Walker, Gavin, Piper, Sophie, and I were walking to first period with everyone else, when Sophie just stopped in the middle of the hallway. She stands there for about 30 seconds before I say "are you okay?" and she finally starts walking again and nods her head. Then the bell rings and we all run to class. Mrs.Ryan noticed that we're all late and she says "detention for all of y'all". "We're like 5 seconds late" Hayden argues "and that's an extra day for you Mr. Haas" Mrs.Ryan says. "If you're giving him another day of detention, then you're giving another day to all of us" Symonne demands "fine, all of y'all have two weeks of detention" the teacher says. Clementine rolls her eyes "2 weeks and a half!" She yells and we all go to sit down in our seats. "Great going Hayden and Symonne" Coco whispers "3 weeks!" The teacher shouts, spit flying out of her mouth. Everyone stays quiet now. I see Sophie taking notes, but we werent taking notes today. I look at her notebook and see that she was sketching something. It was a drawing of the Eiffel Tower. "That's a really great drawing." I whipser "thanks" she whispers back. "Ramirez, Fergi, stop talking!" We both face the front of the class.

So here we all are in detention, non of us aloud to talk. I keep catching Jentzen looking at me when he thinks I'm not paying attention. 'That's weird' I thought to myself. I grabbed my notebook and made a list of all the reasons Jentzen was avoiding coming here.
1. He didn't want to leave his dad
2. He's trying to avoid it. Maybe he just wasn't ready to admit the fact that she could die. (Hopefully she wont. But theres still a chance she could).

I listed a few more but the second one sounded kind of reasonable. I should maybe try to talk to him about it after detention. I decide to draw in my notebook for now. Jentzen hands me a note 'great drawing' I smile and he smiles back. I continue drawing and anytime I look up I see Jentzen looking away. Why does he keep looking at me?

Once detention gets dismissed Sophie, Piper, and I walk home along with everyone else. "Do you like Sophie?" Walker asks me "I dont know, why?" I reply. That was a lie, at this point I am pretty sure I do like her. Almost positive. "Just asking for a friend" Walker replies. Oh my gosh Walker likes Sophie! "I dont like Sophie, Piper thought that if she sent me over to ask, you would say something different then you told her" Walker says "oh" I reply. "Why would you care if I liked Sophie though?" Walker asks "I dont know" I said. But then I saw Sophie and Hayden talking. She was laughing and it made me wonder what they were talking about. It made me feel jealous. I definitely like Sophie. "Dont worry I wont tell anyone" Walker says "tell anyone what?" I ask "that you like Sophie" Walker replies "I dont" i say back. He didn't beleive me. I didnt beleive myself either. Sophie's one of the reason i stopped visiting as often. I knew that if my sister found out that I almost kissed her best friend, or that I liked Sophie, she wouldn't be too happy. It was easier to avoid her. Then theres the fact that my mom is dying. I don't know what to say to her. I didn't grow up around her too much. "Hey Jentzen, can I talk to you about something?" Sophie asks "sure" I reply. "I'm sorry if this is hard to talk about you don't have too" She says and I nod my head already knowing what the question was. "Why didn't you come back to LA sooner?" She asks. "I-"....
