Atsushi went over to Ryu. "Hey Ryu, can we talk for a sec?" "Sure dude. I'll be right back Amelia." Ryu said and followed Atsushi out to the balcony. "This is sudden, but how do you feel about Io?" Atsushi asked. Ryu blushed a little. "H-he's just a f-friend." Atsushi smiled. "Come on Ryu how do you really feel?" Astsushi smirked. "I-i guess I like Io. M-more than a friend." Ryu blushed. "Ryu, I have a plan!" Atsushi said. "I'm gonna round up the rest of the club except Io ok? He can not know about my plan. You have to hang with Amelia for a little while longer. Can you handle it? I saw you getting annoyed with her earlier." "I can for a little bit more yeah." Ryu said. "Ok. Meet me, En, and Yumoto here in 5 minutes." Atsushi said. Ryu took a deep breath and went back to Amelia. "Ryuu!! What took so long? I was bored honny!" She giggled, glomping Ryu again. "Atsushi and I were just chatting about bro stuff for a while. No big." Ryu said, shrugging. Five minutes passed and Ryu managed to pry Amelia off him and meet Atsushi and the others. When they were allon the balcony, Atsushi spoke. "Now, Battle Lovers! What is our purpose? To preserve love. Our good friend Ryu here likes Io. Now, Ryu, don't tell Io I told you, but Io likes Ryu. Ryu, if you can convince Amelia to get seven minutes in heaven going, I can dig it so you and Io are first. In the closet, you can confess your feelings towards him, and when the time is up, come out of the closet!" Atsushi said, then burst out laughing. Ryu understood and started laughing too. "Whats so funny?" Yumoto asked. "Ha-ha, ok, ha-ha" Atsushi started, still laughing. "D-do you know that *giggle* coming out of the closet is another term for telling people your gay? Well, when Io and *giggle* Ryu will come out of the *giggle* literal closet as a couple, and will be coming out as gay, so *giggle* they are coming out both ways!" Atsushi managed to explain before bursting into fits of laughter again. After they calmed down, they went inside. Ryu went up to Amelia. "Hey Amy," he said, using her nickname, "can you start a game of Seven Minutes in heaven? En has his eye on someone but is to shy tovtalk to them." "Ok Ryu-kun!" Amelia giggled. She grabbed a microphone she had set up for announcements. "Listen up everyone!" She said into the mic, causing all the guests to stop talking and look at her. "We are now going to play Seven Minutes in Heaven! Everyone sit in a circle!" They all sat and put items in a spare hat Atsushi happened to have, already rigged to get Io and Ryu together. Io picked first. He pulled out a ponytail holder and saw Ryu with his pink hair down. "Io, looks like you got me. Let's go!" Ryu said, dragging Io to the closet. Io shot a look at Atsushi. "What did you do!?" Io's eyes questioned Atsushi desperately. "Trust me!" Atsushi's eyes answered back.

The Girl from the Mountain
Alexandra Bedford is a weapon, a young woman with telekinetic powers capable of leveling entire cities, born to fight in the desolate remains of post-apocalyptic North America. There is only one problem: she may be losing control of her abilities. Sixteen years after a global pandemic devastated the earth’s population, the lines in the old United States have been drawn between the Cheyenne Directorate in Colorado and the New England Alliance on the East Coast. The Directorate, of which Alexandra is a part, is a small but powerful organization dedicated to returning the country to its former glory. However, when a diplomatic mission to the New England Alliance goes wrong, Alexandra finds herself at the center of a bloody civil war. Battles are fought on the old highways and in dilapidated towns and once-great cities. And as the conflict escalates, all of North America faces the threat of being burnt away by nuclear fire. Against this backdrop of war, Alexandra tries to uncover the long-hidden secrets behind the plague, her abilities, and the two men fighting to decide the fate of the United States - Henry Bedford, Alexandra's father and leader of the Directorate, and John Martin, the mysterious figure at the heart of the New England Alliance who may hold the key to everything she seeks. None of this will matter, however, unless Alexandra can prevent the power growing inside her from taking over and consuming the very world she is fighting to save. Author's Notes: I appreciate you taking a look at my novel, The Girl from the Mountain. If you're a fan of post-apocalyptic fiction, military thrillers, and/or cosmic horror, I think you'll enjoy this story. I completed the novel's first draft back in 2011 and made significant changes in 2016. Since then, I've more-or-less sat on the manuscript while working on other projects. Thanks to a bit of prodding, I've decided to send this story out into the wild with some touch-ups and additional revisions. I welcome any comments or criticisms, and I hope you enjoy The Girl from the Mountain!
