《Princess Of The Underworld》05| An Ugly Shade of Pink
Advertisement
As I followed Mal and Evie into our room I was not expecting whatever this was. There was pink and light everywhere. It was horrible!
"Oh my god!" Evie exclaimed, "This is so amaz-"
"Disgusting." I cut her off, poking lightly at a stuffed toy on top of the dresser, taking a step back when it squeaked.
"Yeah, amazing how disgusting it is. Ew." Evie announced, though I knew that somehow she liked this awful room.
"I'm gonna need some serious sunscreen." Mal muttered to herself, before pointing towards the window, "E, H." We all then quickly covered the windows, making the room significantly darker.
"Much better." Mal sighed to herself, plopping down on a pink chair.
A little while later we stopped by the boy's room to plan on how to get the wand. As I pushed past the door I took a minute to take in the room, it was way better then anything we had on the Isle.
"Hey, guys!" Carlos called to us over his shoulder, from where he was playing a video game.
I walked over to Jay, where he stood by a bed, a collection of random items scattered across it.
"What's up?" I asked Jafar's son, crossing my arms over my chest.
He glanced at me, pulling another item from his vest pocket, "It's called stealing."
I rolled my eyes, "Okay, what's the point?"
"It's like buying whatever I want," He gestured to all his stolen goods, "but it's free."
Mal sighed, picking up a wallet from Jay's stash and inspecting it, "Cool. Hey, here's an idea, you leave this here and get it back when take over the world?"
Jay chuckled, looking at a computer he had swiped, "Whatever."

I sighed in exasperation, "Look, we need to get the wand and get out."
Evie perked up from where she was inspecting herself in the magic mirror, "You sound just like your dad."
I smiled at her, that was such a compliment, "Thank you."
"Jay," Carlos called over the boy, handing him the game controller, "You gotta try this, it's awesome!"
I watched as Jay tried out the game, taking down a few of the other players, laughing as he did so.
"Do you guys even remember why we're here?" Mal raised her voice causing us to look over at her, "Look, our main priority is getting that wand. Evie, mirror me." We all moved to the table in the center of the room as Evie took out the magic mirror.
"Mirror, mirror, on the...in my hand," She rhymed, was that really the only way this thing would work? "Show us where the magic wand...stands."
The mirror then showed what must be the wand, which seemed to be floating somewhere.
"That must be it." Jay breathed out.
I nodded my head, "Now, where is it?"
Carlos pointed at the mirror, "Make it zoom out."
Evie nodded, telling the mirror to zoom out to. It did so, showing the entire world.
I scoffed, "Well look, the mirror has a sense of humor."
"Closer," Evie instructed so that the mirror now showed the United States of Auradon, "Closer...closer."
"Can I go back to my game now?" Carlos questioned, pointing to the tv.
"There!" Mal ignored Carlos, pointing to the mirror which now showed a sign, "The Museum of Cultural History."
Carlos typed something onto the computer and turned it towards us, the screen showed a map.
"It's two point three miles from here."
"Well," Mal looked around at us, "Let's go." I followed Mal as she ran out, realizing that someone was missing.
"Carlos!" I called out for the boy who was no doubt, back to his game.
"Coming!" I heard him yell back and the sound of his footsteps as he ran down the hall to catch up with us.

Reasons to Stay
Immortality has a cost, it differs from person to person. Some regret seeing their loved ones die, some regret they themselves cannot die, some regret the boredom and some regret nothing. This man regrets not having a choice, so after millions of years of getting shot, beheaded, beaten, stabbed and stoned he escaped from the world by hiding in a bunker with his books. He had studied all forms of science, he had lived history and created art, he was content with being alone with his mind until one day a man with a monocle appears, and he learns the truth. Hi! This is my second novel and I just had this idea when I was trying to sleep and my mind was making me re-live all those goddamn nightmares you don't want when it's 1 am and dark as shit, so I thought of happy things like the fantasy genre and my inevitable death and i'm like why not?

Delicate as Glass
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Nuri, an [Assistant Glassworker], only has a single Skill. It’s really not fair. He’s worked in the hot shop his entire life, following in his father’s footsteps after his parents passed away, but he’s stuck. Despite possessing above-average talent as an artisan, he still hasn’t shed his [Assistant] status, gained a second Skill, or even leveled enough to reach the first Threshold. Besides, he’s bored; most days he daydreams of adventure and becoming a hero, or pines for the renown that’s sure to be his if he evolves his Class into a [Master Glass Smith], but nothing ever changes—until suddenly, fate strikes, and nothing is ever the same again. These days, Nuri sees more magic, prestige, and adventure than he can handle as he gets swept up in realm-shaking conspiracies and desperate fights for his life. Maybe a boring life wasn’t so bad after all. Disclaimers: 1) Names were mostly chosen through random generators and aren’t necessarily final. If they seem derivative or boring, blame RNG. 2) Skills, Classes, levels, and the entire system is currently a work in progress; please be kind if it’s not very well fleshed out yet. 3) This is the first full-length novel I've set out to write without a single plot point ready. I had nothing in mind other than a recent visit to a hot shop. Molten glass is pretty awesome. 4) Related, I know much less about glass than I’d like. I did some research, but mistakes are bound to happen. If you have a correction, thanks! Please be polite about it. 5) The prose is my experimental attempt at first-person, present tense. I realize it may not be everyone’s preference, but I hope you’ll give it a try anyway!
