《Princess Of The Underworld》15| The Big Game

I stood in the bleachers during the tourney game, everyone was screaming and cheering, this was in no way my scene.
"This is dumb." I muttered, fiddling with the zippers on my pants.
Evie pursed her lips slightly, her eyes running over the field, "Oh shh, we're here to support Jay and Carlos."
I scoffed lightly, pointing to the two boys who sat on the the bench, "You mean the two who haven't played yet?" Evie rolled her eyes.
Mal nudged me lightly with her shoulder, "We're also here to keep an eye on Beast Jr., I'm not sure what the full effects of the spell are, and we don't want him to get too crazy."
My eyes traveled to Ben as he ran on the field, after the whole singing-in-the-hall-accident Ben wouldn't leave me alone. Jay and Carlos had to literally drag him away to go get ready for the game.
"Oh my god." Lonnie said from next to me in her yellow and blue attire, "They're finally putting Jay on the field!" She cheered.
I looked down to see that Jay was in fact walking onto the field...and he was pulling someone onto the field behind him?
"Is that..." Evie trailed off and Mal nodded from next to her.
"Carlos."
The girls and I exchanged a look, this was bound to be interesting.
We watched as the round started, Jay passing the ball long distance. When someone from another team tried to shoot, Carlos blocked it, and started dancing on the field.
I laughed as I cheered him on, "Nice moves, Carlos!"
We watched as Jay made it through the kill zone, dodging other players rapidly, he shot at the net, only to be blocked. We all moaned in defeat.
"Twenty-three seconds left." The announcer's voice boomed across the stadium, "You could cut the tension with a sword!"
I stood up as Jay caught the ball, Carlos blocking only to be knocked down. Jay then picked him up, and together they made it through the kill zone with Carlos blocking and Jay maneuvering them through.
Carlos ducked down, along Jay to jump over to him, passing the ball to Ben? Did Jay really just pass up on the opportunity to make the winning shot?

I pushed the thought aside and I soon found myself cheering as Ben scored! Allowing, Auradon Prep to win the game.
Lonnie and Evie jumped up and down, while Mal covered her ears. I smirked, clapping lightly.
"Here they come, folks! The winning team-" The announcer was cut off by Ben grabbing the mic from him.
"Excuse me everyone, can I have your attention please?" My eyes widened and everyone stopped cheering to focus on Ben, "There's something I'd like to say."
We all looked at him expectedly as he jumped up onto the cannon, "Give me an, H!"
"H!"
"Give me an, A!"
"A!"
What was he doing? Mal traded an amused glance with me.
"Give me an, D!"
Oh no.
"D"
"Give me an, E!"
"E!"
"Give me a, Y!"
"Y!"
"What does that spell?"
"Hadey!" All eyes turned to focus on me, I buried my face in my hands.
"What does that spell?"
"Hadey!" I heard Lonnie, Mal, and Evie scream in my ear.
"Come on, I can't hear you!"
"Hadey!"
I watched, amused as Audrey let out a shriek before running off the field, at least I made her upset.
I looked up to see Ben smiling directly at me, "I love you, Hadey! Did I mention that?"
"Oh my god." I mumbled to myself as Lonnie eagerly took my arm in hers, jumping up and down.
Ben then turned to the band, "Give me a beat!"
Doug then counted off in Spanish, cueing in the band.
"What was in that cookie?" Mal teased causing me to roll my eyes. Could this get any worse?
Ben opened his mouth and started to sing, "Did I mention? I'm in love with you. And did I mention, there's nothing I can do? And did I happen to say I dream of you everyday? So let me shout it out loud if that's okay, hey, hey. If that's okay!"
I looked around, shocked, "Is he singing? Is he singing to everyone?" I asked Evie over all the cheering.
She shook her head, smiling and clapping along, "No, he's singing to you."
My eyes flew back to Ben who was now dancing with the rest of the team, including Jay and Carlos, who both smirked at me.

"I met this girl who rocked my world, like it's never been rocked, and now I'm living just for her and I won't ever stop. I never thought that this could happen to a guy like me. But now look at what you've done, you got me down on my knees." I watched in utter shock as Ben dropped to his knees, I turned to see Mal laughing.
"Because my love for you is ridiculous! I never knew!"
Everyone around me chimed into the song, "Who knew?"
"That it could be like this! My love for you is-"
Mal jumped in from next to me, "Ridiculous!"
"My love is," I then watched as Ben spelled out a word with his body, "R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S!"
"R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S!"
"It's-"
"Ridiculous!"
"Just-"
"Ridiculous!"
"And I would give my kingdom for just one kiss!" Ben then blew a kiss to me. I rolled my eyes as I sat down, only to be pulled right back up by Mal, who was enjoying this way to much.
Ben then dragged the mic stand behind him as he walked closer to the crowd, his eyes trained on me,"Did I mention? I'm in love with you." I watched as the entire team pointed at me, "And did I mention, there's nothing I can do? And did I happen to say I dream of you everyday? So let me shout it out loud if that's okay, hey, hey. If that's okay!"
The team then all began moving their hips side to side with the beat as Ben picked up yet another verse, "I gotta know which way to go, come on, give me a sign. You gotta show me that you're only ever gonna be mine."
"I don't make any promises." I said aloud, though it was drowned out by all the screams.
"Don't wanna go another minute livin' without you, cause if your heart just isn't in it, I don't know what I'd do!"
I covered my mouth in shock as Ben fell backwards into the team, who then sprung him forward.
"Because my love for you is-"
"Ridiculous!"
"I never knew,"
"Who new?"
"That it could be like this!"
"My love for you," Mal then took my wrist in her hand, making me point at myself. "Is ridiculous!"
"My love is R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S!"
"R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S"
"It's-"
"Ridiculous!"
"Just-"
"Ridiculous!"
"And I would give my kingdom for just one kiss! Come, on now!"
Ben then ran around, high-fiving the team as the band picked up tempo. My eyes widened as Carlos went down into a split.
I watched as Ben removed his jersey and I shook my head as the team all pointed at me, "No, no, no-"
I sucked in a deep breath as the blue jersey hit me in the face, causing Evie to let out a laugh.
"Because my love for you is ridiculous! I never knew!" Ben sang as he climbed onto a costume horse causing me to chuckle.
"Who knew?"
"That it could be like this!"
"My love for you is ridiculous!"
"My love is R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S"
"R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S!"
He then fell backwards off the horse and into the team's arms. Some cheerleaders then lifted him up onto their shoulders before throwing him into the stands causing me to shriek.
"Oh god." I mumbled to myself, my eyes trained on Ben, who was now crowdsurfing.
"It's-"
"Ridiculous!"
"Just-"
"Ridiculous!"
I turned to look at Mal, who had the biggest smirk on her face, "How much potion was in that cookie?"
"And I would give my kingdom for just one kiss!"
Before Mal could respond, I was whipped around and came face to face with the singing Prince as he yelled into the microphone, "Come on, now!"
He then placed the hand that wasn't holding the microphone on my cheek, bringing me in for a kiss. I quickly turned my head so that his lips met my cheek.
"I love you, Hadey!" Ben announced as he pulled me in for a side a hug, "Did I mention that?"
I nodded at the boy before turning to Mal and Evie, "Is it too late to come up with a different plan?"
They only laughed.

The Harrowbird's Crown
(Formerly: Tales of a Harrowed House) Synopsis: This is the tale of an exiled royal family who, after their bloody reunion on the island of Providence, return to a war-torn homeland where once more, powerful forces pit sibling against sibling in a bid for the crown — and once more, the magical streets of Auctor echo their infamous motto: “Fire will Reign as Harrowbirds Soar!” From his humble beginnings as a shoemaker’s son, his year spent as a daringly brazen orphan caught between rivaling Houses and a mad ghost, and his fight for the crown after his return to Auctor, Corbyn faces a coming-of-age story unlike any before him as he discovers magic and birthright are two things he never knew he had. From the intimate narrative of a childhood that was never her own, her year spent struggling to find the person she is rather than the person her family needs her to be, the secrets she hides, and the truths she finds, Halle discovers herself on the fabled island of Providence as her House collapses around her, bids to enter a legendary school of magic in her homeland of Auctor, and fights for a crown she never knew she wanted. A high-action, character-focused story written with a poet’s styling, The Harrowbird’s Crown is a tale that will transport readers into the conflict and conquest of a royal family back on the rise. General Information: This story is more traditionally plotted. While the beginning may seem to start out slowly, when shit hits the fan: the action is constant, the mysteries are satisfying, and the character development is rewarding. Chapters are usually between 2.5-3.5 thousand words (though some, like the first and second chapters, can run up to 5k words). When it’s long it means that the chapter will just have that much content in it. There’s Action, Mystery, Fantasy, Comedy, and some Psychological undertakings. Romance hasn’t come up yet, but it may in future chapters. I try to have chapters out every Sunday at 7:00 CST Book One: The Ghost of Providence
