《BRUINS》34

Abby's phone starts ringing.
She quickly dresses up, sneaking out of Steph's bed and dorm without the brunette noticing it. Once she's out of the room, carefully closing the door behind her, she puts the phone to her hear, but something makes her abruptly stop. The voice on the other end of the phone keeps calling her, but her attention is caught by the girl in front of her.
"Dahlkemper ?" the female voice says on the other end of the phone, as Abby's hand starts shaking. "You better answer right now, otherwise-"
She hang off, her eyes still caught by Carli Lloyd, standing right in front of her.
"You, young lady, is going to tell me what you have to do with Whitney Engen, otherwise something will happen to your beloved girlfriend." the middy says in a sharp voice, setting her jaw.
The situation has become really tensed.
Becky's trial is only a few days ago, as no evidences are found against anyone else. And the Bruins are beginning to stress out for the Final Four, that is only few days ahead as well. Abby knows what all of this means, but she can't just give up.
She shakes her head.
"I don't know what you're talk-"
"Don't play that game with me, Dahlkemper" Carli cuts her, setting her jaw, angry. She then takes Abby's phone from her hands and tries to find out who she called : anonymous number. "Who were you talking to ?"
Abby frowns.
"You don't have the right to be here" she slowly says in a confident tone. "I just have to cry for help and security will come running."
The middy starts smirking.
"You know what ? I like you." Carli lets out, a wide smile in her lips. But the defender soon finds out it's a defying smile when Carli gets closer to her and whispers. "You don't have any fear in you whenever you have to step up for yourself... Or protect a secret. Just be careful who you play with."

"I'm not scared of you."
"You should be."
There is a tensed silence, before Carli says :
"I know who you were talking to. On the phone, I mean."
Something in Abby starts panicking.
"Lie."
"I guess Stephanie wouldn't be so happy if she found out you are making business with-"
"Shut up" Abby hisses, angry. "You have no idea what I am going through right now to save... Anyway, you should go."
As the defender is taking her phone back from Carli's hand, walking past her, she feels someone grabbing her arm and turning her around. The middy is not stupid : of course she took some friends with her. Abby recognizes Brian, Carli's boyfriend, from the Stanford Men's Soccer team, along with some friends of his.
Even though her heart is racing, the blonde keeps her composure. But before she can say anything, Carli beats her to it and says :
"You are playing a dangerous game, Dahlkemper." Something in her voice announces to Abby that she is in deep trouble. And it gets confirmed when Allie Long joins Carli and Abby. The younger girl is terrified, and Carli takes advantage of that. "So now you're going to follow us without resisting. It's going to be a very long night my friend.."
Abby turns to Allie, and says :
"You know I didn't do anything"
The older girl nods.
"You'll have to prove it to me."
"How ?"
"Bring us to the person that has been threatening you for weeks." Allie orders.
Abby's eyes fall on the ground : this is the beginning of the end...

When the door suddenly opens, Tobin gets up and sets her jaw.
Out of all the people on the Bruins, she never thought Abby Dahlkemper would betray her : she chose her on purpose, exploiting her weaknesses. The middy stares at her for a second, before locking eyes with Allie.

"You gotta be kidding me."
Her best friend's words hit her like a truck. While Abby looks down, and that Carli makes her way in as well, Tobin starts feeling the anger grow more and more with the minutes going by. She sees the judgmental looks on their faces.
Carli is the one saying, in a beyond provocative tone :
"Okay, I would never have guessed that one."
"It's not what you think..." Abby starts.
But Allie is furious.
"I swear to God Tobin, if you lied to me one single time..."
"She didn't."
The three newcomers suddenly turn around, as Kelsey is slowly walking toward the coach, her computer in hands. The three of them are such in an shocking state that they remain silent, as Kelsey sits down on the coach, as Tobin is waving at Allie to go and sit down next to her best friend. The blonde reluctantly does as she is told, as Abby is shaking her head.
As soon as Allie looks at the screen, her eyes go wide and her jaw drops.
"Holy shit."
Tobin and Kelsey both nod, before the goalie says :
"This is who killed Christie Rampone."

Flashback
H-2 before Christie Rampone's murder.
Dear *name has been wiped by water and coffee*
There are many turnovers in life, but today I want you to only take the rocky roads, because the straight ones are so much more boring. You will see things you are not prepared to see. You will experience love, pain, joy and despair. Those are things you will try to acknowledge and take inside of you. I am sorry about everything, about what I took away from you. I apologize for everything. And I mean it.
My deepest sympathies,
Hope Solo
The fire is taking the letter away from the girl's shaky hand, as her lips are curved and her jaw set : today is the big day to get revenge.

Magriculture
When Aurum Industries announced the first Full Immersion Virtual Reality Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (FIVRMMORPG if you're hip) Limitless Online, most people saw it as an opportunity to live out their sword and sorcery fantasies. John, however, saw it as the opening of a new and as of yet uncrowded job market. One he was willing, and eager, to exploit. Determined to make money through virtual hard work and effort, John sets his sights not on the heights of magic or the perfection of the sword, but instead upon the tilling of the soil and the sowing of seeds as he explores the wide and wonderful world of magical agriculture all from the comfort of his own bed. Disclaimer: This is, at best, a very rough draft. I have already had to do one major rewrite and several minor rewrites of entire sections of the story, and it is a virtual certainty I will have to do re-writes again. Such changes may be as small as editing a few numbers (such as going back and changing how much mana an object holds) or it may force me to re-write entire chapters (this has happened once already, and I'm really hoping it doesn't happen again, but... life). Minor re-writes will probably never be posted here. Major rewrites probably will.Anyway, what this boils down to is: If you're looking for a fully cohesive story with few to no errors and publisher level editing, this is not the story for you. If your looking for a cohesive plot that's more than "Man farms, man farms, man farms well, man maybe makes money" you're probably also in the wrong place, but I will attempt to entertain you anyway.

A D&D Gamer in Garweeze Wurld
He doesn't know how he got here, and while the trappings are familiar, he doesn't actually know where he is, either. From the perspective of those around him, Duromar is a half-ogre barbarian, an uncivilized brute by any standard you care to use. But from his perspective, he's a character created in a gaming system. From either one, he must live within the rules of that system. This is the story of a gamer who ends up in a game that's just a bit off from what he knows. ---- I wanted to write something a little bit old-school. Most of the LitRPG I've found seems to be based on computer RPG styled stories. Progression through levels is fast, and depending on the game, skills and even attributes can be trained with or without class levels. This wasn't true with the older pen and paper games, and that's the style of leveling I wanted to write.
