《The Red Sun》Hayley

Hayley was left alone with only one guard on duty. When the new hunters arrived, they blindfolded Hayley to avoid recognizing their faces later on, but the fact that she could read all their minds gave her an advantage. They have been torturing her for the last couple of days, asking her questions about the location of the Gorgon sisters and the breeding site of griffins, however her stubborn brain refused to answer any of them, giving them no choice but to resort to more brutal ways of torture; from punches to electrocution.
Hayley never succumbed to the torture, though. She would steal every opportunity to get a taste of revenge, and her trips to the bathroom were her bartender. Her blindfold remained intact at all times except for her bathroom breaks and that was when she struck. She delivered a blow to Freya's head and shoved Franzisca a couple of times and that's when they would taser her. She tried to set a connection with the building's stones as she is still one of the People of the Mountain, in order to be able to vibrate the building, but she failed each time.
Many times she wished she was a siren, no one would have been able to lay a hand on her as soon as she sang. They'd instantly be under her spell as her voice rung through their ears. She desperately wanted to break free, 'but how?'. Hearing their thoughts won't do her any good, for every time she opens her mouth, she gets a smack on her face. 'That's only one. I can take him down. But how? I have no weapons and I am handcuffed.' She was sitting on a firm iron chair, handcuffed to a pillar beside her. She couldn't break free even if she wanted to.
As she was tortured, her mind wandered back to everything. Her father who was supposed to be a counsellor for the Clan of Goblins and yet seemed to do nothing, even though he hasn't been home for the last couple of days, she thought of her mother who was Alberto Primaveri's assistant, she didn't know whether to hate her or not because at the end she was still her mother, 'but she works for the enemy', she thought of Alec, Rylee, Jon and Adam wondering if they even noticed that she was gone. She prayed that they would come and save her yet here she was, kidnapped for two days and no one came for her.

The hunters were insane, she could tell after hours of mind-reading. 'How can their sole purpose in life be money, but at the same time they are addicted?' She didn't get it, why would they hurt people who haven't done anything to them. They were part of the mutation too, she knew that, 'but are they envious of our acquired abilities?' She could ask them but a blow to the face was their only reply. "Why do you do it?" She asked anyways."Do what?" A deep voice replied."Kill us." "Don't you read minds? You must have figured it out. Now shut up." She was quiet for a minute."I don't get it. Is it money or addiction?"He didn't answer, but she heard his thoughts, 'No one can resist it. Addiction is always there yet we manage somehow however when money talks, we cannot refuse. Money and addiction give a bad product. Besides the threat part never allows us to say no anyway.'
He didn't have her sympathy. That was a pathetic excuse to hunt the supernaturals down. If anything, that gave her more reason to think of an escape plan. Flashbacks of her childhood started forming in front of her as she remembered that one time she was playing with Rylee, Alec, Samantha and Adam in middle school. Hayley was the one handcuffed as well and it was Rylee and Samantha's mission to save her. At the end she broke loose by herself and escaped but she couldn't remember how. 'Think Hayley, think.' It was Adam's fault she escaped, he didn't put on the handcuffs well but these ones are very well put.
An idea creeped into Hayley's mind, as unbelievable as it was; the day Alec was shot, she let out a scream so strong that the trees vibrated. She doesn't need to set a connection to the building, all she needs to do is connect to her banshee side. Banshees are the harbingers of death, they can predict deaths or approximate deaths yet their screams are deadly, but how can I do it?. She closed her eyes and began to fall asleep. She started diving deep into her mind, she sensed her eyes glow but she kept them shut concealing the gleam from the hunters. As she dove deeper into her mind, she started seeing memories, faint memories, dreams and finally here it was. She was now on the peak of a mountain, she couldn't sense the cold yet shivers ran down her spine. She saw what seemed to be a reflection of herself. It was not wearing the same as her, Hayley was wearing a grey hoodie with blue jeans while the other Hayley was wearing an old dress with a heavy coat on it. "Who are you?" Hayley asked. "I am a part of you. And now that you have finally come, we have things to discuss." The Other replied. "I am in a middle of something, you know. Can this discussion be postponed?" Hayley smiled. The Other shook her head. "You have to wake up your banshee side my sweet child." She looked at her with her grey eyes."Aren't you her?"The other shook her head again"Then who are you?""As I said. I am a part of you."Hayley went closer to the Other and studied her face."How do I wake her up?""You have to convince her that she must wake up. You convinced her the day your friend Alec was shot." 'Your? Why not our friend.'"I can read minds too, you know.""You are not me.""I never said that. I said I am a part of you. You didn't see any family photos haven't you?"Hayley studied her face again. 'Of course! How can I be so stupid?'"You are Jane Fleming. My grandmother's mother, you were a banshee too."The woman nodded and disappeared.

Hayley walked to the cave inside the mountain and saw herself sleeping. "You have to wake up." She told her sleeping self. "I need you. I need you to escape." She was still asleep. Hayley heard some noise coming from behind her and it was a yeti. The Yetis are large creatures that are as white as snow, they are very hairy and have the hands and feet of a gorilla. The yeti looked at her with his grey eyes and started sniffing. "You have to connect to the yeti if you want to connect with the banshee." She heard a whisper.
"You can see me and I am not here." She went closer to the yeti, "you will be my yeti aren't you." She straightened her arms to touch his. He started withdrawing back. "Don't be scared, I will not harm you." She said with a reassuring voice as she held his hands. He then bowed his head to her and their heads touched. That's when he roared, waking the banshee up. "The banshee wakes up when you are brave enough," She heard Jane say.
She was back to the apartment, being handcuffed again and blindfolded. She gathered every ounce of energy she had left and started screaming. Her scream was so loud that the handcuffs broke. She stood up right away ripping off her blindfold. The hunter was at her but she dodged his punch and jumped. She had his face between her legs as she choked him, "no one punches me in the face and gets away with it." She said as she hit him with both of her hands on his head once, twice, thrice and he was knocked down. She hurried to the door but there was another one, she got her sword in her hand and she stabbed him in his legs. "It is not deadly don't worry." She smirked as she ran downstairs. She was in an unknown street but she ran anyway until she saw a desert. From afar, she saw the silhouette of a familiar face, it was Rylee. "RYLEE!" She tried to shout but nothing came out.
Rylee spotted her and dashed towards her. Hayley fell into Rylee's arms and tears started raining down her eyes as she, at last, has found safety. She was safe now, she knew it.

Nameless Hypocrite
"Bastard, surrender yourself!" "You think you can escape our encirclement?!" "An omnicidal fiend like you can only atone in death!" Despite his precarious situation, a young man ignored the union's provocations. His violet robe was in tatters, showing the incredible number of attacks he received, yet there was no sign of injury. Noticing the light smile tugging at his lips, the pursuing heroes warily watched him, cautious of a final attack. It was only by working together that they could corner a monster like him. An arrow pierced the air, beelining towards the young man. A malicious gleam revealed itself in his eyes; he unsheathed his sword, a long, curved blade, and deflected the projectile, spiking it into the ground. The archer's eyes widened before being split in two. He died suddenly and indignantly. The group backed away; their former confidence diminished greatly by the invisible counter. It was then that the young man sighed, his voice full of lament and self-pity. "Being a saint truly is difficult, even the world cannot understand my righteous actions." The expressions of the surrounding heroes turned ugly. Such blatant hypocrisy! Yes, the protagonist is a villain. We don't do morals here. New chaps when I write them
