"We're here." Tobin says as we pull into a driveway.
Tobin and I are in New Jersey for a couple days to spend Thanksgiving with her family.
*Flashback*
"Hey can I ask you something?" Tobin asks as we're cuddled together watching Netflix in our hotel room.
"Of course." I say and look directly at my forward.
"So I'm spending thanksgiving with my family this year for the first time in a long time and they wanna meet you so umm...Do you maybe want to go with me?"
"I'd love to." I immediately say with a smile.
I wasn't going anywhere for thanksgiving anyways.
"Really?"
"How could I say no to meeting your family? Now I get to learn some embarrassing stories about young Tobin." I say making my girlfriend groan.
"I'm regretting this now." Tobin says with a small smile.
*End of Flashback*
"I'll get the bags." I say
The two of us get out of the car and I head to the trunk to get our bags. After I've grabbed the bags I walk up the drive way and meet the group of people.
"Well family" Tobin says as I set the bags down. "This is my girlfriend Astrid...Astrid this is my mom Cindy, my dad Jeff, my brother Jeffery, and my sister's Katie and Perry."
"It's nice to meet all of you" I say and shake their hands.
"It's nice to meet the woman who has our sister so giddy." Katie says.
"Katie." Tobin whines. "Not cool."
"It's our duty as your older sisters to embarrass you." Perry says.
"Jerks." Tobin mumbles.
I pick up our bags then head into the house with everyone.
"Hey Toby where do you want me to put these?" I ask while holding the luggage.
"Oh so she can call you Toby?" Katie teases.

"I also call her Boo Bear." I say with a smirk.
"Astrid." Tobin whines.
"Aww." Cindy says. "That's so cute."
"Come on." Tobin mumbles and grabs my wrist. "I'll show you."
Tobin leads me through the house until we get to a room.
"We're sleeping in here." Tobin says as I set the bags down.
"Are your parents okay with us sleeping in the same room?" I ask.
"Yes baby." Tobin says then she walks over to me and wraps her arms around me. "And even if we had to sleep apart I'd just sneak into your room at night."
"Ooh." I say and wrap my arms around Tobin's waist. "Since when have you been a ruler breaker?"
"Since I started waking up in your arms."
"Aww." Katie says from behind me. "That was so cute Tobs."
"Katie." Tobin whines.
"It's okay Toby." I say.
"Come on lovebirds." Perry says. "food's ready."
"you guys suck." Tobin mumbles
"LOVE YOU." Tobin's sisters shout as they walk away.
"You're cute when you pout." I say then kiss Tobin's pout away.
"Come on." Tobin says while smiling.
My girlfriend leads me through the house again and into the kitchen.
"Food." I say when I see the spread Tobin's mother has laid out for us. "Glorious food."
"Have you girls not eaten?" Jeff asks.
"Not since breakfast." Tobin says. "our flight from Portland was at noon and we couldn't get any food before the flight."
"And they weren't handing out snacks on the flight." I mumble. "Jerks."
"Well dig in." Cindy says.
All of us get our food then we sit down around a table.
"So Astrid." Katie says.
"Uh oh." Tobin says causing everyone to laugh a bit.

"It's okay Tobin." I say and squeeze her hand then look at her sister. "Yes Katie?"
"Uh...I forgot what I was gonna say." Katie says.
"Dork." Jeffery says.
"You two be nice." Cindy says then she looks at me. "So how's my little girl treating you?"
"Mom." Tobin whines.
"She treats me very well Cindy." I say then look at Tobin. "I'm very lucky to have her in my life."
"Aww." The women in the family say.
"How are you liking Utah?" Jeff asks.
"It's...different." I admit. "A lot different than what i'm use to."
"What's it like being Kelley's twin." Perry asks.
"Uh there's pro's and con's, but it's really nice to always have someone in your corner no matter what."
"Did you two both go to Stanford?" Katie asks.
"Until we were 20 we did then I left to go to Germany." I say.
"That must've been hard." Jeff says.
"For different reasons yes it was." I say after I eat some food.
"I don't understand." Perry says so I set my utensils down and take a big breath.
"I left Stanford because my pregnant girlfriend was shot and killed right in front of me and I was shot as well. I basically couldn't handle everything so I packed up my stuff, wrote letters to Christen and to Kelley, then I left in the middle of the night." I say and sniffle a bit. "It wasn't hard to be away from kelley because we were close. It was hard because we have a no secrets policy and I kept my contact with Wolfsburg a secret so that hurt. It also hurt because I hated my twin for a very long time because everyone was more worried about her well being then mine after my girlfriend died...luckily we reconnected and now we are stronger than ever."
"Woah." Katie says.
"Yeah." I say then Tobin squeezes my hand. "The funny thing is I'd relive it all over again."
"Really?" Tobin asks.
"If means I'd be in the same place today then yeah I would." I say then look at my girlfriend. "All of that brought me to you. I wouldn't be where I am today without you to help me through my issues...truthfully If we never got together I probably would've returned to Germany after the World Cup...and I probably never would've returned to America."
I then wipe a tear falling from my girl's eye.
"You changed my life Tobin." I admit. "I'll be forever grateful for you helping to turn me into who I am today. I couldn't have done any of the things I have in the past months without you by my side."
"Tobin." Jeff says then my girlfriend and I look at her father.
"Yes Dad?" Tobin questions as I see the women in the family...and Jeffery wiping their eyes.
"Keep her around." Jeff says and points at me. "I like her."
"I plan too." Tobin says with a smile.
The 7 of us continue eating dinner and talk about more light hearted things.
Eventually dinner ends so Tobin and I help clean up the dishes then we retire to our room. Once in our room we shower together then, after I've dried us off and we've both done our nightly routines, I get in the middle of the bed before Tobin slides in next to me. I then wrap my arms around my girl and kiss her heads.
"I love you Tobin." I admit.
Tobin smiles at me then she turns in my arms and rests her chin on my chest.
"I love you Astrid." Tobin says then she kisses my heart. "and I'm so glad my family does too."

The humans established the seven Foretoken families, swearing to never live in captivity again. In the present day, there is nothing but peace and poverty in Truweld. A poor young woman makes her money from raiding the Worldrenders' plantations. Meanwhile, a genius inventor, a man born from a Foretoken family, idles his days and his talent away. And from the northern mountains, the home of the Worldrenders, a boy with a troubled past marches to the land of the humans. He calls himself a Worldrender and wields their powers. His objective is simple: he will conquer the humans or exterminate them all. This is an epic fantasy story featuring three protagonists, a slew of high fantasy races, and several mysteries at its core. There is a minimum of one chapter (1000 words or more) each week.
