《Sinbad: High King of the Seas》Chapter 17: "Debt!"

"WAAH! I'm sorry! I'm sorry! It's all my fault! I'm sorry!" Vittel cries.
"C-Calm down, Vittel!" Sinbad says.
"What in the world happened in here?" Hinahoho asks as Vittel continues crying.
"Vittel, explain how you racked up such a large amount of debt right now." Annalise says.
"Okay..." Vittel says, "The truth is... after you all sailed for Sasan... Due to a number of accidents at sea, our company's trade deficit began to rise. I reworked our budget, cut down on unnecessary expenses and did everything I could think of to us out of debt... but no matter what I did, it didn't go well... It was then... that woman appeared saying 'If you've lost something, you just need to replace it'. She was the head of a prominent company, distinguished even in the capital of Remano, and because of our efforts to raise money, she came to us with an investment opportunity. She introduced us to goods from an emerging nation... goods that would be a valuable investment... she said they'd definitely be profitable."
"And they weren't?" Annalise asks.
"Let him finish." Sinbad says.
"On top of that, we didn't have to pay cash for them, and we were told that it would be an exchange of good faith between us... so I made up my mind and requested goods worth more than our company's assets! I thought that nothing could go wrong, but while I looked on in horror... the market value of the goods we invested in dropped! And it's stayed that way ever since. And now we're left with a debt more than ten times what those goods are worth." Vittel explains. Vittel begins to cry again as he continues.
"But please believe me! I thought I was doing right by our company! I never imagined it would turn out like this." Vittel says. Vittel screams when he dodges Annalise's punch that was actually meant to miss him then dodges Jafar's attack with his Kunai.

"Investment?! DEBT? It was for the company? Just what the hell did you go and do, ya bastard?! Ain't got nothing to do with that. The problem is, how're we gonna pay off this debt?" Jafar asks, "A bastard like you..." Annalise looks at Jafar as she'd jumped back when Jafar had attacked.
"SHOULD PAY WITH HIS LIFE, SHOULDN'T HE?!" Jafar asks angrily, "I'LL KILL YOU! DAMMIT!" Vittel screams and Annalise grabs Jafar and he growls as he tried to attack Vittel.
"Jafar, c-calm down. You've gone back to your old habits." Sinbad says.
"SHUT IT! I AIN'T ABOUT TO LET SOME SMALL FRY ORDER ME AROUND!" Jafar says.
"Annalise, will you please?" Sinbad asks.
"I am holding him back." Annalise says as she was dragged slightly by Jafar. She had a blank expression on her face.
"Well, you need to do more." Sinbad says and Hinahoho grabs Jafar and holds him back for her.
"Are you okay, Vittel?" Annalise asks.
"Y-Yes." Vittel says.
"Why didn't you tell us all this sooner? If only you had—" Sinbad says.
"I couldn't tell you." Vittel says, "I saw how much fun you were having and I just couldn't say anything. Sinbad, I'm sorry."
"Me too. I'm sorry I didn't notice the situation you were in." Sinbad says.
"Anyway, we must disclaim this as quickly as possible. Show me all the documents concerning your investment and all the goods you exchanged." Annalise says.
They head to the records room. Vittel begins getting it all down while Sinbad and Annalise looks through it too.
"Sin, there's something strange about this investment." Annalise says.
"You think so too, huh?" Sinbad asks.
"The goods Vittel bought are the only ones that saw a rapid price decrease. All of them in quick succession. There's no way this was a mere coincidence." Annalise says, "It's like someone restricted the influx of these particular goods and then flooded the market with the very same goods after Vittel had invested in them. If no one had the ability to manipulate the market to suit their purposes, then this kind of situation would be a possibility."

"In other words, this investment was a trap set up in order to shut us down." Sinbad says.
"Sin! Let's discuss this with the merchant's guild." Jafar says, "If we can prove that this investment was a scam, then we may be able to have our debts written off."
"No good. That's too slow." Sinbad says.
"Huh?" Jafar asks.
"How long will it take to prove? In the meantime, either this company will have already been seized or our debs will have grown." Sinbad says.
"We have no time... therefore..." Sinbad says and he turns and grabs Annalise as he transforms with Baal. He carries her away.
"I'm going to talk to the other party directly! Tell me where I can find her, Vittel!" Sinbad says as he flies out the window and looks back at Vittel and the others.
Sinbad and Annalise arrive in the middle of their banquet. Annalise looks forward angrily as she looks around ready. Sinbad looks ahead.
"I am Sinbad and this is my best friend, Annalise. We are the heads of the Sindria Trading Company of Napolia. We're here to discuss the unjust damage caused to our company. Is the head of the Mariadel Company here?" Sinbad asks.
"Suspicious characters! Guards arrest them!" A guy yells suddenly.
"Please stop." A feminine voice says and Annalise looks towards the sound of the voice, "I don't mind. After all, they are one of our clients."
"Lady Maader!" A kid with animal ears says.
"You're Sinbad, Dungeon conqueror and the code head of a developing company... Well come to my banquet. My name is Maader Umm Mariadel. I'm the head of this company." Maader says and the two look up at her. She stares down at them and she smiles.
"My... what a cute little couple." Maadersays.

The Last Death Mage
Since time immemorial humanity has always feared and shunned what it didn’t understand. Over time this changed a bit to encompass things that didn’t conform to their thoughts and ideals. Due to humanity’s stubbornness with which the enforced their ideals many lives were lost and changed. When humanity first clashed with monsters and the beings that use magic, this trait caused many bloody fights. Over time the fights escalated into battles and full on war on several occasions. Humanity due to their adaptability and persistence won many of these altercations, causing huge casualties to the magical beings. Humanity did not come out unscathed however; many of the empires and civilizations noted in human history fell due to these battles and wars. Eventually over time humanity and the magical beings came to a sort of agreement. Magic and the beings associated with it faded into the background of history, being relegated to myth and legend. Humanity meanwhile advanced leaps and bounds once magic faded, leading to our current level of civilization. Not all magical beings were content with this, thus they did their own actions and killed or fed on humans. This has led to many organizations to be formed concerning this, on both the side of humanity and the side of magical beings. They regulate and control the use of magic as well as protect humanity from the darker things that are now not but myth to them, but there is a reason humanity instinctually fears the dark. Unfortunately there are always those that are unsatisfied by the status quo, and those that are prejudiced against things that are different. This is a story of a young man who wanted nothing more than to be normal. Unfortunately Fate and the world he lives in do not easily allow that this, thus his life changed, not for the better. Everyone has heard of or read stories about monsters and legends, heroes and villains, this is one such story. Hi, this is my second attempt at a story here, the first was before the major overhaul happened and i lost everything related to that story due to PC troubles. I hope you enjoy this if you dont please leave some constructive criticism in the comments. An Editor and the like will be needed, but I will edit as problems are pointed out and as i proof read. This story will have no set schedule, unless of course I decide to type up a bunch in succession then i will note that in a chapter beforehand. ADDED NOTE: most sexual content will be in Interludes or sub chapters with a .5 attached. Profanity and gore however shall be plenty in the actual story, though the descriptives for the gore may be added later. (For example, in the prologue that gave a hint at what happened to the MC, will be enhanced so that the gore invokes more descriptive/complete mental pictures, though it may wait.) ~Tyroth Gideon
