"Fuck!" Jeongguk cursed, rattling on the door handle like a mad man. Taehyung frowned and got up too, hoping that this was all a joke and he could just go home, to not see Jeongguk's annoying visage anymore.
"You're just weak, let me try," the blond spoke, watching as Jeongguk stepped aside with a roll of his eyes.
"I'd like to see you try."
Taehyung's delicate hand landed on the door handle and he pushed it down, first time slowly, second time with more strength and next times all with desperation. "She locked it?"
Jeongguk stared at Taehyung in horror. "We're stuck?"
The blond tried to keep calm, although internally he was cursing this day's full existence. "Don't panic, do you have your phone here? Mine has no battery."
He must have his phone right? Who doesn't go around with his phone anymore?
Answer: Jeon Jeongguk.
"I left my whole stuff outside in the floor, I thought it would be in the way," Jeongguk responded, his words were fast and quickly spoken, but for Taehyung it was like Jeongguk's lips were moving in slow motion, spitting out the words in the slowest way possible, to make this day worse and worse with every syllable.
"You're the fucking student council leader, don't you have a key for the rooms or somethin' like that?"
Taehyung rolled his eyes at the curses and shook his head. "I'm not a teacher."
"That means... we're really stuck here?"
The school was empty, it was past lesson hour.
No. No, Taehyung can't let this day get worst. He can't be stuck in school, all alone with the boy he hates the most on this whole wide planet. He turned back to the door and began knocking, no rather punching against the flat surface. "Hello! We're stuck here!"
Jeongguk stood besides him, just watching Taehyung's desperate tries to get heard by someone, who wasn't even existing.
"Leave it, no one will hear you," Jeongguk said in a surprisingly calm voice.
"We have to try— I think you also don't wanna be stuck here with me, right?" Taehyung continued to hit the door with the flat side of his fists and he wouldn't stop, until a warm palm found his wrist.

Taehyung froze and turned to Jeongguk.
"You will hurt your hand," the ravenette said, a hidden tone in his voice that let a shiver run down Taehyung's spine.
The blond quickly composed himself though, let out a scoff and pushed Jeongguk's hand away. "As if you care, also, do you have a better idea? We need to get out somehow."
This whole day, Jeongguk perceived Taehyung as too calm and a little more different than usually. He seemed... more reserved. And now in front of him, that was the Taehyung he knew— feisty. His lip tugged up on one end.
"You really don't want to be alone with me, hmm?"
The way he had asked that made another shiver run down Taehyung's spine and for obvious reasons it made him so damn mad. He could have punched Jeongguk right in that moment. "I would rather be stuck with a bear than with you," Taehyung grumbled, honestly not meaning it.
"I would love to see that too," Jeongguk chuckled and the low rumble of that deep voice once again stirred something unreadable inside of Taehyung and he hated it just as much as having Jeongguk look at him like that.
"It's all your fault we're here anyways," Jeongguk said and Taehyung knew he was right, but didn't want to give Jeongguk the confirmation— it would mean he gave in and when it concerns Jeongguk, Taehyung hates giving in.
"You shouldn't have talked to me then." You're good at that anyways. Taehyung added in his head, quickly discarding that thought to not bath in the all too familiar feeling of self pity again.
"Yeah, of course. It's always my fault."
"It is. You wouldn't be here if you just let me and Jimin talk in peace."
"You were annoying."
Taehyung scoffed and let it be. Arguing with Jeongguk doesn't make any sense. "Will we have to stay here until tomorrow?"
He hopes not. Taehyung can't imagine sleeping in a classroom, more over he can't imagine sleeping in a room with Jeongguk, although it used to be daily routine for them when they were younger.

"I don't think so, didn't Mrs Jang say she would check if the room is clean later?"
"Later can mean anything, though." It can. And that scared Taehyung, not knowing if he will be able to bear being alone with Jeongguk, without feeling alle the memories crumble up again and flood over him, leaving him stranded in the familiar sadness.
And for now, he has to prepare himself for a long afternoon, stuck in the school, in the classroom, with his old best friend, who broke his heart multiple times.
How bad can it go anyways?
The old white clock in the classroom revealed to Taehyung that almost an hour has already passed, where him and Jeongguk where locked in the classroom. During this whole hour, after that last conversation, that rather ended awkwardly, as Taehyung just walked away from the locked door and slumped back into his usual seat, while Jeongguk sat somewhere on the other end of the classroom, the two hadn't exchanged any words.
They didn't even look at each other.
Until—
"Shortie?"
"What?" Taehyung spat, rather rudely, even more rude than he wanted it to be, but on second thought, he thoughts this was exactly the way he wanted it to sound like.
"Let's play a game."
"We're no kids anymore—
"Do you remember when we always used to play this game where we weren't allowed to say yes or no?"
Of course Taehyung remembers this game, that was usually very short lived when it came to other kids playing it, but for Jeongguk and Taehyung, it wasn't. They spend a lot time playing that game, coming up with the most ridiculous answers there are. It was a game they would play during car rides, when they couldn't sleep at night, or even just to pass some time.
It was one of these beautiful memories of Taehyung's that turned to these stone cold faded ones.
"Sure," he responded, although internally he wasn't really sure if it was a good idea to play again. Not when an outburst of emotions inside of him was risked.
"Okay, I'll start. Is your birthday in December?"
Taehyung snorted. "We haven't talked for a year, shouldn't you ask me questions you don't know the answer of?
Taehyung watched Jeongguk's expression change to something more thoughtful, as if his words stroke him somewhere deep inside and for some reason, it let Taehyung feel a pang inside too.
"You're right... Do you tell Jimin everything?"
From all questions Taehyung expected, this one was none of them. "Eh... of course?" He responded, confused. Now it was his turn to ask and there were millions of questions that filled his mind, questions he has been dying to ask Jeongguk since a whole year, but he just couldn't bring them over his lips, so he just goes with the safe ways.
"Does Yoongi talk about Jimin?"
"Definitely," Jeongguk responded, the tension that was in the room releasing a little bit. "Are you still an easy crier?"
Taehyung halted, is he serious? "We're stuck in a classroom and you still want to make fun of me? Honestly, fuck y—
"I'm asking... genuinely." There it was, This expression Taehyung couldn't identify and also was scared to.
"Fine. Not at all, I don't cry easily."
That was definitely a lie and reading off Jeongguk's reaction, he knew that too.
"Are you too ahead of yourself?" Taehyung then asked, wanting to come over as offensive as possible and Jeongguk only chuckled. "Sometimes."
Taehyung nodded, agreeing.
"Next question... Do you hate me?"
A scoff that screamed the words 'are you serious?' left Taehyung. "Positive."
He did hate Jeongguk.
He watched Jeongguk expression not change at all, his features stayed the same way as they were before Taehyung let out that answer and that confirmed for him, that Jeongguk accepted that Taehyung hates him.
He does not want to hate him though, not at all and by no means.
And the question if Jeongguk hated him too arose quickly and before Taehyung could even think about it, he just asked. "Do you hate me too?"
"No."
