《Baby Batty》04

Rent
Why do we have to pay it?
I don't want to. Especially when my apartment sucks and the fridge is broken so all my food went bad... I think I'll steal some food early then come back later for the safe.
I shift and fly over to my favorite wolfie mansion. Liver again... One day I'll be able to buy food and not eat this yucky stuff. I dive down and grab the meat.
"What are you? A bat!? Get out of here you little rat!" A man yells swinging at me. I fly away as fast was I can. Well there goes never being caught... But at least I got dinner.
After my meal I fold up a pair of leggings and a thin sweatshirt. All black of course I'm a thief. I slide them in a thin bag and shift. I can barley hold my bag as I fly but I'll need to be in human form to break into the safe. No way will I do that without clothes.
When I get back to the mansion I make my way down the chimney and into the heat vents. Same path as before I fly through the vents to the office with the safe. The only advantage to being small I am able to shift and dress in the vent. I put on my glasses, well they are more like goggles so they don't fall off. You see people think bats are blind they aren't. They are just out at night so they use echolocation to get around. In other words they have a excellent hearing. They make a sound that bounces off objects telling them where things are... Now though most bats see well I am nearly blind. I wear contacts most of the time but they don't shift well so... goggles because I can't be trusted with glasses. (I've lost too many pair to count.)
Once ready I look out the vent. Looks like the Alpha already left for the evening. Good!
I slip out and go to the safe. I shift my ears into my bats so I can hear the clicks and boom I'm in!

I take a couple bills from five random stacks. You see this is why I've gotten away with this twice already. I don't take much so they don't notice. Now time to lock up and head home. Hopefully I'll have a paycheck of my own next time rent comes around and won't need to do this.
A crash stops me in my tracks as I bump into the desk... Oops!
Alpha Brenton's POV
"We have a problem!" My beta yells storming into my office.
"What is it now Eddy?" I ask and he growls.
"A thief! The last two hunts someone stole my liver! We need to find them and make them pay! We... We can... Cover them in hony and throw them to the bees! Or make them lick the training room floor clean! That will teach them!" He huffs flopping into a chair opposit me.
"You alright bub?" I ask knowing the answer.
"Mm good jus want my liver! I was gonna cook it up good. Now I can't." He pouts and I sigh.
"When was the last time you and Kelly had some time together?" I ask.
"Couple weeks... She's busy... 3 wolves expectin' pups. Two on bed rest in the 'ospital. Doctor got ta work hard." He says. That explains alot.
"I'm calling her." I tell him and he jumps up grabbing my phone from my hand.
"Nope! Needs to focus. Can't bother her." He argues.
"You are her mate and Beta. You make a darn good one when your head is on straight but right now you need to slip and I know you are most comfortable if that is with your mommy so give me my phone bub. You need her." I try to convince him but he shakes his head before throwing my phone against the wall. That's it!
I tackle my beta and wrestle him to the ground. Even if he is a little he is a strong wolf so he takes a firmer hand. Once I have him restrained he is in tears. I know I haven't hurt him physicly but the poor guy hasn't been able to relax in weeks. He is stressed and that is showing in tears.

"Shhhh... I got you Eddy. You need a time out to cool down then we're gonna talk okay?" I ask still holding him down.
"Kay." He mumbles and I pull him up to sit in front of me while I hold his arms. "Le' me go!" He whines.
"You know that doesn't work with you bub. You won't sit still and this will never be over so calm down and do your time." I tell him he doesn't respond but his breathing slowly calms. That's the thing with him. If you stand him in a corner he will never stay. I'm not his Dom so I won't spank him. I'm his friend but I'm still his Alpha so I can't allow him to act out. The only way a time out works is to hold him. Not to coddle him but to force him to be still. He basicly needs a bear hug where you have him restrained in your arms. I know for a fact Kelly would have turned his backside cherry red by now but I want to talk to him before I call her. After about 6 minutes I let him up.
"Sit down Eddy." I tell him and he climbs into a chair. "I understand Kelly has a lot to do as the pack doctor but she is your mate. You need your time in little space to be at your best. You know when you put it off you turn into a brat. She loves you, bub, and she wants to take care of you."
"That why I wanted the liver... Its the only thing I cook good. Mommy tells me how proud she is and that I'm a good boy... It helps me slip... Its like a code we have so she knows I really need her. You know I don't like being little in front of other people... But now she never leaves the hospital cause the pregnant wolves need her. What kind of Beta would I be if I steal the doctor away from pups?" He explains and I sigh. He is too proud to ask for help. He can't just say he needs to be little and will put it off as long as he can.
"Alright Eddy you have two options. Option one I call Kelly..."
"NO!" He cuts me off. I just give him a look that shuts him up and continue.
"Option two is you take a coloring book and go over there for the next two hours. No beta duties. You need a break." I finish.
"But what about the thief... Not the Liver one the one that's robbing the safe? Only a few people have that code." He asks and I sigh. That is a problem. One he would usually solve but he is no good to me until he has some little time.
"I got that. You don't need to think about anything other than what shade of red to color Lightning McQueen." I tell him and I see his eyes sparkle. There we go!
"He gots ta be purple cause it's my favorite!" He cheers taking the book and crayons. I know it won't last long without Kelly but it's a start.
If only he wasn't so stuborn. He's actually a good little boy and an amazing beta. You should see the creative ideas he comes up with that could only come from a little and the pack loves him... It's just the in between brat phase he gets in when he hasn't slipped that is a hand full.
"Come on Eddy why don't we play in your room. It's way more fun than here." I say holding out my hand and he smiles before dragging me up the stairs.
I watched him play while I worked on my laptop for about an hour when we hear a crash which pulls him out of little space right away.
"What was that?" He asks and I shrug before jumping up and running out the door.
"What do you think you're doing?" Eddy growls as we barge into my office.

Unique Fusion Magic Hex
World Essence. The mysterious energy coursing throughout the entire land of Vor'ten, and very possibly the entire world. This energy has allowed humanity to flourish, building great empires and vast kingdoms, conquering nature itself with just a sweep of their hand. Humans were the strongest existence, and with the help of channeling this World Essence, many were able to turn into Magic Knights, gaining magical abilities to combat the various fierce beasts throughout the lands.Alas... those glory days of old were long gone. Humanity has now been pushed to the brink of destruction, and now the remaining members of the human race are encased within giant domes known as 'Alkkras', made with the last remaining bits of the World Essence. It was said that those giant domes were the last gifts left by the remnants of the ancient human race, as a means to protect the future generation from the attacks of the many wild beasts roaming outside. Five Spiritualist Invokers, all combined together, used the last bit of the World Essence and sacrificed their lives to lay a gigantic, 1028-seal formation magic array to form these barriers, forever saving humanity, but also trapping humanity within these barriers. However, the humans were never completely helpless. No matter how little World Essence was left, the humans still had some remaining. Realizing the incoming crisis, the humans found a way to seal World Essence inside a special type of crystal. Soon, these crystals began to become implanted into weapons, turning them into World Essence Weapons, and they began to display properties of their own. Extreme heat. Bone chilling cold. Absurd sharpness. These normal weapons, after being imbued with the energy of the World Essence Crystals, began to form natural affinities to elements. Fire. Water. Earth. Wind. Darkness. Light. Using these weapons, one could become a Chevalier that wielded the power of the elements. However, if one wanted to reach a higher level of enlightenment and understanding, one could become an Invoker. Via the study of magic array formations, one could directly use the power of the World Essence to cast devastating magics upon the enemy. These people were Invokers, highly valued for their combat potential by the Army. These weapons and magical arrays were used in the great fight between the humans and the beasts long ago. They had long since been put away in storage, almost long forgotten...However, after ten-thousand years of suppression, the human race is beginning its counterattack against the Beasts... Synth was an Invoker in the Magecroft Academy. However, his talent was terrible, being only at the Spark Stage. This led to him being looked down upon and bullied. He was unable to cast any Calamity-rank or even Destruction rank spells, and was only able to cast Coalescing rank spells at the age of 17, a record low in the academy for cultivating these rare Invokers. Even though he put in more effort than anyone else, he was still unable to advance his Channeling Energy. But due to his constant research and study, Synth ended up creating a power that would go against the heavens - he had found how to Fuse spells together. After trying it out once, merging the magical array for the Small Fireball and the Mortal Judgement skills, he was able to create a mid-rank Destruction tier spell, Holy Judgement Flame. However, after this, no matter how hard he tried, he was unable to fuse more spells together or even cast them, and noticed a weird, pentagram shaped formation on his left arm. He would later call this mark the Fusion Magic Hex, a curse that prevented the wielder from casting magic that wasn't their own...This meant that with the exception of Synth's newly created skill, , he was going to have to create unique magic arrays if he ever wanted to step on the path of becoming an Invoker! This power that destroyed the laws of the Invoking System, and his unyielding persistence in testing and creating new spells, would later gain Synth the nickname the Unique Fusion Hex, and lead him to become one of the strongest beings in the entire World!
