《Nightmares in Heaven》Annie and Failed Lies

Sunlight streamed through the windows of the Poseidon Cabin, bouncing off the walls and casting a beautiful morning glow on the interior. The seashells that hung on the walls glinted in the sun.
Persephone Jackson awoke to find herself on an unusually warm and firm pillow. She opened her eyes fully and nearly gasped when she realized that the "pillow" was actually a certain son of Hades' chest. Her face burned with embarrassment until the events of the night before rushed into her head like a waterfall.
She stared at Nico; his face was so peaceful as he slept. His usually grumpy mask was replaced with a relaxed demeanor. Percy took one last glance and snuggled back into Nico's chest to sleep, but it was too late.
Nico yawned and opened his eyes to find Persephone Jackson clutching onto him like a teddy bear and he couldn't say he didn't enjoy it. A grin slowly spread across his face as he wrapped his arms around her. She sighed in content and Nico knew she was awake.
"Hey," he whispered in her ear.
"Shut up and go to sleep," she mumbled back.
Nico didn't want to protest, he really didn't, but he had to.
"People will wonder where we are. We probably missed breakfast, too," he grumbled obviously not happy about having to get up.
Percy groaned and lifted her head to look up at Nico. She stared into his almost black eyes and leaned up...
Knock! Knock!
"Hey Percy? You in there? I saved you some breakfast!" Annabeth's voice sounded from the outside.
Percy and Nico stared at each other wide-eyed.
"Percy? Alright, I'm coming in!"
"NO...I mean, no, no, it's fine," Percy called back, trying to keep the panic out of her voice, "I'll be right there, don't come in!"

"Okay..." Annabeth sounded confused and a little suspicious.
Percy pushed Nico out of bed while whispering, "Go, go, go!"
Nico scrambled towards a shadow as fast as he could.
"One minute Annie!" Percy called out.
Nico summoned a shadow and was about to go through it when Percy stopped him.
"Wait!" she hissed. She quickly kissed him and then pulled away. "That was for before. Now go, go!"
Nico broke out of the daze he went into when Percy kissed him and jumped into his shadow and traveled to his cabin.
Percy took long strides over to the door and threw it open, trying to look as normal as possible.
"Hey, Annie. What up?" she asked, slightly nervous.
"Umm..You missed breakfast so I brought you some food," Annabeth said holding up a plate of pancakes and Percy's eyed widened at the sight.
"FOOD!" she cried before stuffing her face with her syrup drowned pancakes. She had a giddy smile on her face as she thought of Nico, while she ate. Annabeth watched her while she scarfed down the food.
"So...why do you look so happy today morning? You're not usually a morning person," Annabeth asked slyly.
Percy froze mid chew. "Umm...foo?" she tried holding up her plated of pancakes, but it was no use; she was a terrible liar and she knew it.
Annabeth narrowed her eyes and stared calculatingly at her. Percy squirmed under her gaze.
Think fast, she thought, Think fast.
"IhadadreamthatLokiwasasparklyvampiretryingtoturnmeintoapurpledolphinandMr.DwashelpinghimbuthenthebestpartwaswhenThorsavedmewithhisgiganticgodlyarmsandtookmetoBlueFoodWorldwheretheyhadamazingcookiesandmountainsofbluefood." Percy blurted out. (A.N. The sentence is broken down at the bottom if you don't feel like trying to figure out what this says)
"Wha?" was all Annabeth was able to get out before Percy threw her pancakes in Annie's face as a distraction and took off toward the beach screaming, "Help! Dad! Help! Annabeth's trying to interrogate me to find out all my personal secrets!"

Annabeth just stood there with syrup and pancake bits dripping down her face. She considered running her best friend through with a dagger, but just sighed and shook her head, dismissing her weird behavior as an overdose of sugar the night before combined with Percy's usual personality. Then she headed back to her cabin to take a shower. Again.
------------------------------------------
Percy's crazy fast sentence broken down:
"I had a dream that Loki was a sparkly vampire trying to turn me into a purple dolphin and Mr. D was helping him but the best part was when Thor saved me with his gigantic godly arms and took me to Blue Food World where they had amazing cookies and mountains of blue food."
