Chapter four : I'm sorry

I walked in the lounge room tightening my sweater around me. "Happy birthday Jordyn" Zac winked at me and I looked up at him "Thanks" I smiled looking down and he just smirked walking past me watching me making me blush.

Why is he staring at me?

I spotted Xavier and Emma talking and smiled as she was smiling with him. She actually seems more comfortable around him, I walked to them and he looked at me. "Hey" he said sitting up, I smiled "hey guys what's up?" I asked

"The sky" he said and I hit the back of his head making Emma smile, "can I talk to Emma?" I asked and he smirked "sure" he said standing up. He kissed her head and I smiled as she blushed, he nudged me out the way making me roll my eyes and I smiled taking his seat next to her.

"So Are you going to like quiz me?" She asked and I raised an eyebrow "quiz you?" I said and she chuckled "he said something like that" she said and I shook my head.

"I wouldn't call it quizzing. Just a few questions" I said and she nodded "hit me" she said and I smirked "not literally" she said wide eyed making me chuckle "I know. I wouldn't hit you" I said and she sighed smiling.

"It's just usual questions I guess, like you won't hurt him right?" I asked and she shook her head "no. I wouldn't" she said and I nodded "you sure? Cause he's a very sensitive guy. Cries like a baby for any little thing" I said and she giggled.

I heard a noise behind me and smirked knowing that it was Xavier listening in, I raised my finger up and she raised an eyebrow. I stood up walking to the door and yanked it open making him stumble in.

"Didn't I tell you before not to listen in?" I said and he chuckled "I couldn't help myself" he said standing up straight and looked at her smiling. "Go. I have more questions and don't you listen in" I said and he rolled his eyes walking away. I closed the door locking it and she smiled blushing.

"You two are entertaining" she said and I chuckled sitting back down, "He's an idiot. I've learned to tolerate it over the years" I shrugged and she smiled. "I don't really know what to ask... just some advice I guess- Oh! let me tell you something. If he pressures you into doing anything you don't want to do; beat his ass. He won't fight back. He won't hit a girl" I said and she giggled.

"Or if not let me do it because your a nice girl and he's an idiot who never really listens" I said and she chuckled "thanks for the tip" she said and I smiled.

I heard shuffling on the other side of the room and sighed "Xavier!" I yelled and he groaned walking away. She giggled looking down and I bit my lip, "I'm wondering. when you first saw him... Why'd you run?" I asked and she looked at me.

"Well. I was freaked out. I'm mean. The future alpha is my mate" she said and I chuckled. "You weren't going to reject him?" I asked and she shook her head.

"No. I heard being rejected is very painful" she said and I looked down thinking about the alpha...

"I guess I'm just worried I won't be enough to be Luna" she shrugged leaning back, "I think you are. You have that feminine touch the pack needs" I said looking at her as she played with her dark hair.

"You really think so?" She asked nervously and I nodded. "I guess I'm just overthinking things" she said shrugging.

I smiled softly looking down at my hands, I raised my sleeve a bit seeing a small bruise from when the Alpha grabbed me.

The packs enemy...

"You know.... He's been worried about you today" she said making me look at her "he's always worried. That's another quality that's annoying" I said and she chuckled as I looked down.

"You can talk to me you know" she said and I hugged my leg sitting there, "it's nothing" I shrugged and she just looked at me.

Her blonde haired friend walked in the room with some guy and we looked at her, she looked at me up and down with a disgusted expression making me raise an eyebrow.

"Slut" she whispered walking past me "Alicia!" Emma gasped sitting up "it's fine" I chuckled licking my lips sitting there as she walked out.

"I-I'm so sorry about her. She didn't mean that" Emma said and I just shrugged "it's ok Emma. It doesn't bother me" I smiled and she sighed biting her lip.

"She thinks your trying to sabotage my relationship with Xavier" she said and I frowned "why would I do that?" I asked and she shrugged "cause you two were in love" she mumbled and I sighed.

"I would never do that. You and him are mates Emma" I said and she shrugged "whenever we're around you come along and I just..."

"You believe her" I muttered looking at her frowning and she sighed, "well if you don't want me around anymore you should've just said something" I said standing up and she bit her lip "Jordyn-"

"I'll see you around" I muttered walking out, I walked out the lounge and Xavier ran to me smiling "how was it?" He asked and I looked at him "fine. She's a great girl" I faked smiled and he frowned sensing my clipped tone. "What happened?" He asked.

"Nothing. Just feeling tired. I'll see you around" I said going upstairs quickly and he watched me frowning as Emma ran out "Jordyn wait! I'm sorry" she said going after me as I went to my room.

"Jordyn please. I'm sorry, Alicia is the type of person who is really persuasive and she just put ideas in my head" she said standing in my doorway.

I turned around looking at her and she just stood there biting her lip, "I admit I still have feelings for him, we were in love yeah but once he met you things changed. I'm not that type of person" I said crossing my arms over my chest and she sighed.

"What? What did she say that made you believe her? What did I ever do to make you think that?" I asked and she put her brown hair behind her ear.

"When we went for a run-"

"Which you invited me to" I said and she nodded "I know I did.." She sighed "if you didn't want me to go why'd you ask?" I said.

"I did want you to go I really did! It's just... The ankle thing got me suspicious" she said and I sighed running my fingers through my hair. "You pretended to get hurt... For what?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Xavier told me you two never get alone time. So I was helping him out" I said and she bit her lip, "what about when you practically tackled him?" She asked making me tense thinking about the alpha chasing me.

Shit! I almost forgot about what our mate said earlier!

"I was running from something. I didn't know you guys were gonna be there" I said and she just looked at me "what were you running from? The squirrels?" She scoffed rolling her eyes.

"What I was running from is none of anyone's business" I muttered feeling my heart racing thinking about the alphas terrifying growl.

"Is it true you and him had sex?" She asked making my eyes meet hers, I sighed rubbing my arm "when we dated yes. We did" I said and she looked down, "we had sex, we were in love but that's done with. We're just best friends again Emma. I would never do anything to ruin that" I said shaking my head.

"I just..."

"What? you get jealous?" I asked and she nodded, "Emma you're his mate. He would chose you over anybody you need to understand that. You can't sabotage a mating bond. That's ridiculous and I would never do that. I'm trying to help him get closer to you" I said making her frown.

"What?" She said and I sighed

"He wants to get closer to you so he's been asking me to talk to you and get closer so I can help you open up to him. That's all I'm trying to do just help you two not ruin you guys" I said and she closed her eyes.

"I'm so sorry Jordyn" she whispered and I looked down, "just tell me now if you don't want me around" I said and she shook her head walking to me "I was jealous and she put more ideas in my head" she said grabbing my arms.

"I don't want you to leave" she said and I sighed looking down, "I'm just jealous and I hate that feeling" she said and I looked at her as she shook her head.

"It sucks doesn't it?" I asked and she nodded, "it really does" she sighed making me slightly smile. "I'm sorry" she said again and I nodded "it's fine... I just want you to trust me" I said and she nodded "I do" she sighed. I walked to the door closing it and leaned my back on it facing her.

"C-can you keep a secret?" I whispered making her frown "oh god please don't tell me your pregnant with his baby!" She said and I quickly shook my head.

"Oh god no! I'm not" I said going to her and she sighed putting her hand over her chest in relief.

"It's nothing like that it's just... Something happened to me a few weeks ago" I mumbled biting my lip and she frowned "what happened?" She asked.

"I um... I met my mate" I mumbled nervously and her eyes widened "now I feel like a complete bitch. Why didn't you tell me? I would've felt so much better about the situation" she sighed and I bit my lip.

"So who is he?" She smiled and I sat down on my bed feeling the tears forming in my eyes. "It's bad" I whispered shaking my head and she sat next to me frowning "Jordyn what's wrong?" She asked rubbing my back

"It's... He's from the Shadow pack" I said making her eyes widened, "even worst... He's the Alpha of the Shadow pack" I said looking at her seeing her tensing up.

"Oh" she said and I nodded "he's terrifying" I whispered and she sighed "I see why your like this then" she said and I chuckled looking down. "I don't know what to do" I said and she looked at me

"You going to be alright?" She asked and I nodded smiling, "I'm fine. I just have to stay away from him" I said and she sighed "that's going to be difficult. You can't stay away from your own mate" she said and I shrugged. "I can handle it" I said shrugging.

"What if he can't?" She asked and I looked at her and gulped...

What if he can't?...

"Happy birthday to youuuu" My Dad sang and I smiled blowing out the candles.

"Happy birthday Cookie Monster" he said kissing my head "thanks Dad" I said and he scooped up some frosting on his finger and put it on my nose making me giggle.

I felt soft arms go around me and smiled looking up at the Luna Marie. "Happy birthday sweetie" she said and I turned around hugging her "Thank you" I said making her smile.

"What'd you wish for?" Xavier asked

"None of your business" I said and Emma giggled making him smile, Luna Marie cut the cake and we all froze as someone screamed outside.

"Shadow pack" Alpha Derek growled quickly walking out. I tensed up looking at Emma as her eyes widened, "Kids get upstairs" Dad said quickly and I looked out the window seeing Alpha Derek standing face to face with my mate.

Oh no.

I quickly ran out and Dad chased me grabbing me "I said go upstairs what the hell are you doing?" He hissed and my mate looked at me and growled loudly "get your hands off her!" He roared making Dad glare at him.

"You have no business here" Alpha Derek growled lowly looking at him, "I do actually" My mate said tilting his head at him like a crazy person. He lifted his arm slowly and pointed at me making me gulp feeling my heart racing, "She belongs to us" Alpha said.

"Not anymore" My mate smirked and I tensed up, "Jordyn, what did you do?" Dad whispered looking at me letting me go.

"I-I didn't do anything" I whispered shaking my head.

I gasped as my mate threw Alpha Derek on the floor holding his neck snarling showing his sharp canines "No!" I yelled running to them. "Jordyn!" Xavier and Dad yelled running after me.

"Let him go! Please!" I said running to him, he growled looking at me. "I'll go with you just please don't hurt anyone!" I said and he looked at me.

"You are not going with him" Alpha Derek yelled and I felt someone grab me, my mate snapped his head at Dad and snarled at him "she is mine!" He yelled.

"Daddy,let me go" I whispered nervously as I felt my mates anger. He can shift any minute.

And I'm not letting my pack get killed because of me.

"I'm not letting you leave with him" Dad said pulling me to him "Daddy; the reason he's here is because he's my mate" I said quickly making everyone freeze.

"What?" Him and Xavier said wide eyed.

My mate quickly grabbed me pushing my Dad away and held me tightly against him making me wince. "You're hurting her!" Xavier said and my mate growled "Back off!" He barked.

"I told you to pack your bags" he growled in my ear, "didn't i?!" He yelled making me flinch "yes! I-I'm sorry" I whispered and I heard my Dad growl.

"Let my daughter go"

"She is mine" My mate said and I looked at Dad with tears in my eyes. "I'm sorry Dad" I whispered.

"We're not letting you go" Alpha Derek said glaring at my mate.

"Either she comes with me or I'll kill this whole pack" my mate said deeply and I whimpered "no! I said I'll go with you" I said grabbing his arm and his eyes snapped at me.

"Just... Just let me get my bags and say goodbye. Please" I whispered and he stared down at me with hard eyes. "Please" I pleaded with tears in my eyes making him tense "Fine" he growled nudging me making me stumble, he growled walking in the forest and I panted going inside quickly.

"Jordyn!" Dad yelled following me, "I am not letting you leave with that monster!" He said as I ran into my room grabbing my duffle bag "and I'm not letting this pack die because of me, so I have no choice but to go!" I said looking at him.

"When were you going to tell us the Alpha of the Shadow pack was your fucking mate?" Xavier spat and I just quickly packed my bags thinking of different ways everything could go wrong right now if my mate gets anymore pissed.

I honestly didn't expect him to come here.

Xavier walked to me snatching my bag and threw it on the floor angrily. "Stop it!" I yelled looking up at him and he growled, "you're not going!" he snapped.

"I don't have a choice ok?!" I yelled picking up my bag. "Jordyn, please" Dad pleaded and I grabbed the pictures of me with my parents, one of me and the Alpha family and my collage of pictures with me and Xavier growing up together sticking it in my bag.

I stood up looking at them as they stared at me practically blocking the doorway making me sigh "I'm sorry" I whispered quietly and Dad walked to me shaking his head. He cupped my face "you can't go. Not there. Please" he whispered.

"I have to" I whispered hugging him and he held me tightly, "I Love you" I whimpered feeling like it might be the last time I ever see him and he shook his head tearing up.

I looked at Xavier and walked to him hugging him, "you should've told me" he mumbled quietly hugging me. "I'm sorry. I didn't want anyone to know" I said and he sighed as I kissed his cheek "I love you" I whispered and he just looked at me "and I love you" he said as I walked out quickly.

I ran down the stairs seeing Emma and Luna Marie in the kitchen staring out the window worriedly.

"Jordyn!, it's not safe" Marie said quickly walking to me "I'll be fine" I said hugging her and she hugged me back tightly. I pulled away and looked at Emma "take care of them for me; ok?" I said and she nodded.

I smiled softly and walked out sighing making everyone look at me, Alpha Derek stood in the backyard staring at the forest intensely. I walked to him biting my lip and he looked at me, I stood on my tippy toes kissing his cheek softly making him sigh.

"Are you sure about this?" He asked with uncertainty and I nodded, "take care of my Dad. Please" I whispered looking up at him and he nodded cupping the back of my head "be careful" he said and I sighed turning to the forest slowly walking.

I enter the forest looking back at the pack house and gasped feeling my mate grab my arm tightly and pull me making me stumble.

"Ow!" I yelped and he just growled pulling me deeper in the forest, "let me go! I'm not going to run!" I spat hitting his arm and he slammed me against the tree. "Don't you ever put your hands on me" he growled and I whimpered.

He walked away letting me go and I held my bag close to me following him...

I watched his muscular back as he walked in front of me, we've been walking for miles already and I have no clue where are we or where exactly we're going.

My feet were killing me and it was pitch black out, thank god for wolf vision.

"Um... Alpha?" I said and he growled "don't you call me that" he said not looking at me and I looked down "I don't even know your name. What am I supposed to freaking call you then?" I muttered and he stopped walking making me stop nervously.

"My name is Mason" he said and began walking again.

Mason.

'Sexy name' Sarafina purred making me gag.

seriously Sarafina?

'What? he's our mate. Of course I'm going to be attracted to him' she said rolling her eyes and I shook my head walking.

"My feet are killing me" I whispered shaking my head as we climbed over another log, I gasped tripping and fell on the ground. He growled turning to me "do you have to me so fucking clumsy?" He said.

"It's not my fault! We've been walking for hours" I spat sitting up and I gasped and he grabbed my arm helping me up.

I snatched my arm away from him and he glared at me walking in front of me, "are we almost there?" I asked following him.

"Stop talking" he said and I rolled my eyes, I looked down shivering as a gush of cold wind came. My lose hair flew all over my face and I heard him inhale deeply and growled lowly.

'He's smelling us. He seems to like our scent' Sarafina smirked

I bit my lip and gasped bumping into his back, he stood there and I just looked at him. "Why'd we stop?" I asked and he looked at me, "let's camp here" he said.

"Camp?" I said and he looked at me "I hate repeating myself" he said and turned to the side walking away. I followed him nervously seeing we were approaching a cave.

I looked up seeing we had to climbed to it making me groan, my feet were killing me. I don't want to freaking climb a damn wall.

"Get on my back" he said and I looked at him "why?" I asked

"Just. Do. It" he said and I sighed walking behind him, I put my hands on his broad shoulders and felt him tense. I jumped up on his back and he quickly grabbed my legs holding me in place. I wrapped my arms around his neck nervously and he growled holding my legs tightly.

"What?" I whispered "Don't breathe in my ear" he spat and I leaned back nervously "sorry" I mumbled and he sighed grabbing on to the wall. He climbed up easily and I held on to him tightly feeling his heat radiating onto me. I sighed looking down actually liking this warmth.

It was comforting.

Once he finished climbing he entered the cave holding my legs, I went to get down but he held me in place.

"What?" I said looking at him as he just stood there, "M-Mason?" I said and he growled pulling me to his front and slammed me against the wall. I gasped looking at him and he nuzzled his face in my neck holding my hips.

He pressed his hips against mine and I squeezed his shoulder blushing, he growled in my ear making me shiver and he quickly pushed my legs off him walking away.

Wow. Bipolar much?

I shivered as the cold air hit me, I slid to the ground putting my bag next to me and hugged my self trying to keep warm.

I actually miss his warmth.
