Mackenzie POV

"What do you think you're doing?" The voice stops me half way to the vent.

"Hi... I was just leaving." I say and take a step toward my escape hatch.

"Stop right there pup." The guy says. His buddy just stares at me like a creep. I fight the eye roll at being called pup. He obviously knows I'm not a wolf by smell but wolves call all children pup and apparently thinks I'm a child.

"No thanks!" I smirk at them before diving into the vent.

They are too big to follow but I need to be quick. I strip my clothes... I'm gonna have to leave them if I want to get out of here quickly. This is my favorite hoodie too! Sad face. I shift. Grabbing the money and my goggles I fly as fast as I can out of that house and back to safety.

Alpha Brenton's POV

"That little Bit..." I growl cutting Eddy off and he rolls his eyes.

"Dude I appriceate you taking care of me earlier but I'm not little right now so I can curse all I want and she..."

"Is my mate." I cut him off again and his jaw drops.

"But she ran." He says.

"I know."

"Shouldn't your mate go all gaga over you? She hardly even looked at you." He adds and I growl.

"Yes, I know!"

"Dude what are you gonna do?" He asks

"I don't know... I need to find her... Get one of the teens to search the vents figure out how she got in. Send out patrols to search for a scent. She isn't a wolf that much I know so she couldn't have gone far." I ramble out my plan then remember that just over an hour ago I told him no Beta duties.

"Are you good man? I still think you should talk to Kelly." I ask me beta but he just brushes me off.

"Don't worry about it Bren. You helped I'll be good for a bit. Once things settle down at the hospital I'll have my girl back no problem." He says and I laugh.

"What happened to mommy?" I ask.

"You know I don't like being like that in front of people... Please just don't?" He begs and I give him a half hearted smile.

"As a daddy let me tell you it would mean the world to her if you would call her that outside of little space... Just think about it. No one will judge you here you know that. When we meet our mate that side of us comes out more. The longer you are with Kelly the more you will want to be little and there's nothing wrong with that." I tell him and he nods but I know he doesn't believe me.

"Wait so what does that mean for your little thief?"

Mackenzie's POV

"Kenzie!" I hear my boss call and I jump up and jog into his office.

"Yes sir?" I ask.

"How are you feeling little one?" He asks and I shrug.

"Why do you ask?" I respond.

"Well you've been off in your own little world all day. You are usually on top of my coffee. You forgot to mention my meeting in 20 minutes. Your phone has rung to voicemail three times if I counted right... And you've been chewing your nails." He lists off.

"I think I'm just tired sorry Mr. Adler." I apologize.

"It's okay. I'm just worried about you. How about you take the rest of the day off? Go home, take a nap, get something to eat. And be ready to work tomorrow. Sound good?" He suggests and I nod.

"Yes sir. Thank you."

"Good girl, now go." He says shooing me to the door.

I happily leave but decide to take a little fly. I don't know where to go but my run down, pay by the night or month, no questions asked, apartment does not sound fun. The fridge is empty and broken, the rats ate any other food I had, my bed is hard, and my neighbors scare me.

Some how when my thoughts wondered I ended up at the wolves mansion. Why am I here? I swoop around a few times but I can't seem to get myself to leave.

"Got cha!" I hear someone yell as im caught in a net. "Finnaly! I'll give you to the Beta and he will finally be off my back about his dang liver." The guy holding the net growls stalking into the building.

I squeak trying to break free but its no use.

"What are you doing?" I hear a female voice yell.

"I caught the thief for the Beta." He says all proud and she sighs.

"Give her to me." The lady says.

"But the Beta was so upset about his liver!" The male argues.

"Liver?... Oh... I'll deal with my mate Tanner. Go enjoy your day." The lady tells him as she takes the net. She gently pulls me out. All my fighting in the thing has me tired so I just rest in her palm.

"What is this?" Another voice asks as a man enters the room. Hey I know him! He yelled at me in the office. I squeak at him and the lady laughs.

"That's the bat that keeps stealing your liver, beta!" The oh so helpful guy says and the other one growls.

"Tanner go. You mister fallow me and knock off the growling." The lady says and the beta pouts.

"Youre just a baby aren't you?" The lady says and I nip at her finger. I am not a baby! Even if I do look like one. "None of that now. Be a good girl."

"Why are you talking to the little rat? Just kill it its a thief." The beta grumbles.

"Eddy knock it off. Are you so caught up in your anger that you can't tell this little bat is a shifter?" The lady asks and I try to get out of her hands but she keeps me held firmly not too tight but so I'm not going anywhere. He taksa a whiff of me and growls.

"Yea but I can't tell her real scent beyond shifter and bat. Shift you little rat!" He growls and I hide myself in the lady's hands.

"You go have a seat." The lady growls at him while srtroking my head with a single finger. "Its okay little one I got you. The puppy won't hurt you." I laugh at her calling the Beta a puppy but I'm sure it came out more like little chirps.

She places me on a bed and I can finally look around. It seems like I am in a hospital. I squirm and squeak at this. I hate hospitals!

"Calm down, little one you are safe here." The lady says.

"Just leave the rat!" The beta whine/ growls sounding like a little kid and the lady turns to him.

"And how long have you been trying to make me liver?" I see him look away. I feel like I'm missing something here.

"Week er so." He mumbles.

"Baby you need to tell me when you need me. I know im busy but you come first. I'm your mommy not theirs." She scolds him befire wrapping him in a hug causing him to whine.

"Kellllyyyy!"

"No! I'm mommy right now, little boy, and there's no way you can convince me you aren't little right now." She corrects him.

While they do what ever that is I'm getting out of here. I test my wings out and whine a bit. The jerk with the net did a number on my left wing... I think I can still make it out of here though. I jump up and haphazardly fly tword the door when I hit something or someone. Lucky for me that someone caught me before I hit the ground.

His eyes go wide when he looks at me and I feel tingles all throughout my body.

"Why hello my little bat."

As soon as I hear his voice I know who he is.
