Sophie

"Why did you leave?" I ask "why was I told you were dead?" I add. "It was for the best" my dad replies "why?" I ask. "Because, I wanted to protect you. I thought that if I left, it would be better for everyone" My dad says "how could that ever make anything better?" I ask now on the verge of tears.

I wanted to punch him in the face and give him a hug at the same time. "Because, that's what my parents did. They left me. And it protected me. Anytime, we would get close to becoming a family again,they would send me off to boarding school. That's why I ran away from New York when I was young" he replies. Wow. I guess I never thought about that. I thought I hated him, but he's my dad. I could never hate my dad.

Jentzen

I stare in disbelief over what I had just heard. I always hear about how great our parents childhood were. I guess they were trying to protect us from the truth. I look over and see Sophie giving her dad a hug. I knew she didnt hate him.

A few hours later....

Sophie

"Please come back to visit any time" my dad says as Jentzen and I got up from the small couch in his apartment. "We will" Jentzen and I reply in unsion. I grab my backpack that I had been carrying around and then got ready to leave. Jentzen began to walk out of the room too, but my dad stopped him. I already knew what was gonna happen. My dad was going to say something like 'if you break her heart, you're dead Ramirez' or something like that. I almost felt bad for Jentzen, it's not like he thought if me as more than a friend. And now my dad was going to tell him not to break my heart.

Jentzen

"I remember you, you seemed like a nice kid" Sophie's dad starts. He was going to tell me not to break her heart and stuff. But how I could break her heart if she doesn't even like me?

"I know that you and Sophie are dating, and I just want you to please take care of her. I just don't want her to feel alone in this world." Her dad says. I didnt bother arguing. I just nodded my head and replied with "yes sir". I left the apartment after that, and saw Sophie waiting right outside the door.

"What time is it?" I ask "4 AM" she replies. I was about to ask if she wanted to go to the lazer tag place across the street when I got a call from Piper. "Just a second" I said and I walked away to answer the phone call.

"Its about mom..."
