbell on its rack. Eliazer looked at me, giving me permission to continue.
"Sorry, um, I need a little favor?" I asked, and he nodded. "Can I borrow a pair of... Pants?" I embarrassingly asked. I know for a fact Eliazer's pants fit Grayson, he has the biggest muscled butt in the world, it's hard to avoid it.
"Sure..." He replied, a bit dumbfounded. Of course, he didn't expect me to ask for a fricking pair of his pants. Eliazer got up, wiping the sweat from his forehead with his shirt before walking towards the boy's locker room. My eyes took in his broad shoulders and muscled torso. A person can notice that, even if he was wearing his shirt. After a few moments, Eliazer came back, handing me a pair of beige joggers.
"Thanks," I said. "You're literally a life saver today," I added, genuinely appreciated.
"No problem." He replied, getting back on the bench press. I waved, which I don't think he even noticed, before running out, handing them to Gray. He inspected them, mumbling thanks before looking at the waistline. He squinted his eyes before looking at the tag on the inside.
"These are Eliazer's." He said, looking at his name written in sharpie.
"I know," I replied.
"How'd you get them?"
"I know him."
"You know him? What the hell Bryn." He says, mumbling the end.
"Is there something wrong?" I said, getting defensive.
"Nope, just wondering how the hell you did that."
"Just put em on, I'm supposed to give them back later." I ushered.
"Right, tell him I said Thanks," Grayson said. Grayson is the type of person to have likes and dislikes, but he never ignores his manners. I was a bit stunned, but nevertheless, a smile broke out on my face. Why?
I don't know.

The Emperor's Chef
"Cook like your life depends on it, kid. Because it does." Charles had an enviable future lined up for him. Training from the age of five by some of the finest chefs in the world. Schooling at a top culinary academy in the capital. An honorable position as heir to House Boulier, a line of merchant-lords who have charmed the rich and powerful with their cooking for centuries. And in a single night, it all burned to ash. When the outbreak of war destroys his hometown, Charles is charged with escorting his family’s sacred treasure—a recipe book passed down for untold generations—out of harm's way. But his simple mission grows complicated when he’s captured by one of the most feared battalions in the world: the Spears of Mercy. Life as a prisoner in their war camp is brutal and uncertain. Charles has few allies and even fewer strengths to rely on. Only his skills in the culinary arts, honed over a lifetime in the kitchen, are deemed useful enough to keep him alive another day. But he’s not out of hope just yet. With a dash of wit, a pinch of luck, and some very creative cooking, he might just find a way to recover his family’s legacy and take back his freedom. This project is a food-themed fantasy that centers on cooking and chefs. The setting spans a wide world featuring ingredients/recipes both real and inspired by traditional fantasy. I'll eventually be publishing it as a full-length novel (or series of novels depending on length). These are the first draft chapters. I'll likely be re-writing more than once, then editing before publishing, so impressions and feedback are quite welcome. If you like the story so far and you're interested in being an early reviewer for the final product, feel free to message me. I'm looking for an artist to make some concept art and a cover (the cover shown here is just a temporary placeholder). A stand-alone novel for now, but it may turn into a series down the road.

Pillars Between Us
It started with the dent left by the Forest Sprite; A small crack in the ice that encased his memories. Curtis knew that something was off, realizing that he wasn’t who he thought he was and— perhaps Ellis wasn’t the one meant for him. --It's a fantasy novel set in a world where people inhabit on pillars-- (think of m*necaft sky block, you'll get what I mean) -- then give it a hint of action, mystery and (twisted) romance-- and it's influenced by Japanese fantasy light novels (cuz I read a lot of em'). But I'm sure it's a weird one cuz the style of writing isn't the Japanese to English translated kind of style but rather the orthodox English novel kind of writing (which includes a bunch of errors and broken English thanks to me!). In any case, if you're up for it, just beware the story starts out pretty slow.. I mean-- back then, I was still inexperienced ok! I'm gettin' better along the way, Hmmph!
