《LITTLE FURY ( fairy tail. )》CHAPTER THIRTEEN ➵ STORM-LIKE TEMPERAMENT

In the midst of rebuilding the guild hall, there was the strangest arrival of a lunch box near Natsu and Gray. Dealana had been moving lumber to and from the piles and construction site when she joined Erza as the redhead intended to scold Natsu and Gray. However, when they got there...
"Who said you could take a lunch break?" Erza shouted before her mood did a one-eighty when she noticed that the food looked like Gray's face. "Hey."
"Is that supposed to be your face made out of veggies?" Dealana questioned, her dual-colored eyes narrowed at the lunch. Not a second later, Erza stabbed a fork into food-Gray's face. Dealana stifled her laughter as the real Gray screamed.
Erza put the bite of food in her mouth coming to a quick decision, "Mm. This is good! I could eat the whole thing!"
"Guess I should try it." Gray sighed taking a bite. His reaction was similar to Erza's only toned down a notch with the enthusiasm.
"Hey, where'd you even get that lunch anyway? I'm pretty sure you can't cook." Dealana questioned.
"I dunno, it just appeared out of nowhere." Gray replied as Erza took another bite.
"Aw~ Gray must have a secret admirer!" Dealana cooed. Erza choked on the food in her mouth, fighting the urge to laugh. Happy and Natsu didn't try to hide their laughter while a faint blush appeared on Gray's face.
"Wh-Wha..? What gave you that idea?" he shouted before trying to grab at the sky-blue haired girl who nimbly dodged. Erza smiled as she now held the lunch box, sharing a bit with Happy while they watched Dealana appear to have dropped some of her emotional barriers. It was a happy scene, Gray trying to wrangle Dealana while she laughed genuinely for the first time since Lisanna.
A few other members of Fairy Tail heard the nostalgic sound of childish laughter and were surprised that it came from Dealana. The girl looking happier than she'd ever been in years was currently smiling and laughing without a care in the world. It was truly a wonderful delight to their ears, having believed they may never hear it again.
"I don't think I've ever seen Dealana that happy before." Happy voiced Erza's observations.
"Yes." Erza nodded watching the girl with a small smile, "but it's nice to see her so care-free. I only hope it will continue to last a bit longer." her words were vague and referenced the fact that Laxus would likely arrive back soon for a job when they were ready to be posted again.

Dealana continued to help around the soon-to-be new guild hall but as progress was being made, she found herself able to relax a little more. She went back to floating on clouds instead of actual chairs and was sitting nearby Mira when she made the big announcement.
"Listen up, everyone! We're taking on job requests again, starting today!" she gave a bright smile, "You'll have to excuse the mess while we're under construction, but at least you can get back to work!" Everyone cheered, and Dealana found herself floating a distance away from the rowdy guild members surrounding the job request board.

It wasn't until she smelled a familiar scent that she stiffened. Laxus. He was here. Dealana's eyes scanned the area to find him talking heatedly with Erza, or at least, Erza was angry in the conversation. The girl was just about to eavesdrop, but Erza launching a barrel and yelling loud enough for everyone to hear meant she didn't have to technically be rude.
"Why don't you tell the others how you feel?" Erza challenged the lightning mage who sat calmly in front of the enraged Erza.
"I have no problem telling 'em what I think of 'em." Laxus replied easily, his arrogant tone of voice made Dealana begin to bristle and clench her fists. The cloud she sat on dissipated and her feet touched the ground. "This guild's full of nothing but losers and weaklings!" Laxus turned to Jet and Droy, "Especially the two of you morons. You were Phantom's personal punching bags. You know I'm glad I never bothered to learn your names. Which brings me to the worst of them all," Laxus turned to Lucy, "the rich little princess wannabe wizard. This was your fault."
"Laxus! Would you shut up?" Mira interjected, "The master said no one in the guild was to be held accountable for what happened, not even you," Laxus at this point stood up with his arms crossed, "despite the fact that I begged you to come help, and you turned your back on us!"
"Stop your whining! That fight had nothing to do with me. But if I had been there, you wouldn't be drowning your sorrows in this pile of rubble right now." It seemed that Erza, Natsu, and Dealana had all snapped by that point. Natsu attacked first and Dealana found she couldn't move her feet. Glancing down she noticed that they were incased in ice. She turned and glared at Gray who ignored it, knowing it was better this way.
"I've heard enough outta you!" Natsu had shouted while charging, but Laxus zipped out of the way with his Lightning Body spell. "Come on, Laxus! Fight me like a man!" Natsu shouted when he recovered. "You gutless coward!"
Laxus only laughed, "How do you expect to fight me when you can't even touch me, dimwit? I can't wait to inherit this place and kick all you weaklings to the curb!" Laxus's gaze suddenly found Dealana's enraged one glaring, her body shaking with anger and her feet frozen in place to hold her back. He smirked at Gray and Elfman behind her ready to grab her should she break free.
"Forget what I said about the blond chick, I'm pretty sure the little runt was the worst of this mess, I mean, you couldn't even last for a minute against that Phantom guy, right? Man, talk about pathetic, if I'd known you'd turn out this weak I'd never have picked you up off that street." Laxus sneered, causing a lot of the guild to gasp. Dealana felt angry and sad tears burning behind her eyes and pooling before they began to slip down. Gray and Elfman were so in shock at the harsh words, they couldn't do anything. But Laxus didn't care and addressed the rest of the guild, "Your days in Fairy Tail are numbered, kids! Things are gonna be a whole lot different around here, so I guess you losers will have to find a new place to hang out." He left in a burst of lightning, his laughter echoing for a few seconds longer.

Most looked at where he had disappeared from before the sound of shattering filled their ears. Not only had Dealana forcefully ripped her feet from the ice, causing it to shatter, the ground beneath her feet crumbled. Her dual-colored eyes were hidden behind her hair as the sky began to darken rapidly. She began slowly making her way in the direction of anywhere but the guild, knowing she wouldn't be able to tame the weather that followed her emotions. It would be best if she left to cool off.
"Dealana–" Mira started, but was cut off by Dealana.
"No, Mira. I need to be alone for right now." Her voice was cracking but it still held her anger, "You can't rebuild the guild hall in the weather I'm bringing." She stopped just at the entrance of the construction site, "But Laxus was right about one thing, he probably should've never picked me up off the street. 'Cause he's going to have to deal with me later, and it won't be pretty...for either of us." with that said, Dealana left those who heard her in more shock before thunder rumbled overhead, matching each time her foot took another step.
Meanwhile Lucy was wonder why Laxus would ever inherit the guild. Mira was the one who answered with a heavy sigh, "We may not have choice. Laxus could inherit the guild because he's the master's grandson."
"Huh?!" Lucy was freaked out, before Mira continued.
"Whether we like it or not, he's at the top of a short list of people who could assume command if the master were to retire."
"No. Really?" Lucy breathed, "I probably shouldn't be asking, but what did Laxus mean when he was talking to Dealana?" Mira frowned slightly before sighing.
"Like Natsu, Dealana's dragon parent, Arashi, suddenly left leaving her all alone. She was only four years old at the time. From the stories she's told, she ran across Fiore for days until she collapsed on one of the streets here in Magnolia. Laxus was the one who found her. They used to be really close, Dealana looked up to Laxus like he was her older brother and he saw her as a little sister, even if he didn't want to admit it." Mira smiled reminiscing at a few the times Laxus would show affection to the girl with either ruffling her hair, or if Dealana was lucky, he helped her with her magic seeing as they shared the lightning aspect in common.
"Oh, wow...I didn't realize..." Lucy murmured her dislike for Laxus growing as she remembered how much Laxus had just hurt the storm dragon slayer with his words.

Dealana made her way to her cave within the East Forest. Once inside, she made her way to the tunnel and training cavern before she finally let go of the angry emotions boiling beneath her skin. The room's temperature dropped before lightning spiked out in every direction as Dealana screamed. She let herself fall onto her knees before catching herself from falling further with her hands. Tears landed on the ground, darkening the stone floor just a bit as the air circled around her in a mini cyclone.
She knew she hadn't been at her best during the battle with Phantom, it wasn't that bothering to her. What really stung was Laxus' next words to her.
"if I'd known you'd turn out this weak I'd never have picked you up off that street."
"if I'd known you'd turn out this weak I'd never have picked you up off that street."
"if I'd known you'd turn out this weak I'd never have picked you up off that street."
Dealana let out another wave of magic energy and frustrated tears before letting her body curl into a tight ball, the exhaustion of expelling so much magic at once made her eyelids heavy. The sky-blue haired girl allowed sleep to wash over her in hopes that it would clear the stormy weather she brought to Magnolia.
She was only sleeping for a half-hour before a shadow loomed over her unconscious form.
"Pesky human, so reckless with your magic..." Porlyusica sighed before bending down to make sure the girl was okay. The woman had seen the sudden change in weather and felt the spike of magical energy before it nearly disappeared completely, only a faint trace left behind. The girl looked utterly drained and probably wouldn't be up to full strength for a few days after something like this.
➵
Makarov couldn't help but worry on his way back from the Magic Council as he noticed the damp ground and the puddles of rain left behind. It looked like a storm had passed through. He sighed, hoping whatever got Dealana upset wasn't too bad, but then again, the only other times he'd seen her this upset was with Lisanna's passing and when her anger got out of hand.
➵
I feel bad for making her carefree and finally the happiest she's been since Lisanna and then ruining it all with Laxus' comment. At this point, Laxus thinks what he's doing will make the guild stronger, and to do that, he can't have any weakness. No matter how much he will deny it and hurt Dealana, Laxus still cares for our little storm dragon. Dealana's magic is really powerful, but also harder to control especially with her emotions.
I added Porlyusica as a way of avoiding the Loke arc and it provides a good excuse for Dealana not to be involved with the Tower of Heaven, since I just can't see her having a good reason to be apart of that arc.
What do you think of this chapter? Kind of filler, but kind of not. I'd love to hear what you have to say, so don't be afraid to say what's on your mind as you read!
