"So where are we again?" Tobin asks as we walk into a doctor's office in Hannover
Tobin and I got into Wolfsburg, Germany two days ago and all we've been doing the last two days is sleep...and other things.
"This is my Oncologist's office." I say then I feel Tobin squeeze my hand. "I'm still in remission, but I have screenings every 6 months."
"Oh."
"Sorry." I say then kiss Tobin's head. "I should've told you."
"It's okay." Tobin says.
I check in with the receptionist then Tobin and I are ushered back to one of the exam rooms. A minute later a nurse comes into the room and draws blood and does the other pre exam stuff then she leaves.
"Hello Astrid." My oncologist says when she comes into the room.
"Hey Doc." I say
My oncologist goes over the results of my blood work and she examines me for a little bit then Tobin and I check out.
"Well that was quick." Tobin says as we head to the car
"Which is a good thing." I say as we get into the car.
"So where are we going now?" My girlfriend asks while I pull away from the doctor's office.
"Ice skating, visiting the Hannover market, then maybe some Christmas shopping if you want."
"Sounds good."
A few minutes later we arrive at The Maschsee which is an artificial lake that once it freezes over then the public is allowed on to the ice. After we find a parking spot Tobin and I get out of the car then we head over to one of the skate stalls and rent. Once we have our skates we find a bench to sit on and lace up our skates then I put our shoes in my backpack before we walk towards the ice.

"Don't let me fall." Tobin says as we step onto the ice.
"Wouldn't dream of it Boo Bear." I say then take Tobin's hand in mine. "We'll take it nice and slow."
"Okay." Tobin says as we start skating.
Tobin and I skate around for a while and Tobin never strays more than an inch from my side.
"Wanna try to skate on your own?" I ask.
"No." Tobin immediately says and wraps her arms around me.
"Alright Boo Bear." I say and kiss Tobin's head. "Wanna get off the ice and warm up with some dinner and hot chocolate?"
"Yes please."
Tobin and I skate over to the bench we first sat on and change out of our skates and put on our shoes. We then return the skates before we get in the car and head to Schateke, which is a burger place. Once at Schateke we get a booth then look over the menu.
"So what's good here?" Tobin asks while resting her head on my shoulder.
Yes we are that couple that sits on the same side of the booth and I fucking love it.
"Basically everything is good." I say as the waiter comes over.
I order myself a coke, a caesar salad, and a cheeseburger then I order Tobin a beer, a caesar salad, and the bruschetta burger.
"Why didn't you get a beer?" Tobin asks after our drinks arrive.
"I don't really wanna go to German jail for a DUI." I say.
"Good point." Tobin says then she kisses my cheek. "I love you."
"I love you too." I say then kiss Tobin's head.
Tobin and I's salads come out a few minutes later so we eat them then eat our burgers when they arrive.

"That was so good." Tobin moans.
"That it was." I say and sign the receipts after paying. "You ready to go look around the Christmas market and get some dessert?"
"And hot chocolate?"
"And hot chocolate." I say and Tobin nods.
The two of us leave the restaurant and walk a couple blocks over to the Hannover Christmas market, get some hot chocolate, then make our way to the dessert stands
"What do you wanna try?" I ask then sip on my hot chocolate
"Is that Gingerbread?" Tobin asks and points at the thing she's talking about.
"Sort of." I say. "It's called lebkuchen."
"Is it good?"
"I like it...why don't we get a small one to try with our desserts and if you like it then we can get some more to take back to Wolfsburg."
"Okay." Tobin says with a smile.
I grab 2 small lebkuchen's then we continue looking around the dessert stall.
"What's that?" Tobin asks and points to
"That is christstollen which is a fruit bread of nuts, spices, and dried or candied fruit, coated with powdered sugar or icing sugar." I say. "It's one of my favorites."
"Can we try some?" Tobin shyly asks.
"Of course Boo Bear." I say then kiss Tobin's head.
Tobin picks out the christstollen she wants and we pay for our desserts then we go and sit on a bench. We then eat our desserts and by the noises Tobin makes when she eats the desserts I can tell she loves the dessert.
"Astrid?" Tobin says and looks at me with her best puppy dog eyes
"Yes we can get more desserts when we leave."
"Yay." Tobin cheers then she kisses my cheek.
"Ready to look around?" I ask and Tobin nods.
I through our trash away and Tobin intertwines our hands then we start walking around the market. We look at different stalls and purchase some trinkets to take back to America as gifts and for ourselves.
We also look at bigger gifts for Tobin's family
"Can we take any of this home with us?" Tobin asks. "Like will they stay in tact?"
"Yeah they will." I say.
"Cool."
"Yeah...so what can I get your parents, your siblings, and your siblings kids?"
"I know what we can do." Tobin says.
Tobin picks up some nutcrackers that represent each of the people in her immediate family then we pay for the nutcrackers. After we've paid the two of us go back to the dessert stand and get more christstollen and lebkuchen then we walk back to our car and put our purchases in the back seat.
"Ready to go home?" I ask from the drivers seat.
"Yeah." Tobin says then she leans over and softly kisses me. "I love you."
"I love you too." I say with a smile. "I haven't told you enough today, but you are the most beautiful woman in the world."
"Astrid." Tobin says while blushing.
I chuckle then kiss Tobin's rosy red cheek.
"Let's go home Boo Bear."
